What luck! Tania recognized everyone present. There was Sophie, whom she mostly knew from recommendations to her YouTube channel, catching fish. There was Jeanette, the nice and popular party girl, talking about fish and Bunny's sister and being kinda mean right now honestly.

Then there was Bunny herself, the aspiring actress, who was holding something that looked a lot like a gun. She was pointing it at Sophie now, when before she had pointed it at Tania herself. And now Sophie was asking Bunny to get it over with if she wanted to kill her.

It all clicked into place at once.

Catching her breath in the time it took to piece if all together she shouted, "Oh my God! Bunny are you gonna shoot Sophie? Don't, that's so not you; you're a really kind and sweet person!"

She tried to move between the two, but given she was kinda far that didn't work out so well. Her sudden movement caused her to trip and stumble to the ground. She fell forward with a loud thump. "Ow."

She was on her face now, but she couldn't stop now. "Don't do it. Please, don't." She pleaded. No one else should have to die. No one needed to hurt anyone else. She had to understand, Tania would reach her. She had to.

Give me a fucking break.

Simon had limped all the way to a lake and all he could see was a bunch of girls having a serious dilemma. He was thankful that psycho Blaine hadn't followed him and beaten his brains out of his skull with that meteor hammer. He didn't want a stalker for a killer after all. But now he had walked - or should he say limped - into a bigger mess that he didn't want to deal with. The best thing that he could do was leave. Which was actually what he was going to do.

But as he was turning to leave; his bad leg give way to the soreness and he collapsed onto his knees, letting out a small cry that he was sure that the girls have heard.

"Oh, how great." He muttered under his breath and he cursed Blaine for his injury. "....Gah...."

[Pippi]

Bunny’s father had a favourite saying. He liked to use it at the most inopportune times, mostly when something incredibly minor had inconvenienced him, like when he dropped a spoon or when he missed the opening of a TV show by two minutes, and he’d began using it more when he realised it annoyed Bunny.

It was at the forefront of Bunny’s mind now, because she couldn’t think of a situation that was actually going to hell in a handbasket faster than this one.

It had all supposed to be super simple; Bunny had a gun, people were scared of guns, people would do whatever you wanted when you pointed guns at them. That had been the plan, and with two people without anything resembling a weapon on them, it should have gone off without a hitch and without a single bullet being fired.

Instead, Sophie had dropped the fish back into the water and practically begged to be shot, Tania had tripped over in the midst of an impassioned pacifist speech, Simon Freaking Leroy of all people had turned up and decided he wanted to be a double act with Tania, and Jeanette…

Well, Jeanette was a colossal bitch. Some things never changed.

All eyes were on Bunny, and she was quickly gaining cold feet. This was getting to be too much, too fast. She could leave, now, and forget this entire ordeal had ever happened. Leave, and hope that everybody forgot about this as they scrambled to survive the upcoming days.

Leave, and leave her dignity and credibility behind her.

Now, did that sound like Bunny at all?

She forced a charming smile back at Jeanette, hoping the girl didn’t notice how much her eyes weren’t smiling. The spotlight was still on her. She still had a gun, and that made her the boss, here. She was gonna see this through until she was done, or she was well and truly out of control.

“Gosh, you guys all seem to be leaping to murder quickly, don’t you?” Bunny said, voice light and airy, trying desperately to stop Tania’s words from circling around her head. “Bit of a guilty conscience, maybe?”

She giggled, and strode towards Jeanette.

“Well, aside from you, Jean Genie, but then again I doubt you could spell conscience, let alone know what one was!”

The gun was pointed directly at Jeanette’s chest, the barrel a few inches away from touching her. Bunny locked eyes with the girl for several seconds, before giggling again and walking past her, making sure she bumped into Jeanette with her bag.

“I don’t want to shoot you, Sophie,” Bunny said, walking in the direction of Simon. “All I wanted was to see Fishy again, but I guess I can’t now.”

She sighed dramatically.

“So, I’d just love to have some of your supplies as compensation”

Bunny pointed the gun at Simon’s collapsed form, then turned back to look at the other three.

“Otherwise, I’m not gonna be a happy Bunny, and neither will Simon here.”

