[[ Coming From Just A Mirage ]]
Running, running and running, that was all she could do until it got to the point she was thought she was just going to collapse and pass out from the lack of oxygen she was getting in her lungs, her pace slowing and slowing until she could only move at a slow walk, hand pressed against her chest as she breathed deeply. Face slightly flushed as she glanced back, wondering if that girl that had pretty much given the chance to escape from that boy with the gun – trying to calm down her breathing to a calmer pace and try and keep her heart from just bursting out of her chest, allowing her steps to finally come to a pause and stop altogether, bending at her back and pressing her hands against her knees, sighing lightly and pushing herself back upright.
If she thought she was lost before, then now she was just fucking lost now, glancing around at all the trees that where surrounding her, she didn't even think that she was any where near the path she had been walking on. Forcing her sore legs to begin moving, pressing on until she came to a break in the trees as they met a hill before the trees just continuing on, but she no longer cared about the trees more focused on just what was sitting on top of the hill itself. It almost looked like a clock tower – minus well the clock face of course – or maybe even a watch tower, at the top of something like that one could probably see the whole the island, see anyone who tried to get near...
Though then she had to deal with the fact that there might already be people up there, but it was a chance worth trying... forcing herself into a jog again as she made her way up the hill, almost tripping over her own feet once or twice as she made her way to the top, finally managing it after a few moments and approaching the building glancing the side she was facing noting no door of any sort. Sighing a bit and continuing along, following the building around to another side and spotting a small door thrown open, the wind causing its rusty hinges to creak and band lightly against the wall behind it, approaching the doorway and poking her head into the building.
It didn't look like anyone had been in here in a very long time, chair where broken and thrown on the ground, and dirty papers seemed to litter the floor of the small room, a visible set of stairs toward the back. A map, of what seemed to be the same island they where on, covered part of one wall – though faded and tearing in areas, a bed frame pushed against another. Stepping in slowly as she kept a hand pressed near the zipper of her daypack, listening carefully for any sudden sounds around or above her, though after a moment and hearing nothing she let out a slow sigh and moved into the room fully, glancing back toward the open door and wondering if that girl – Madison wasn't it? She thought that was it anyway, roaming about the ground-floor room for a couple of minutes and just getting the layout in her head.
Moving toward the stairs case and glancing up, tilting her head before backing away and moving back across the room and glancing outside again for any sign of that girl, frowning and rubbing at the back of her neck, she didn't want to really close up and bar the door if there was a chance she'd come along, Izzy knew she'd just feel awful doing something like that. Shaking her head and turning away to lower the bag to the floor, crouching down and removing her purse she had granted in keeping as well, though it had hardly anything useful. Just a notepad, a couple of pens, games and her camera – nothing at all that would help her out at all, removing her phone and placing it almost the her other things, cutting it off in around to save at least some power.
Unzipping the daypack she spent a moment digging around until she produced the chain-like weapon she had been assigned, wishing perhaps she had actually taken the effort in learning a skill that involved weaponry, though she guessed she might be able to handle defending herself as long as it wasn't against a gun, sword, axe, flamethrower... sighing lightly as she clutched the object in one hand and pushed herself to stand again. Izzy standing still for a long moment before taking a curious swing of the weapon, rather disliking the weight of it, it would slow her down a considerable amount, though at the same time if she struck someone hard enough, it might give her a chance to escape the situation she found herself in.
... Would that be how she spent the last days of her life, running away until someone finally shot her in the back? Sighing, she turned away and moved toward the small corner table and laying the weighted chain down on it, almost afraid that it would break under it's weight for a moment, judging it safe after a moment and moving back toward away, folding her arms across her chest though keeping close to the table and the weapon just in case as she watched the door for any signs of that girl or rather... anyone else.

Upon waking up, the first thing that had raced through Keith Jackson's mind was a steady stream of profanities that would have put some of the more foul-mouthed members of his football team to shame. Keith was never the kind of guy who had trouble getting up in the morning, and as soon as he regained consciousness, he sprang to his feet, in a half-panic, looking around the area. Where he'd woken up was really just a nondescript little wooded area that didn't seem to belong to anywhere in particular. In that particular aspect of things, he supposed that he'd gotten lucky.
But then, in a situation like this, luck was a subjective kind of beast. Keith really knew the truth - he was fucked, and the only kind of luck that was poised to come his way were varying shades of bad.
Giving his head a bit of a shake, solely to try and discourage the headache that seemed to be the after-effect of the gas, he glanced around to find out where his pack was. His number was stencilled upon the side, and Keith paid it no heed. What did it say about the situation that he was in when he was assigned a number and expected to act like a little lab rat. It sickened him. The whole goddamn thing made him sick to his stomach. Picking up his pack, Keith had unzipped it and reached in to see what kind of ridiculous item fate had stuck him for a defense mechanism.
