The temple is a rather ornately constructed building featuring a large mural depicting a rising sun over and across the entrance doors. However, once you step inside, the luster vanishes. The time it has been left abandoned is beginning to take its toll as the building is very musty. Rows of mildewy cushions are arranged in a semi-circle, all facing a large painting of an angel on the back wall that has worn away to such a degree the face is no longer visible. Large rectangular panels of silk fabric also hang from the walls and across the ceiling, although these too show signs of mold growth.

Katelynne opened her mouth for a rebuttal, cut off by Lucas as he jumped at Kyle and followed by Tyrell.

She just sighed through clenched teeth and watched as they carried him off like timber.

She wondered if Liberty felt the same getting dragged around like that.

...Dr. Pot, paging for Dr. Kettle.

((Katelynne Kirkpatrick continued elsewhere temporally))

Ty tried his best to hide his disappointment in Diaz for not picking up what he was putting down by asking Katelynne’s permission to move Kyle, but there was nothing more to be done. Rather than wait for Princess to fuck it up, Ty moved ahead and grabbed Kyle’s arms.

Of all of them, he strongly suspected he had the most contact with the recently deceased. As soon as he was able to depersonalize them, to remember that Kyle was no longer the owner or inhabitant of the form lying between them all - that’s all it was. A carcass that needed to be away from them, the living. Something people figured out a long, long time ago. Like moving water towards their settlements and waste away from them, or keeping people like Tyrell in barracks or cages.

They had to move him. It was only a big deal if they made it so. Diaz seemed to be taking the sensible route, if insensitive. Worth a shot, but Ty made a mental note to check up on Katelynne later. He’d have to try not to be overly concerned and soft about it; he killed two people, no one was going to confide in him for comfort. Instead, he’d have to strike a cold, objective kind of approach. That made some people more comfortable than a warm person. Like they didn’t have to worry about their own feelings talking to someone who didn’t really feel.

Thoughts like that often made him wonder if that’s what he was really doing or not. Feeling. He certainly didn’t have much towards the body in his hands, not when he didn’t have time to.

Fortunately, most of Kyle’s broken skull held together enough not to be scattered across the temple floor as the two of them carried him from the building. There was a pushbroom in there somewhere they could use to move the rest away.

As they slowly made their way to the cliff’s edge, Ty realized Katelynne may have been watching. He called out, quietly enough only Diaz could hear.

“Hey wait. Maybe just leave him here for now? It’s far enough. Seems like just chuckin’ the dude might upset Katelynne.”

His new compatriot nodded, and they unceremoniously dropped the corpse in some bushes by the cliff edge. Ty immediately made back for the Temple, eyes on the treeline. They’d have to do some work to secure the place, but if it didn’t turn into a danger-zone any time soon, it was as good as anywhere to hold up. Until Diaz decided where they ought to go to find his revenge. Ty supposed he’d have to think on that, too. For now,

“Come on. I’ve got some ideas for buttoning up the place.”

((Tyrell Lahti continued later that night))

Not only was Lucas a fucking snake, he was also a goddamn wimp! Who knew!

Tyrell's suggestion that they dump the body outside was a godsend. Lucas tried to set the body down easy and not inhale too much of the dried excrement inside Kyle's pants—or whatever corpse smell that was—before following Ty inside. The bushes weren't glamorous, but if Katelynne stumbled outside to take a leak in the middle of the night, she might just not see it! Or she'd not see it and then piss all over him! Great! That was a great mental picture, Lucas. Absolutely fucking phenomenal!

"Cool," Lucas said, as he slipped back into the temple,

"Come morning, we'll deck out the Clout Cave."

[Lucas Diaz continued in i've got one foot in the darkness and the other one in a hello kitty roller skate, but hopefully not, as he currently wants above all else to be smothered in his sleep.]