Bunny said she wasn't going to shoot Sophie. Sophie lowered her head in relief. She had thought that Bunny would have really given in that early, but maybe she wasn't.

That didn't mean Bunny was going to be a decent person. Bunny was now demanding some supplies for compensation. Sophie turned around and saw the two new people. The other girl wasn't Bunny's twin, but Tania Chell. Suddenly, there was guy here. Simon. Now Bunny was threatening Simon.

"Why could you possibly need supplies?" Sophie asked.

Sophie stared at Bunny.

"We just started this game. You can't be low on anything. Stealing from us means nothing at this point unless you want to make us die of thirst or something three days from now. And really, if you're just going to do that, maybe you should just shoot us."

Sophie stepped a bit away from the lake, leaving the fishing pole right where it was. Maybe it was the fear of dying, maybe it was the awareness of her own mortality, but for some reason, Sophie didn't have any issues being honest with this girl. If she was going to die, she may as well let her killer know what she thinks about them.

"Bunny, you seem really set on being everything these terrorists want us to be right now, but quite frankly, you're acting really dumb. You're not intimidating, you're not really that villainous, and no one here seems to really be taking you that seriously. You had an easy kill that could have been the one kill to send you home, and yet you gave that up for more posturing and throwing violent threats towards another random person here.

"So please, stop trying to act like a villain and just go away."

Sophie was trying to be nice. Or at least, nicer than Jeanette. She tried to defuse the situation, to calm down Bunny. The animal-themed girl wasn't going to just stop and drop everything, blubber out an apology and run off. No, she had her pride to fight for, or something like that. Plus she wanted to be an actress and Jeanette assumed she was going to use what happened to her as a platform to become famous like Oprah. No, Oprah did interviews, she wasn't an actress but Jeanette knew what she meant: to become famous.

That seemed like the thing that drove Bunny into pointed a gun at them, having a "look-how-much-better-I-am" talk with them and then threatening to rob them.

Jeanette wasn't going to take Sophie's way. Perhaps it could work but Jeanette didn't care. She restrained herself not to give her a shove into the water when she came near her. Jeanie almost considered stopping herself from slapping her with her open hand but the second that the fat bitch bumped her with her bag, Jeanette felt her blood going to her brain.

How dare she? They were trading insults and that was fine. She learned something from the party scene: if someone starts a fight, they needed to end it. It was how it worked and Jeanette just played along with the rules. So, Jeanette insulted her. That's all, insults, trading verbal blows. That was expected: Jeanette knew what she was getting into but when Bunny touched Jeanette: all Hell broke loose inside of her.

Tania was being, well, herself. She was the farthest and she was tired from what appeared to be running with a coat of some sort, perhaps her assigned weapon. Sophie was taking the nice way and she obviously tried to reason with her, make her chill. Simon was out of service: he appeared wounded and/or tired but she couldn't be sure of what was going on since he was behind Bunny.

Jeanette didn't not give a fuck.

"Shut your whore mouth, Piggy!"

She reached out for a rock the size of a muffin and threw it at the girl with the gun.

"You are just a dumb coke whore seeking for attention, nobody will ever love you!"

Jeanette snatched off a smaller rock and hurled it at Bunny.

"Plus conscience is C-O-N-S-C-I-E-N-C-E! Dumb blond bitch, you can't even count to ten!"

Mostly Tania enjoyed observing people, watching them and staying off to the side being minimally involved. Mostly, she liked being around others living their lives and doing their own things. Mostly, she didn't need to insert herself into situations because she felt she didn't need to. Things would resolve themselves.

Today, things were not resolving themselves. Things were getting steadily worse and that was hard to say given what had already happened on the bus. She still had the blood and gore stains from her teacher's exploded head on her jacket underneath her vest. Yet somehow three, well two because at least Sophie was still being nice-ish, girls were going at each other's throats trading venomous barbs and threats and everything that was ugly and awful and made Tania feel sad sometimes about people.