Pulling out the impressive-looking shotgun had been the absolute last thing that Keith expected to have happen to him. He'd heard people talk about the prior version of this hellish terrorist program, but hadn't ever paid it much heed. All he knew was that some people got screwed from the very beginning, drawing poor weapons and not even being able to defend themselves.
Well now I sure as hell can defend myself...
Frowning as he loaded the shotgun and packed away the extra shells, Keith posed himself the same question that a great many students were probably asking themselves at the same time: could he really play the game? Games were things that he enjoyed playing - hell, he had a level 70 Mage, a 69 Rogue and a 63 Warrior in World of Warcraft, and if that didn't show his dedication to gaming, he didn't know what did. The real issue, he figured, was that in this game, once you died, you didn't get to walk back to your corpse and continue going. Once you died here, that was it - the game was over.
Sighing to himself, Keith knew what his eventual fate would be. Playing this game? Seeking people out and killing them? Wasn't his style. He'd always thought of himself as a fairly benevolant kind of guy, probably a decent kind of kid with a bit of a tendancy to be an asshole, but who wasn't like that? Killing people? It didn't fit in with who he was.
Can't be like that fucking Dodd kid, and kill - what was it? Fifteen people? Twenty? Who the fuck knows how many that loony tune blew away before he got off...
Stiffening, Keith internally cursed the revelation that he'd just had. That 'loony tune'? He'd been on the bus with everyone else, so unless he'd been shot, or worse - was cooperating with the terrorists and was the reason they were here, was probably on the island too.
And Keith KNEW that Adam Dodd would undoubtedly be a player.
Suddenly feeling incredibly exposed and uncomfortable, Keith high-tailed it down the path, ducking behind any trees or bushes that he could as he tried to make his way to somewhere...anywhere that had more shelter than his current position. He figured that his best plan would be to meet up with his little group of friends - Kallie, Darnell, Steve...all of them were part of his little clique, and that's what friends did, right? Stuck together?
Better fuckin' hope so, because the last fuckin' thing I wanna have happen is get backstabbed by a buddy.
As he wandered along, he silently hoped that he encountered a friendly face sooner than later. Hell, even Simon Wood, his WoW buddy, would do. That thought brought some guilt to the forefront. Simon was a good guy, and the two got along so well online. But thanks to how the social world worked, Simon was an outcast; a nerd, if you will. And Keith? Keith was a member of the 'popular clique'. He was a jock, an athlete - that guy who you always see in the middle of everything. And more than once, he'd treated his friend poorly. He'd always felt horrible, and tried to apologize, but Simon had understood - at least, Keith figured that he did, because he always brushed it off and told him not to worry about it.
High school...does funny fuckin' things to you, doesn't it?
But here? Here, groups didn't matter anymore. The nerds, it was here that they'd get their revenge on the jocks, that the bullied would become the aggressors. This was where the world turned upside-down, and Keith Jackson found himself on the wrong end of that.
It made him feel that much better than he'd whipped a shotgun out of his pack.
After much bolting across the island, Keith finally came to what looked like a cross between a tower and a lighthouse. It actually resembled one of those old military lookout towers, the kind that he'd seen in movies.
It's worth a shot, yeah? What's the worst that can happen? Some crazy fucker's barracaded themselves in there and won't let me in? Provided he doesn't have a grenade launcher, or the power to shoot fireballs, I should be good to go.
Creeping up to the front door of the Tower, Keith hesitantly knocked on the door, and called out to see if anyone was inside (who might respond). He couldn't assume that EVERYONE was playing the game. After all - it takes a certain kind to be able to look someone in the eye and pull the trigger to end their life, and Keith wasn't sure that half his graduating class had it in them.
"Hello? Anybody home? Look, if anyone's in there, I don't wanna hurt anyone! I just wanna get the hell out of plain sight, y'know? It's, uh...it's Keith Jackson...and if anyone's in there, I'd really...really appreciate being let in. Well...provided you don't plan on shooting me in the face or anythin' like that...."
Holding his breath, Keith waited to see if anyone would respond.

In the time she had been waiting for Madison to show up she had decided it was probably in her best interest to close and lock up the door, remaining standing near the old table and gazing over her 'weapon' every so often, foot tapping against the wooden floor in a tune she couldn't place at the moment, but it helped pass the time... the silence having made her even more nervous and concerned, so tapping her foot and humming a tune in her head seemed to be the only thing that was helping Izzy to keep from doing something stupid... like screaming again or something. She also had the increasing urge to go up the stairs and try and get a good look of the landscape, of this hellish place that they had been thrown on too and forced to attack... to kill their friends.
