hi everyone! this will be the thread where the INTL version of this happens

short explanation: I'll be posting the INTL version of SOTF Main's Hammers/TV's Toasters/etc here piece by piece over the next however long, so the folks who have been reading and participating in SOTF: International can fill out INTL's version of said accolades over the next month or so, rather than trying to fill out all the questions at once.

these will be slightly more infrequent than the TV3 version, with likely a few more off-days, due to the comparatively extended length of time from now until INTL endgame.

Favorite Character: There's been a ton of cool characters in International, but I'll give a special nod for this to Deirbhile Callahan, whose time in the game was comparatively short-lived but whose scenes, dialogue, thoughts, everything, always resonated and stuck with me in an extremely special way.

Favorite Weapon: In terms of weapons that didn't end up being guns that also saw unique use, which is usually what I look for in this section specifically, I'll go with the smoke bombs. Honourable mention to the poison ivy, though.

Favorite Weapon: the Zorb ball for being silly and funny but also practical

Favorite Character: There were a lot of really great options here! Deirbhile and Tarren were both very high picks for me, but I'd say my favorite overall was Abel Atkins. I loved his narrative style.

Favorite Weapon: Abel Atkins should have chugged the lava lamp.

Current Status of Trademark Character: A strand of digital data, floating within the web. Forever frozen within its last moments. He never would've gone on to do great things, anyways, he's sure.

Favorite Character: Soraya. The fact that I speak just enough spanish to know the bare bones of 25% of her words but not enough to avoid using google translate kind of adds to the surreal nature that might or might not be intended.

Favorite Weapon: Gun. Not gonna say which one. Just gun.

Current Status of Trademark Character: Spying on people through a scope from the great beyond.

Favorite Character: Everyone's great, and I've enjoyed basically everything I've read, but I have a particular fondness for seeing new handlers explore the SOTF concept and Philia Constantinou has done that in a lot of cool ways, always bringing something interesting and a fresh perspective to scenes even as she finds herself doing what she never expected or wanted to.

Favorite Weapon: The industrial sized drum of Branston Pickle makes me laugh as much as it did when I suggested it, but I also have to give a big shout out to Harun's practical application of the big book of information, which is an amazing beat for a joke weapon.

Favorite Scene: International has been a collection of great scenes, but the original skirmish in the village, which would eventually paint the version and every village scene to follow, stands out to me as pretty impactful.

Favorite Death: Jia Li's terrifying fall from the cliffs.

Favorite Scene: Dirge for Shepherds. I love interesting ways of doing narrative, and the name explanations are a perfect example of this. Every person explains their name and the meaning behind it, and the pattern is only broken by Tarren's explicit dismissal of the explanation. It's a really cool way to start the scene, and places it among my favorites of all time.

Favorite Death: This one is a three-way tie between Makaria Wang's ., Deirbhile Callahan's Slán Abhaile and Tarren Joseph's A Boring Dystopia. As I've made well-known, I'm a sucker for out-of-the-box styles of writing, and these three threads hit everything I love in that type of posting. From Makaria's scattered thoughts as he faces death, to Deirbhile's imaginary letter-that-never-was, to Tarren and Caleb flashing back and forward in time, I love the experimental nature of each thread. They're all wonderful, and they've more than earned their place.

Favorite Scene: Artie, Austin, Matthew, Katherine, and Harun try to talk. Specifically, what I love here is the tense vibe and general level of shiftiness in play coupled with the fact that nothing particularly bad actually happens here. It's a great mix of dramatic and comedic beats, with special shoutout going to Harun for both starting to think of himself as "Nutboy" and then making off with the crutch in one of the slickest adoption hand-offs I've seen.

Favorite Death: Probably going to be echoing a lot of folks here, but Makaria's conclusion is tragic, well-rendered, and fascinating. Yona does a wonderful job pulling at the senseless tragedy that is death in an SOTF situation, the loss of potential and the loss of space and time to figure things out, and that makes the first death of the version one that will stick for a long time.