How could this be happening? Just because they were all scared and alone and afraid and alone and probably gonna die and had seen someone die right in front of them oh god I spoke to him when I got on the bus I told him this was going to be a great trip and I couldn't do anything I was so scared so scared so frightened and I just I can't do this I don't know I need to do something Sophie and Jeanette and Bunny and now Simon and me and someone else might die I don't want anyone to I don't I can't I won't see someone else die I just—

Tania became aware she was hyperventilating her senses suddenly came flooding back with that realization. "This isn't right. This needs to stop. Why is everyone trying to hurt each other? Even if no one's hitting or shooting anyone, we're fighting and I hate it. I hate all of it." The vest was too heavy and she was too tired to get up. All she could do was keep talking or start crying.

So she started crying.

It was about all she was good for at the moment.

What had he got himself into? No, seriously, why was this getting more out of hand? Simon didn't know why everyone had a different role here. It didn't feel real to him, but it was real and that was giving him a splitting headache. Just hearing the girls go back and fore was making him want to explode. But he wouldn't. Not now. Not in a very tense moment like this anyway.

If he was thinking about the girls correctly; then Bunny was threatening him and basically demanding supplies that she did not deserve, Sophie was trying to defuse things as far as he could see, Jeanette was being a complete idiot and Tania was trying to be a peacemaker while crying.

Simon let out a sigh of disbelief.

"....This is getting us nowhere, you know." He said simply, not being scared of Bunny's weapon and he winced slightly over his leg. Stupid Blaine. "Tania's right. We need to cool our heads and try to get along. Right?"

Was he really saying those words? Maybe to save his own butt. But it was obvious that Bunny wasn't going to shoot him. He didn't think she was like Blaine.

He glanced over at Tania who was still crying and he give her a small, reassuring smile. He had to play along as a good-ish guy for now. He had to be patient before he could get the one kill that he needed. He had to play it smart for now. Don't let it turn out like with Natali and Blaine.

She needed to leave.

She really needed to leave, right now, as fast as possible, because good grief had this entire shebang spun wildly out of her control. Bunny stepped backwards, almost tripping over Simon, unable to hide her alarm as the first stone spun perilously close to her, skidding along the ground an inch away from her legs and splattering her tights with mud.

Christ. Maybe Sophie was right. You couldn’t just half-ass being a bad guy, just like you couldn’t half-ass any performance. You had to commit fully to it, and desperately wanting to avoid using your goddamn weapon was not committing to anything. And look what it had got her; nothing but stones and slurs slung at her. Tania was literally the only one reacting like they were supposed to.

Bunny swallowed, then prepared to raise her arms in surrender. She would leave, and the only thing hurt would be Bunny’s pride and self-esteem. She’d find a different group of people, and she’d try and start over.

Then the second rock cracked against her forehead and she saw red.

She pointed the gun straight at Jeanette now. This bitch. This stupid, idiotic, colossal bitch. She’d been needling at Bunny, at the person with a gun, nonstop since she’d arrived, and, like a rat constantly prodding at the cheese in a trap, she was about to get her comeuppance.

Bunny’s finger curled around the trigger. Even now, she still couldn’t quite bring herself to pull it. There just needed to be something more to push her over the edge.

And then she got her wish as she literally saw red, blood dripping down her forehead and across her vision, blurring her sight in conjunction with the tears, and she desperately attempted to maintain the illusion that she was completely under control as she opened her mouth to yell at Jeanette.

“You cunt! Fuck you!”

A spray of bullets flew from the gun, the recoil almost sending Bunny stumbling again, her aim completely off thanks to the blood in her eyes and her complete and utter lack of gun training. She spun round to face Sophie, breathing heavily.

“You gonna take me seriously now, wiseass? You gonna give me what I want?”

Things were quickly going down the drain with how Jeanette and Bunny were reacting to one another. A rock was thrown, and now bullets were flying through the air. Sophie covered her ears and bent over when she heard the gun go off. It was much louder than she thought, and it was clear that it could fire a lot at once. Sophie imagined a hail of bullets tearing through her body, shredding through her like acid rain on a sidewalk-sold umbrella.

Once Bunny stopped firing, she once again turned to Sophie. Sophie adjusted herself, closed her eyes, and sighed.