But she couldn't just leave the door unguarded, what if someone tried to break in? Even still, chewing lightly on her lip she still didn't know how much she was possible of doing, besides trying to bash whoever was trying to break in on the head and hoped they'd pass out or something, with hopefully not to much damage to the person in question... not much anyway, trying to break in they would deserve something. Lost in her thoughts about the possible outcome of her dealing with possible break-ins she almost missed the sounds of knocking against the door, snapping her mouth shut as her body jumped in shock. Damn, damn, damn... reaching over she took a hold of the weight chain, standing in place as she stared uncertainly at the door.
The voice though shocked her more, swallowing somewhat, putting a name to the face remembering the boy from around school, lips forming into a frown. Beyond that though she thought they might actually have a class together, but beyond that there was nothing more... and what was stopping him from hurting her if she actually did open up? Her mind was split in to two parts, unable to bring herself to settle on a answer, finally breathing out a soft sound and slowly moving toward the door, gripping lightly at the handle and biting down once more on her lip, finding herself laughing lightly in thought over the words having been spoken.
"I—I could ask you the same thing, 'ya know?" Izzy returned lightly, gripping harder at her weapon, hand shaking as she slowly popped the rusty lock and crack the door open ever so slightly, blue eyes blinking as she pulled it open further, freezing up at the sight of the shotgun. "I really-really wanna believe there's some good left in our classmates, even... even in a situation like this." She continued, chewing on her lip more, and finally taking a deep breath and just pushing the door open, "But yeah, come in – hell, the worst that can happen is you shooting me with that thing, though with all this that might be a quicker death that what some might go through. Hopefully you're not the last guy trying to get weapons either," Izzy continued, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear as she flashed the chain in her hand.
"Because you won't have too much luck with me, but anyway it's Keith, right? Well, I'm Zhi—I'm Izzy."

When Trey Leyton, Male Student Number 30, first awoke on the island, he went through what a lot of the students went through. Confusion, denial, then acceptance of his fate. Though have those nun chucks, or what were they officially called, Nunchaku? Well, he wasn't too impressed with the weapon. He wasn't Asian and didn't know martial arts, but he wasn't complaining. He figured it was strong enough to swing at someone and cause some serious damage.
After delaying the inevitable though, by searching through his pack methodically, he knew he had to move. That's when he saw the lookout tower in the distance. Trey wasn't willing to play this game, or to harm anyone, especially his friends. He just wanted to live. He just wanted to go home, wrestle for the college that recruited him, do teenager things. However, in the back of his mind, he acknowledged the fact that this was all just a fleeting dream.
He was on this island now, thrust into it without warning, and now that he found himself approaching the lookout tower, his mind racing.
What happens if people are inside?
What if they are playing the game?
No, no one would play this game. Maybe I know them.
Trey continued to approach the lookout tower, still a little distance away, gripping his black nun chucks. That's when he heard something. Fear struck him as he crouched down, holding his breath without realizing it. Voices. He heard voices. The tower?
Trey continued to crouch forward, until he could see the clearing and the lookout tower, and a boy standing at the door. Trey couldn't make out who the boy way, or even what he was saying, but seeing someone else made everything more real to Trey.
What if he's playing? Does that mean someone's inside?
Trey stayed crouch, waiting to see what happened before he decided if it was safe to continue to the tower, or to turn tail and run.

(Madison Conner continued from Just a Mirage)
Madison Conner felt nauseous. Like she was about to vomit every single molecule inside of her. Her stomach was going numb, and her lungs were gasping and coughing violently for some form of oxygen. Tears had started to pour like the drops emanating from a water fountain, blinding her sight just enough to make her stop and wipe her eyes with a sleeve of her black silk shirt. Her right hand felt painfully numb, clenched around her assigned axe while her left had a very good grip on her bag. Her mind kept trying to remember just how long she had been running for, but she knew that there was not one moment that she stopped. Not to catch her breath, nor to even see if anyone had followed her all this way. It would prove very strange if that was the case. Madison had been chasing after the girl who she had met at the hollowed out tree, and she hadn't even considered that someone else was doing the exact same with her. She shuddered, looking behind her. No one was behind her, or so it appeared. Just a lonely, emotionally-damaged Madison Conner.
