The jetties are wooden walkways, kept afloat by buoys, the boats they're lashed to, and their relative lack of density. The central jetties surround the cruise ship and are wider, denser, and better maintained; while it's very possible to fall or be thrown off, almost every piece of walkway here has safety railings, some even reinforced with metal. Life preservers are placed at intervals throughout, and access to many ships is available through ladders and walkways. While it might seem that cover would be sparse, the twists and turns and hiding places between ships actually offer many opportunities to get lost or hide here.

"I... I used to think they wanted me and Pippi to actually escape. I thought we were supposed to be, like, YA protagonists or something. But now I don't think that's true. I think we were supposed to be a joke. We were supposed to be pathetic. She was supposed to be someone with a funny name. I'm supposed to be someone who thinks Andy Warhol is legitimately the root of all evil. That's who they thought I was when they picked me.

"I think, probably, a mistake a lot of people make on this show when they talk about society or whatever is that they talk about themselves too much. They're lecturing you but they're not giving you a reason to care. So instead I'll talk about you. I'll give you a reason to care. The only reason they even do this is because you people watch it. You're why this happens. The show's about you. You're the ones making them money. And then that money makes them even more money.

"I'm 18, so I'm legally, like, an adult. Didn't matter. They took me. And I'm rich and white. Didn't matter either. They can take you. They can take anyone. Nobody is above this except them. So I guess I'll spell it out for you. They've set a legal precedent that gives them the power to go and kill anyone they feel like. They've got your name, they know everything about you, they can take anything from you, and soon enough they'll let you know it. And there's nothing left you can do about it. The minute you let them get away with the first season, they won."