"I am taking you seriously," Sophie said, opening her eyes. "I'm taking you seriously because I know what you can do. But you know what, let me at least do something for you then."

Sophie straightened her back, pushing her chest forward a bit, and walked back over to the rock she was previously sitting at. Her issued bag was still lying on the ground. She grabbed the bag off the ground, holding it by one strap in front of her.

"You can have all my food. I got a fishing pole as my weapon, and as we just saw, I have the makings of a master fisherwoman. Food is not an issue for me here.

"You already have a map and a first aid kit, so you don't need mine. Humans need water more than food, so I want to at least keep whatever clean water I have.

"I'll give you all the food in my bag, but I have one condition. If you can fulfill that, then you can have it and run away to do whatever you want."

Sophie stared at Bunny. She prayed the girl would be open to negotiating, especially since she was sure the girl wouldn't find her condition such a poor trade-off.

Blood. Pain. Anger.


All things that Jeanette didn't feel but that Bunny ached from. Only one of the rock she threw landed but the one that hit the target landed right on her forehead, splitting in it half.

Bunny wasn't really happy about that: she fired her own ammunition toward Jeanette. They didn't hit, at least not totally. Jeanette didn't receive a gut shot or something lethal, but she felt the bullet's whistle, went right beside her ear. It could have torn it if it landed a little bit more left, or Jeanette could have died if it landed where she had hit Bunny in the face.

Good thing an eye for an eye wasn't a thing that happened here because the second bullet hurt. When she got hit, she just felt shock. She fell backward then she felt pain. The bullet went through her left biceps. Entered from the front and left from the back, and she felt it go through.

She didn't know any better than slap her gunshot wound with her right hand, trying her best to stop the bleeding. It bled so much, her sleeve was soaked and her lower arm was drowning in the red liquid. There were other bullets but she wasn't hit by them. She didn't know if she wanted to be happy or sad, maybe they would have spread the pain around.

Her vision started blurring. She bit her tongue. She raised herself.

Blood covered her body and it hurt more than anything she had ever felt before. She needed to run away while Bunny was busy with Sophie. Fuck her and her stupid morals, she should have whacked her with the fishing pole. She was trying to trade for her life and it annoyed Jeanette.

She looked at Tania then look at Sophie. If she ran toward Tania, she could escape somewhere, if she ran to Sophie, she could keep her pride.

She chose both. She started to run full force toward Bunny and decided tackled her with her right shoulder. She was a small and weak girl, but she had the element of surprise. Bunny didn't see her coming: she was blinded by the blood in her eyes.

Still clutching to her wound with her right hand, she smashed her own body against the girl with the bigger body.

"Go meet your sister, dumb ho."

Everything went to hell and all Tania could do was keep crying. She instinctively covered her head when she heard the gunfire and she tried to curl up into as small a space as possible.

"STOP! STOP IT! STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP!" She repeated her cries over and over to no avail. It wasn't so much for the others, it was mostly for herself.

She wanted to run away from the reality of this situation, but it seemed fate wanted her to deal with it. The only way she knew how to deal with this all was simply to cry, scream, and make herself as small and annoying as possible.

Maybe then this would all go away.

[Primrosette]

Simon just flinched as the gunfire went off and he closed his eyes for a few seconds. Then he opened them again to watch the scene unfolding in front of him. Everything was spiralling more out of control and all he could do was sit there with an injured leg that he was afraid would get worse. Not that that mattered right now.

"What the heck...?" He murmured under his breath and he glanced at his bag. Did he have anything that he could use? No, no. He didn't want to chance it. Bunny was a highly dangerous person with a gun and he rather not put himself in unnecessary danger.

His eyes widened a little as he watched Jeanette basically barging right into Bunny. What the hell was she doing? Well, as long as he wouldn't get shot....

He wished that Tania would shut up though. Her freakout wasn't helping things. But he wouldn't snap at her. As much as he wanted to. He had to leave these girls somehow. But with his leg being a problem for him, he was willing to stay put for the time being.

Okay.

Okay okay okay.