Madison didn't run into anyone else. It was both a good thing and a bad thing. She didn't have the misfortune to run into another gun-toting maniac on her jog (which was a huge understatement), but that also meant that she didn't run into anyone she knew either. She had however caught a glimpse of a figure walking aimlessly out of the corner of her eye but she really wasn't focused on him or her. It was actually starting to become very apparent that Madison was just as oblivious as that wanderer. She not only had lost track of whomever she was chasing after (or so she had thought), she also contemplated that she was lost in general. No... she was lost. She didn't even have to think too hard to arrive at that conclusion.
Her body felt like it was collapsing in on itself. She felt like she was dying. Letting her left arm drop her bag on the ground, she wrapped herself around a tree trunk in an attempt at keeping her balance. "Jesus... c-christ..." she gawked, her legs trembling like branches being hit by a violent wind. Her axe spiked the ground softly, her grip on the weapon starting to weaken as she struggled to regain her energy. She bit her lip.
There was something that seemed to nag in Madison's mind the minute she looked up from the ground. A tower. A lookout tower from the appearance of it. The trees that were all around Madison seemed to block most of it out of her sight, but she could still see it. Why would there be a lookout tower in the middle of a tropical island? Madison mused before drawing sudden conclusions in her head as to where she was. There was only one reason for someone to build a watch tower, and that was for defense. A fort. A resistance point. A sanctuary. A safe haven. And from the fact that there seemed no visible signs of anyone else passing by, it was the perfect place Madison could find shelter in. Well... perfect was too strong of a word, but it was better than staying outside where most of the kids who were actually playing the game were lurking.
She stumbled across a hill that was leading in the direction of the soaring tower, draping her pack around her left shoulder, the axe still glued to her right hand. The axe was heavy at first but the more and more Madison lugged it around, the more and more it became lighter. She certainly could swing it with only one arm though. And that was part of the problem, and was why she desperately wanted shelter. The thought that anyone else could have found residence at that same spot didn't occur to Madison.
Well... that was until she could see the front entrance to her so-called refuge.
Another gun. Madison froze in fear.
D-d-damn it! Another one?
As it was in her overly-assumptions personality, Madison quickly hid behind the closest tree she could find, hoping she really didn't make too much noise. This was certainly a surprise. She had run away from someone with a gun to run into another with a gun. And not just any gun. A shotgun. A gun that she knew could blow a huge hole where her head should be. Madison's body trembled, still having a tight grip on her weapon but having accidentally dropped her pack on the ground in the opening. No one with normal eyes would be able to spot it, but what if this guy was the exception? Madison peered over the edge of the tree.
The figure (who was way too far away to get a good look at) was near the entrance of the watchtower. Maybe he would just leave and Madison could come out of hiding. The door to the lighthouse opened. Madison eyes squinted but she couldn't even make out neither of the two figures. If that guy really was going to use that shotgun he would have used it already. He wouldn't wait around for someone to open the door just so he could kill whoever is in there. I guess... I've got no reason to worry. Still... Not taking any chances, she didn't move one inch away from the trunk of the tree. For some reason that she couldn't understand, Madison was trying her best not to be completely frozen with fear.

Listening to the girl - Izzy, as she opened the door and peered through, Keith flashed her as big a smile as he could muster considering the circumstances and made his way into the tower, closing the door behind him. Looking at Izzy now, he held out his hand into the friendly gesture of a handshake.
"Look, girl...I'm not the shootin' people in the face kinda' guy, y'know? I guess I just got lucky in case anyone decided to do it to me. So from this point forward, my luck...is your luck, because it doesn't look like you made out all that well with the ol' luck of the draw."
Making his way out of the doorway and further into the room, Keith sized up his newfound ally. She was short, and definitely not a physical threat by any means. That meant that any kind of defending this stronghold would have to be done by him, and him alone. Thinking back to school, Keith tried to think of whereabouts he'd seen Izzy before. He was fairly certain that she'd attended at least one football game, and he'd seen her around school a few different times doing some kind of crazy martial arts in the morning. From what he knew of her, she was weird...
...but not a cold-blooded killer, and that's a positive if I've ever seen one!
Looking at the shotgun in his hands, he sighed, almost not even believing what was going on. Here he was, evaluating a fellow classmate's ability to be useful in a fight to the death. It was messed up, and he knew it. But all he could do was cope...
"So...uhh...yeah. I don't mean you any harm or anything, so...you can relax a bit, y'know? So, uhh...I've seen you around school, right? Like...you do your crazy moving thing in the morning, or something?"
Wincing internally at his almost brutish sense of description, Keith made a mental note that if he managed to survive the night, he'd put some of that old intelligence to good use, and stop talking like a complete idiot.
Easier said than done...
His face darkened slightly as he remembered the other place that he'd seen Izzy.
