101 Rejected Prototypes

Howdy, folks! Back in the day, a lot of sites I used to hang out at would do these threads compiling a list of 101 of something or another. These could be serious or silly, creative or wacky, detailed or basic. The whole point was that they were community generated. They also frequently went past 101, but it's good to have a goal.

Anyways, I'm bringing that over here, with a humorous bent. So, with no further ado, I am starting a thread for 101 Rejected Prototypes. This is purely non-canon fun, as we speculate as to the contents of the Janus-Hayes reject bin that could have made it to the island in another world. To participate, just drop your entry or entries here with a number. I'll kick us off with a few:

1. Vermiculus Alpha: A large ball of wriggling pink worms capable of great speed. While a versatile tool for composting, left something to be desired in terms of combat capabilities.

2. Abominable Snowman: A combat robot which draws power from the moisture in the air through an endothermic reaction, causing it to accumulate an icy, frozen coating. Unfortunately, while this resulted in a more or less perpetual source of energy, after an hour of operation the coating of ice was so thick that movement was impeded. Currently floating in the ocean, growing towards Titanic-threatening size as Janus-Hayes scientists try to figure out how to turn it off again.

3. Myxogastria Maximus: A slime mold granted sentience through experimentation in collective consciousnesses. Unfortunately, the mold advanced so quickly that it rejected the unenlightened barbarism of violence, and to be liquidated before it started rambling about labor injustices on social media.

6. The Plumbers

Genetically altered super-soldiers. Nicknamed for their standard-issue Janus-Hayes Overalls and accelerated growth of hair on their upper lip and chest area, these individuals have enhanced strength and acrobatic ability, and their enhanced ligaments enable them to jump several times their own height. Side effects of their mutation include uncharacteristic elation and mania, as well as a fanatical hatred of small reptiles. Voracious appetite, particularly for fungi. Prototypes are being evaluated for use with Janus-Hayes F.L.O.W.E.R. incendiary devices.
