Kick it over? Just... give up his weapon? Fine. Whatever. He'd be doomed without a weapon, he'd be doomed if he just stood there refusing to give it up. Either way, he was going to be in trouble.
It was ironic, but he would have been fine if he had just been more heartless. If he had just committed to shooting Kaori and leaving her there to die, if he hadn't hesitated and dithered around, he would have been fine. But he couldn't just turn off his humanity, even when he really wanted to. He'd done something unforgivable, and he'd just immediately backtracked and tried to take it back, and now Kaori was dead and he was screwed, and everybody was worse off. There was probably a moral in all of this, but damned if he knew what it was.
"Fine."
He nudged the crossbow towards where he imagined Yukiko would be - that'd mean that Yumiko was the one who had the gun on him. He didn't know anything about Yumiko, so this information did nothing to tell him how likely he was to get his brains blown out here - but didn't manage to kick it very far. He couldn't see it anymore, and he wasn't about to turn his head and risk getting shot for being threatening. He kept his hands raised, and took a step forward to put some distance between himself and the weapon.
"I... I didn't mean to kill her. She snuck up on me and I panicked."
"I... I just... panicked."
Kill our friends? Sounds stressful and we're busy!

Yumiko heard the ruffling of foliage behind her, presumably Yukiko. She was sorry she had to see all this. But... she was proud of Yukiko for being brave. She must have been so scared. Yumiko was scared too, of course, but she was taking it on herself to be brave for Yukiko.
She watched as the boy bumped the crossbow backwards in their direction. He said he didn't mean to kill the girl he'd shot, that he panicked. Yumiko... Yumiko believed him. Or, well, she really wanted to. She would have under normal circumstances. But right now, she really didn't know. In the end she supposed it didn't really matter why he'd done it, because either way he'd shot at someone without any regard for their life. Same deal as with whoever had shot back at the clinic.
Her aim at the back of the boy's head didn't waver.
"Good." She said firmly.
She was silent for a second, trying to figure out what to do now.
...
Oh, maybe that would work.
"...Now I need you to drop your bag too. And your arrows, if they're not in the bag. And then, take her bag," she said, referring to the maybe dead girl, "and run. And keep running. If you don't, we'll know, and we'll find you and kill you." She said.
She sounded scary!

She stood silent, staring, waiting to see if Yumiko was going to do something to the boy standing across who she could barely see. He was not the one taking her eye, though that would be Kaori lying on the ground, an arrow driven into her.
Darkness can obscure many things, but the stillness? The silence? If it weren't for the two talking at each other, all Yukiko would hear is the unrelenting wind of the night and her own shivering breath in its menace.
Yumiko was threatening him; death was certain if he crossed them, that sort of thing. Yukiko had never heard her say such things before, and hearing it now... it was not pleasant. They had control, sure, but the words themselves and their meaning were things that Yukiko never expected them to use, to need to use it.
All the while her eyes kept track of the body, as if it would move away from its spot if she didn't keep looking. She had heard things and been afraid in this place, but now she could see evil that it frankly was.
There was something on the ground that wasn't Kaori...
Yukiko; with a trepid look over to her friend before taking steps towards the object with her arms dangling at her sides, walking as fast as she could. She quickly knelt down, picked up the crossbow with her left hand, and stepped back.

Tadakatsu dropped the bag, listening to it thud against the ground. They were... actually giving him a chance? It seemed too good to be true. But he might as well go for it. If they were gonna shoot him, it didn't matter what else he did.
"I'm... I'm going now. Don't shoot."
He ran over to Kaori, scooped up the bag, nearly fumbling it, and then he ran for his life.

The boy left; in a hurry with ever-distancing footsteps, taking Kaori's bag with him. Outside of that, it was just them and the wind on the beach, and she would say like earlier, but that would be a lie. Kaori was dead, someone in front of her was now a murderer, and her best friend, the one person in this place, that she knew that she could trust had just threatened someone. It was a murderer, yes, but it was something she never knew Yumiko had it in her to say to someone and the means to do something about it.
And it was the most frightening about this whole experience.
She walked forward towards the bag he had left behind. It was a hesitant walk considering it had to go past Kaori to get to it, but Yukiko tried not to dwell on the corpse near her, even if it was so hard not to, and the cover of darkness could not conceal the crime. That's why she tried to be as fast as she could, kneeling down to get the bag left behind, snatching the strap and hauling it over her shoulder.
She was starting to look like an armory: crossbow, tracker, two bags. Not exactly the image she wanted to present to people, but they would deal with that later; Yukiko marched back to Yumiko and started to step past her.
She made a brief stop in her stride.
"Yumiko... I don't want to be here anymore. Let's go." There was more she wanted to say, more she wanted to ask of her friend with answers Yukiko was afraid of, but she bit her tongue and left it at that.
She continued her walk past that, this place had seemed peaceful at first, but like the woods, the program caught them again, was there anywhere truly safe here?

...Oh gosh, she'd pretty much just robbed that boy, hadn't she? Her parents would have been so disappointed in her if they'd known.
Well... whoops? She really hadn't meant to, honest. The boy had needed to be disarmed and that'd just sort of been what had made the most sense at the -

- she didn't know what to do. She wanted to be a stronger person. She wanted to be someone like Shuya. But she didn't know what to do.
Everybody was going to die and it was just so... sad. It was just really sad. She didn't know.
"Yumiko... I don't want to be here anymore. Let's go."
Yumiko took a quiet breath in.
"...Okay." She muttered. "Okay. Yes, I agree. Let's... let's go."
She took another quiet breath in as Yukiko began to leave.
((Then, she silently followed along behind her, staring down at the ground.))