"...and you're basically the only person I've ever seen who hangs around...uh...HIM."
Keith couldn't help but bring up Dodd again. The former winner of this exact situation couldn't be a reliable ally in this situation, in fact he was fairly certain that the boy would've started playing and had probably got his first kill by now. He was likely that much further ahead of everyone else, it was the experience factor.
But I can't worry about him as much as I can all the people who might be ready to kill who I wouldn't expect...can't let my ol' guard down for a second...
Looking at Izzy, he waited for her to respond, hoping that he wasn't making a very serious, and fatal mistake by the amount that he'd just relaxed as he'd entered the building.

Izzy allowed herself to move back as the boy moved in, pursing her lips somewhat and looking off – really hoping she hadn't made a mistake in letting him in, put if he did want to kill her or something it probably would have already happened and anyway... he didn't seem like the kind of person that would be one of the ones to snap and start blasting people around the island, she didn't know him personally, she knew him from around school sure, he was one of those guys that fell into the popular circle of student life. They had a class or two throughout high school, and he always seemed... nice enough in class, and unless the entire cheerleading squad usually never heard anything pouring out of the rumor mill about him.
She gave a bit of a look at his statement, but moved and brushed a loose strand of hair away from her face and behind her ear as she reached out and took his hand and shook it lightly before letting it drop back to her side, moving off toward where the table once and once again moving to rest the chain against it. Taking a moment to take a deep breath and sigh before turning back to look at Keith as he spoke again, giving him a terribly curious look at his words concerning her morning practices she had done from time to time before she found herself chuckling, but nodding somewhat. "Yeah, that's me... doing the whole 'crazy moving thing' and I certainly wouldn't blame you if you haven't seen me around, not to many look down as they walk."
Letting out another sigh, she allowed herself to run fingers shakily though her hair, "As for the relax thing, little easier said then done, ya know? Thrown into something like this I'm surprised I really have any nerves left."
Gazing off she found herself worrying about Madison again, hoping that, that freaky Paul kid hadn't given chase or anything, or that she hadn't run into anyone else, the poor girl seemed at her wits ends over all of this, brought back to the present though as Keith spoke again. Of course, it didn't take a lot of thought to know just who it was Keith was speaking about, after all a lot of conversation after the two of them started hanging out started like this. Because with a lot of people it just seemed the same thing, never, ever looking past what had happened... Izzy found herself frowning at this, but nodding anyway. "Yeah... Adam, you mean? He's actually a really good... friend of mine." She returned, folding her arms across her waist lightly, mind wondering and finding she was still horribly worried about him and his well-being.

Keith had started to lean against the wall as Izzy had spoken, and had raised an eyebrow in surprise when Izzy had confessed to being close friends with Adam motherfucking Dodd. The kid who nobody wanted anything to do with, the one who had no dirty secrets, because they were all out in the open.
And this girl was able to be friends with him? Or...or was it more than that? Keith recalled a slight hesitation in her voice as she'd spoke, mind obviously elsewhere. He couldn't help recalling a faint memory about prom voting, and the one time he'd ever talked to Adam Dodd, whose locker apparently ended up being next to his. The kid creeped him out, really, and he could positively say that he'd rather have as little to do with him on this island as he could. But if this girl was close to Dodd...
Goddamnit, ain't that the luck...but I can't just leave her here. I'm the hired gun, the muscle...and damnit, I can't leave a girl behind in a risky situation like this.
Seeing that Izzy was visibly shaken and uncomfortable, Keith nodded at her last statement, and tried to keep a positive tone in his voice. The reality of the situation truly hadn't set in on him yet, and he was trying to keep it at bay as long as he could. At least, the panic-side of it all.
"Ahh...I see." Grinning, he winked at her. "I understand how it all works, y'know. Well, I'm sure that Dodd knows how to look after himself...he did it once before, right? Shouldn't have anythin' to worry 'bout. Y'know...I can't say I was his biggest fan, but I talked to the guy once...his locker was next to mine at school, and like, he was asking me the name of some girl he was voting for in that whole Prom Queen thing. And y'know, I'm pretty sure that was right after you helped put on that party for the football team after we won that huge game in April..."
Keith smirked, and looked up at her, his gaze having wandered to the ground.
"Anyways, I'm pretty sure that he voted for you...at least, I'm pretty sure it was you he was looking at from across the hall. If that makes 'ya feel any better, or anythin'."
Keith sighed to himself, and moved the shotgun from one hand to the other.
