Amaryllis Perlman-Byrne has lived in Salem her whole life. She is the lead singer and lead guitarist in a band with some of her classmates (tentatively named the Phantom Violets) whose sound has been defined by others as falling in the 'post-punk' genre. The band is trying to get active in the recently revived local music scene, where it now feels all of a sudden like there is a great possibility where just moments ago there was great void, possibility fit for one as ambitious and type-A as Amaryllis to seize upon. She is also an athlete, and has participated as a runner in track and field and a goalie in soccer in years past. These days, she's taking it slow on the sports, and would like to go camping in the forests of New England whenever she gets the chance most of the time. She is an active rock climber, and she knows how to fish. She plays in the percussion section of her school concert band and guitar in the jazz ensemble, provided it could continue; she has her own equipment so she'd be fine probably.
Let's get to her politics. She has a bit of a fiery temper, and is very political, having moved sharply leftward since she gained political consciousness roughly around the time of Canon's election. She identifies as a democratic socialist if pressed, and a communist if she feels comfortable; practically, this means she supports universal single-payer public health care, a green new deal, a living minimum wage, higher taxes on the ultra rich and wealthy, federally legalized recreational marijuana and the decriminalization of all drugs, criminal justice reform, tuition-free public university and forgiveness of student loan debt, and a bunch of other stuff. If you'd like specific confirmation on her stance on an issue, don't hesitate to ask if you think it would help your kid respond to something.
Her grades are alright. Nothing special. Not an academic standout by any stretch. I envision her as something of an outcast; she knows one or two people in each circle, enough to be a bit of a hanger on, and she's trying to live around school rather than through it, if this makes sense. She's more focused on the music aspect and trying to build a portfolio of songs. She wants to apply to the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Eugene Marcus used to wrestle, but took a really bad injury in a meet as a junior months before the pandemic and hasn't been in the ring since. He used the time recovering to get into video games, chiefly fighting games, and to watch a lot of wrestling. Olympic wrestling and also professional wrestling. He used to party a good deal before but not now. In a good spot academically, trying to get into UMass Amherst for computer science. Having a bit of a culture shock going from hardcore athlete to nerd, but basically has the ropes down by now. It might surprise people who haven't seen him since junior year before the injury, though, to know that he's more interested in the FCC than the WWE. Haha, nice. He is also much better at cooking now, and he got into poetry over quarantine too.
I think Eugene has a pretty friendly disposition, and mostly just likes to get along with people. I don't see him having many enemies. Eugene's profile isn't complete either, and I'll update this when I'm closer to that and have more to share.

Coda Taylor is a class clown. Textbook. Always making a joke here or there with their friends, or plotting one in a series of senior pranks, getting material for the several school Instagram meme accounts they run, coming up with ridiculous lyrics for their SoundCloud rap group—Coda is the most zoomer of my V8 cast. They also fence outside of school, and has fenced foil and saber in the past. They're part of the school photography club. Trying to grow out of an Elon Musk phase from before the pandemic. Likewise, some of their material is somewhat dated, politically, and occasionally a take comes out here or there that's a bit off-color. Nobody's perfect?
Coda produces beats under several aliases, which I have yet to come up with, just assume they're very Online and clever and funny. I haven't decided how good they are at rapping yet. Probably bad on purpose. But Coda is down to produce beats for any classmate who asks, and is proficient at a variety of styles. Like, they know how to use Ableton correctly. That sort of thing. Coda doesn't really have academic ambitions, and is going to apply undeclared to a bunch of colleges without application fees and just see what happens. They only just recently moved to Salem, at the start of high school, and as such they are still taken in a bit by the whole witch thing. Not a lot, but enough that Coda owns a couple of novelty tarot decks.

Kyle 'K' Emerson is a bit of an enigma. He's quiet, hangs out around town, pretty smart in math, does some music in class, has some obnoxious friends but is generally chill. Doesn't talk much in class, and always looks a little out of it. He sort of it; he likes taking long rides into the city just to take the train around and visit stuff on his own. Used to live in a town where it was safer to walk around at night, and hasn't quite grown out of that. He listens to sort of synthy gloomy lo-fi music, and likes watching live feeds online from unsecured surveillance cameras, a sort of digital people watching that compliments his own habits staring out coffee shop windows and scanning subway platform benches. Maybe has seen some shit. Is definitely hiding something.
If the marching band survived the funding cuts, K Emerson is section leader for the Clarinets. Otherwise, he holds a similar position in the concert band, and practices outside of school. This is maybe the one thing anyone can tell K has any human passion about, as they're prone to spending lots and lots of time in the practice rooms.
K is pretty unremarkable appearance-wise, but here's a short collection of picrews.