Okay…

Good! Yes, wow, holy crap, this had actually worked! Even in her enraged outburst, Bunny had tried to be totally reasonable with her request. Like, in a choice between all of your rations, that you actually factually had in front of you, and a fishing pole to catch food, which didn’t exist yet and might not ever if you were cruddy at fishing, the rations won out every time, even if they probably did taste like stale cardboard. She’d wanted the fish originally because, well, it was right there in front of her, and she’d demanded the fishing pole because she figured it’d be a much more reasonable request when she was on the back foot.

But then Sophie had offered her rations anyway! Bunny took a couple of deep breaths, slowly calming herself down to a more rational state, and tapped her finger on her chin, as if this was a decision she’d have to think long and hard about. Sure, take your fishing rod, Soph. Have fun using it when the lake became a danger zone or the fish decided ‘no dice!’

As for whatever her ‘condition’ would be… well, Bunny was the master of the little white lie.

Bunny gave a big warm grin towards Sophie, and wiped the blood from her left eye, just in time to see Jeanette inches from her, hatred scrawled on her face. Her shoulder smashed into Bunny’s chest with a vicious crack, and this time, Bunny couldn’t stop herself from falling, slamming into the dirt, vision spinning as her head collided with the ground. The gun flew from her hand, spinning off to the side, but there was no time for her to try and scrabble to recover it; Jeanette was right on top of her. Bunny spat at her, launching a flurry of kicks at the girl’s midriff.

“What… the hell… is your problem… bitch?”

Sophie remained patient, waiting to see Bunny's reaction. She was hopeful the girl would just take the food and leave. It had to be a fair trade, and unless Bunny was really determined to be a murderer, they could leave with no casualties. Sophie had to hope Bunny would take it.

Before the trade could be agreed, Jeanette tackled Bunny. Sophie's eyes widened as she saw the two girls start to fight. Tania was freaking out as Bunny and Jeanette exchanged blows. Sophie lowered the bag and looked around. She saw the girls fighting, the two laying nearby, the gun on the ground, and her fishing pole. Everything was changing so quickly. Bunny was now punching Jeanette. Sophie had to do something to get them to stop.

She had an idea.

"Hey, Bunny!" she yelled.

Sophie then ran over to where Bunny's gun was. She raised her foot behind her, then swung it forward. Her foot connected with the machine pistol, which sent it skittering across the ground and into the lake.

"Everyone! Run!" she shouted.

She ran back to the fishing pole, scooping it up. The pole wouldn't mean much against a gun, but it was still a tool she could survive with. Sophie didn't have time to look to where everyone else was, but she had her bag and her pole, so she continued to run.

She hurried towards the nearest bunch of trees. She couldn't stay at the lake if Bunny was armed and dangerous. At the very least, she gave everyone a chance to run away. Sophie still had all her supplies and her assigned weapon. She could probably get away from a bit, and maybe she'd see Jeanette, Tania, or Simon soon.

But there was one thing that Sophie knew: if she was going to die here, she may as well spend her time doing the right thing when the chance came. She may have only stopped Bunny temporarily, but there had to be some payoff to this action. There had to be something good to come out of being here.

Sophie did something proactive instead of bargaining with a crazy girl. Jeanette was pleasantly surprised when she saw her kick away the gun into the water, drowning the weapon that made a hole in her left arm.

While she didn't like getting kicked in the abdomen, she was gleeful. Happy an serene. She was smiling, even though her body ached from her injuries, she was glad that Bunny was figuratively and literally knocked down a notch.

Still clutching her left arm, feeling the blood oozing out the gunshot wound, she raised herself. She didn't know what to do. Just leave? No, she wanted Bunny to feel dumb, to prove Jeanette's point that Bunny was the dumbest bitch at the lake.. She stared at Bunny and spat in her face.

"You. You're my fucking problem, you crusty vagina-looking turd."

She stepped on her hand holding her bag, pressing on her wrist.

"You're lucky I'm just taking your bag."

She stepped on her hand until she left it go, Bunny moaning a little from the defeat. Jeanette grabbed the bag with her hand on the intact arm and slung it over her shoulder. She put her hand back on the wound, trying to limit her bleeding.

"I'm out."

She turned toward the others, flashing her best smile.

"Please take care of yourselves, and be safe. Okay? Okay."