"So...I mean, obviously neither of us are feelin' all kill-happy or anything, but I guess we should probably figure out some sorta plan. I mean, it's probably cool to stay here for a bit, but y'never know who might come traipsin' through the door wantin' to cozy up in our little shanty here. You got any ideas? Anythin' you wanna do while death-dodgin'?"

Wh-what is he saying? The question sparked in Madison's head. Her eyes were beginning to adapt to the darkness so she could start to make out exactly who she had been staring at for what seemed like the past half-hour. He was someone that Madison had seen somewhere before, but her anti-social nature had prevented her from remembering anything else about the man. All that she knew was that he had a shotgun and his body looked as though he could hold his own without it. Madison was afraid, and what's more there was actually someone talking to him. Who knows what kind of dangers that person would present if Madison were to make one false move.
Keith had walked right inside and closed the door right behind him, visually presenting Madison with a numerous set of choices. For one, she could simply knock on the door and hope that whoever else was taking refuge inside was civilized enough to let her in. This was a possibility, but if everyone that was inside of the building were scared on their wits, she would probably end up rotting on the ground like everyone else was bound to. Madison could turn tail and run off, thinking that all of the other choices would end up making her a dead body to add to the pile. That was also a good idea, but she really didn't want to leave such a nice safe haven.
She could instead barge in the door and kill whoever was inside. This idea was the one that Madison truly didn't want to resort to. On the positive side she would get a shotgun, a weapon that was bound to protect her from anything that came at her. The bad thing.... she'd have to live with the guilt of killing someone else. Not just someone else. Killing more than one individual. That didn't sit well with her, no matter how she looked at it. Even if the point of the game was to kill people, Madison certainly wasn't desperate enough to do it for absolutely no reason whatsoever...
...could she?
No, get that out of your head. You're not like that Madi. You're not like that. You're a normal girl who wouldn't want to kill a fly, much less a living breathing person. You know that. Why do you keep trying to convince yourself to be something you aren't?
No mental arguing was going to snap her out of this. She knew there had to be some sensible people on this island, but she was all alone for the time being. It was all her. She had to survive no matter what, but how could she ever live with herself? How could she kill someone in cold blood? Hell, how could she even think of doing that? No... she had to be peaceful. For now at least. If she had to get down and start killing, she would. But not now. That could wait. She had to rest first.
Taking a huge risk, Madison got up on her feet and slowly trudged her way over to the building. Her legs were on fire but she had to keep moving. Letting the axe drape down to her arm, her head hit the front door loudly. She let out a loud sigh that was mixed with aggression and pain. One would think that her intentions were questionable just by how she staggered up to the door.

Trey watched as the door to the lookout tower opened, and the boy outside stepped inside. Then the door shut. Trey continued to stay crouched, not moving and hardly breathing, staring intently at the tower, waiting for screaming or shooting or something, but he heard no sound. It was quiet, which meant either one of two things. Someone died pretty fast, or they both aren't going to play the game.
Wait, maybe they are going to play the game together?
It didn't matter, Trey knew that he had to take chances in this game. He couldn't just wander around the island with his nun chucks waiting for someone to jump out and give him a heart attack.
Or attack his heart.
Trey shook his head. He had to go forward. He had to go to the tower, and see who was in it. The worst that can happen is he dies a slow agonizing death. But what are the chances that that will actually happen? He had to trust these people. Besides, Trey was on the wrestling team, varsity team, and he's won his fair share of tough matches.
But this won't be a tough match. This won't be a match. Trey will go to the door, knock on it, and there will be people who aren't playing the game. People like him. Maybe they could escape? Maybe there was a way to beat the game? There had to be, there always was. Or was there?
It didn't matter, Trey had to go forward with this. This could be his one shot to meet people to get with. Safety in numbers right?
That's when Trey saw another girl, with an axe, start to trudge her way to the door. Is this a party now? Trey stayed silent, and watched as the girls head hit the door. Trey watched, was she playing?
He wasn't sure what to do now. Should he wait to see how this played out? Or she he move forward to the door to, with the girl. She had an axe that was visible, and chances were thats all she had. His nun chucks probably didn't stand up to the axe, but Trey was sure he could outrun her. So if he approached her and kept his distance....
Yes, he had to act now. He was tired of waiting. If this was the new meeting place for people who weren't going to be subjected to kill their classmates, he wanted in. He wanted apart of whatever plan might go down, whatever might happen. If there was a way to beat this, Trey wanted to be apart of it.
So with that, Trey stood up and slowly started to walk to the door, where the girl was. He called out to her her know of his presence. "Hey! I'm Trey Leyton! I'm not playing!"
He stopped some distance from the girl. He recognized her. He looked at her.
"Please."

