I think it's important to address any such grand philosophical question in the context of its time. Specifically, in this case, Diego has recently undergone a near-death experience. How does this interact with the baser urges of the flesh? That's hard to say for sure. On the one hand, as best we've seen, Diego is not a masochist, and thus less like than some to appreciate impromptu dentistry. On the other hand, such a close brush with oblivion may reawaken the urge to enjoy and experience life to its fullest, including through the indulgences of impulses otherwise left restrained. Thus, I am forced to conclude that further evidence is necessary before a definitive verdict can be reached, but you best believe we will be watching with great interest.