((Bobby continued from Fragmentation))
Bobby Jacks felt sick. Not in an ill sense, but in his heart. Whilst one hand held the trigger and butt of his carbine firmly, the other was held underneath his eyeline, subject to close scrutiny. Although he had washed Tyson's blood from his hands in the brook earlier, it felt as if his hands were still awash with it. Bobby knew that blood, in a figurative sense, would not ever leave him, his deeds wouldn't be cleansed.
Bobby chuckled bitterly. I sound like somebody from a Shakespeare. He thought to himself. Wasn't it Lady Macbeth who couldn't wash the guilt , the 'blood' from her hands after the murder? Bobby smiled humourlessly. Believe me, I understand exactly what you were going through.
Bobby's head snapped up as he spotted, on his peripheral vision, a structure. The boxer stopped walking for a moment or two and silently observed the building, a lookout tower, which stood at the top of a hill. Bobby noticed, on closer examination, that there were two figures standing outside of the tower itself. Neither appeared to be armed, though Bobby had no way of making sure. His eyes narrowed. More than one person complicated things. The Carbine was bolt action, as Tyson Neills had found to his cost, that meant you only had one shot at a time. That made dealing with multiple opponents difficult.
Taking into account there may have been others inside the tower itself, and the relatively short range of his weapon, Bobby was going to have to take a gamble. Bobby grinned and moved off towards the hill at a trot, arriving at the bottom before long. Obviously it wasn't going to be too hard to figure out he had killed somebody - there weren't many places you could conceal a syringe, and his pack was rather bulkier than standard, hinting the extra rations. Of course, they had no way of knowing the killing was deliberate.
Bobby looked up at the two figures further up the hill, and trudged towards them, gun held low and unthereatening.

Izzy found herself far too wrapped up in her thoughts and worries to really catch Keith's look of surprise, it wouldn't be anything new anyway, she couldn't count the number of times that other friends and some she didn't even know would come up to her and ask silly things like, "You're actually friends with a guy like that?" It was only the sheer discipline that she had slowly built over the years, and the fact it probably wouldn't look good if she beat the hell out of anybody and got suspended right before graduation, that kept her flashes of anger in at those times, though hell with how things where looking perhaps she should have just went ahead and did it anyway. Though none of it was still helping her worry, gazing toward Keith and looking oddly toward the boy as he winked just wondering what all of that was about, this guy... was actually kind of weird, it was almost terribly funny to watch someone that was apart of the popular social circle seem unable to actually speak, or at least speak normally, reminded her more of those computer kids.
His words really didn't help ease her though, because it was Adam's experience and current standing as the V1 winner that had her worrying so much, because what would happen if one of those player like that wanna-be rock star bitch came along and thought, 'Well hey, how fucking cool would it be to have an actual winner of this on my kill list?' Sighing a bit and rubbing a finger against one of her lip rings, deciding quickly as soon as she found that red-haired punk she would personally kick his ass for causing her to worry so damn much. Keith's continued words caused her to look up, remembering that silly party she had helped with though she wasn't sure just why as she couldn't stand have the people that attended the thing... though as Keith continued on about his apparent one-time talk with Adam concerning his Prom Queen vote she found herself a bit shocked as he told her.
Blinking for a moment before suddenly smiling and shaking her head, "He's such an idiot..." She found herself mumbling, laughing lightly and allowing herself to smile. But it didn't last to terribly long because Keith was speaking again, though this time concerning plans of sorts, glancing about the tower that they had found themselves in and sighing. "I—I really don't have much of a plan, I've only been awake for a couple of hours and some of it was spent running away from that jackass Paul... I figured I should at least find someone that I could use to my advantage while thinking of a plan. Looks like a managed that..." Izzy said, sighing again and looking thoughtful, "I really do wanna try and find my friends though, at least Andy and Adam... I just know—"
Speech stopped though at the thud on the door, Izzy almost finding herself jumping out of shock and only her bloody pride kept her from doing so, staring lightly at the door before sending a small look told Keith. Reaching over and taking a hold of her weapon from the table once more and approached the door with some caution, wondering just who was here now... no voice though and she found herself moving toward the window first and trying to see the best she could through the dirty glass. Finding the only thing she could really make out was the sight of an axe... where had she just seen one... shit! Moving away from the window she made her way toward the door and pulled it open gazing over the girl with a bit of a worried frown, "Shit Madison, I didn't think I'd see you again any time soon." She muttered toward the girl, barely finishing before yet another voice called out.
Fucking hell, its turning into a damn party in here...
Though the sight of the person, as well as the name called out, caused Izzy too smile lightly. She had spent a brief time helping out with some of the things concerning the wrestling team and had spoken to Trey a few times in her short month helping out, she just knew he couldn't be one of these evil players after all he was the one that had been all nice to her in the tenth grade after her kitten had died, "Hey there you." Izzy mused, smiling brightly before casting another worried look to Madison and sighing. "Well, there's safety in numbers... I suppose, anyway we should get back in, you look like you're about to faint." She said lightly speaking to the other girl. And that was true, there was safety in numbers... the more non-players the better because it increased their chance of making it out okay if one of those lone-wolf players decided to come along.

Trey really didn't have time to be afraid, or to rethink has actions, as it all happened fast. The door to the lookout tower opened, and there stood a girl. Trey had slowly walked forward enough so he could make her out. It was Izzy. The fear seemed to quickly subside in Trey, he knew her, he could trust her. She was a nice girl, and he's talked to her enough to think think that she couldn't be one of the people playing this game.
Who was the other girl?
Trey couldn't tell by her back, but Izzy seemed to know the girl, and be friends with her. That was enough for Trey. Trey quickly sprinted to the two girls at the door, moving to the right side of Madison and looking at her. He recognized her. It was Madison Conner. He hadn't really ever talked to her, but he hadn't really heard bad things about her.
Trey just looked at the two girls, letting his right hand fall to his side which were carrying the nun chucks. He gave the best smile he could muster considering the circumstances and said, "Hey."
Completely unaware of Bobby Jacks Trey looked at the two girls.
This could turn out all right after all.

Keith didn't have time to object before Izzy opened the door to the new arrivals - obviously being relatively familiar with them. 'Madison', the girl, and 'Trey', the guy (though he was familiar with Trey, who he'd run in the same circles with upon occasion at school) stood exchanging greetings outside the door, leaving Keith and their biggest tool for defending themselves standing inside the tower, doing nothing.
C'mon, Jackson! Get your head screwed on straight and start doin' something, instead of just standin' around like a moron!
Stepping forward, shotgun in hand, he finally broke his silence, and figured that to stand outside the door, crowded together wasn't the most optimal position for surviving.
"Hey, ladies and Trey, as much as I'm happy to see some friendly faces 'n all, I might suggest movin' inside, because we don't know what kinda' crazy bastards are runnin' around. I might be soundin' like a broken record here, but the safest thing to do right now is to leave ourselves as unexposed as possible..."
Keith grinned at the newcomers, hoping that neither of them would be hiding any kind of violent tendancies.
"...so why don'tch'ya come on in and we can get settled, yeah?"
Shooting a glance over at Izzy, Keith raised his eyebrows in a kind of amusement at the hopeful look that'd fallen over her face. He just hoped that it wouldn't prove to be much of a mistake. Shotgun at the ready, Keith moved back towards the back wall, waiting for the rest of the people to come in and join him.

It was that other girl from before that had opened the door. Madison would have smiled (or at least forced one across her face) from the sight of a familiar face. She didn't though. She really didn't feel like smiling. She also didn't feel like bawling her eyes out either, but from what the black lines trailing down her face indicated, she still did alot of that. If it were any indication, the man with the shotgun (who was beginning to look more and more familiar by the minute) didn't seem to have no intentions of killing anyone. Which was good because the last thing that Madison wanted was to have to use her axe so early in the game. If there was one one thing she wanted less, it was a reason to use it.
She had noticed another boy that was standing right next to her, but his words were said in a low voice and Madison couldn't make them out. All of the sudden, she really didn't want to say anything that she had no purpose in saying. Now was not the time for formalities, at least until they got inside of the building at least.
That was when Madison remembered something: her daypack. She had left it near the tree that she was hiding behind not only a few minutes ago. She hesitated to walk through the door, knowing that everything that she owned was in that bag. Everything that she had left: her diary, a few miscellaneous books, and all the other stuff she had been given along with her axe. Her hands gripped the handle of the axe again, her eyes shifting from Izzy to the spot right behind her. I... guess there might not be much of a problem running off to go get my bag, but... I don't know. Should I do it without hesitation? What if someone is lurching out there? She turned right back, shaking her head slightly.
"H-Hey... I'll be right back. I... dropped my bag somewhere back there... Could you cover me until I get back?" This was the moment where Madison felt like a forced smile would fit the situation. No one could blame her for being suspicious. After all, she had just escaped from a gun-wielding trickster only a hour or two away.. "I... I just don't feel safe walking away..."
Without waiting for an answer, Madison staggered away, nearly falling with her axe in tow. She knew where the bag was, but it was all just a matter of getting there and run right back. She reached the tree that she had been hiding behind, picking up the bag and draping it behind her back.
