Julia Edwards

#1

Post by Ohm »

Name: Julia Edwards
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Hobbies and interests: Fighting games, manga, anime, parkour

Appearance: Julia stands at 5’2 and weighs 125 lbs. Julia is Caucasian. She has auburn red hair that reaches down to her shoulders. She has freckles dotting her round face, across her button nose. Her eyes are blue, situated beneath a pair of straight eyebrows.

Julia doesn’t put a lot of effort in her outfit choices with the most vexing of them being what anime or manga shirt she’d wear. Other than that, Julia wears mostly jeans with skirts pending on the weather and how she felt that day.

Julia’s Avatar is reminiscent of a cat humanoid with exaggerated features, clip on cat ears atop her green hair, contact lenses on her eyes that make them look bigger and stick out slightly from her face with no nose and a small mouth. Her limbs are very thin with her arms hidden by the sweater she wears and a skirt underneath, thinner than she is outside of Cyberspace. A clip on tail sticks out from the back of her skirt. Otherwise, she looks like her real self.

On abduction day, Julia was dressed in black t-shirt with a flannel shirt over it, a pair of blue jeans and a pair of blue crocs.

Biography: Julia was born to Thomas and Harriet Edwards on March 15, in San Jose, California. Thomas is a lawyer and Harriet was a stay at home wife. They met at a dinner hosted by the firm that Thomas works for, Harriet being there with her family as her father works for the same firm.

Julia had a relatively normal childhood, her mother being the primary parent throughout her life with her father trying to be involved when not busy with work. She mainly confined herself indoors whenever possible to watch her favorite cartoons on TV or reading fantasy books that her father had. She had few friends due to her insular nature and therefore spent a lot of time with those that had similar hobbies or reached out to her.

Julia was introduced to Cyberspace during elementary school. She enjoyed the freedom it provided, and uses Cyberspace a lot in her spare time. Julia struggled engaging with others from a young age and mostly clung to a group of friends that she had found early on in her venture into Cyberspace, she found it easier to engage with others through the use of Cyberspace. Her use of Cyberspace over the years has made her more confident and willing to make a fool of herself, mostly to make her friends laugh and for her own amusement.

Julia grew an interest for fighting games through watching tournaments on the internet, many of which for games such as Street Fighter and Tekken, but there was one in particular that caught her eye which was Melty Blood. The ease of getting Melty Blood to work on her computer, combined with the advent of memes involving its fanbase, made it one that stuck out in her mind combined with the fast paced gameplay. She’s not particularly good at the games, but they fascinate her and she enjoys her time with them.

It was through Melty Blood that her interest for anime started, watching anime based on other properties owned by Type Moon such as Fate/Stay Night and went on from there, seeing works such as Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen and Bungou Stray Dogs.

Julia’s interest for parkour grew from watching youtube videos of people around the world performing parkour in public spaces, and run down locations. Although Julia herself has never performed parkour in real life, she has in Cyberspace.

Julia performs well at school, with good marks in most of her classes outside of gym. Her parents have discussed with her what she wants with her future, and Julia for the most part has been unsure, with Thomas pushing for her to follow in his footsteps and become a lawyer, which has been an enticing thought for her.

Personality: Julia is reserved and quiet in real life, noticeably more outspoken in the presence of her close friends, but in Cyberspace she is more inclined to speak her mind, regardless of the consequences. Whether it’s to make references or engage in slapstick humor that others might not find funny or lacking. Julia doesn’t have a lot of confidence in her real self and finds more of it in Cyberspace.

Reputation: Julia keeps to herself for the most part outside the web, mostly engaging with her friends in real life, she is more daring and outgoing in Cyberspace, with the caveat of annoying people with her focus on slapstick humor, resulting in people not wanting to engage with her in the real world.

Hello there! There shall be critique.
[+] .
parkour!
The exclamation point isn't needed!
125 Lbs
Wouldn't capitalize lbs here.

Caucasian is capitalized.

As a note, her cat like features have to be realistic within the context of her school Avatar (obviously no restrictions on this in wider Cyberspace). Like her cat ears would have to be clip ons, she'd have to use contacts, clip on tail, so on. And to be clear, you're saying that her Avatar is thinner than she herself is in real life? Also also, Avatar is capitalized.

What was Julia's childhood like, what were her initial interests prior to starting school? You indicate she had difficulty with others outside of Cyberspace, but could we get some details on that? It's an important detail in my opinion to understand her reserved/shy nature and how it evolved over time.

Cyberspace is capitalized. Occurs a bunch of times so make sure all of those are gotten.

I assume her friends are all Cyberspace friends then from a young age? I'd like that specified.

How does she perform now in school, what is her current social situation like? What are her plans for the future? Don't need to go too much into detail with any of these, just need them a little fleshed out. Also, how good is she at her hobbies? Excellent gamer, or just average?
but more inclined to speak her mind, regardless of the consequences in cyberspace
This sentence is a bit confusing, I'd move 'in cyberspace' to right after the but in the sentence.

What sort of person is she, more in depth, when she's in the comfort of Cyberspace? You say she becomes looser and more willing to be embarassed, but is she more of a leader or follower? What sort of dynamic does she exist in with her other friends, generally speaking?

The Reputation section describes how others would view her, as it currently stands it more describes how she views/interacts with others. We'd just need like, an idea of how well known she is (I presume not at all) at school and among her teachers.
That's it.

Couple more things.
[+] .
Right now the way her Avatar is described it sounds like she wears one specific sweater most of the time, of the sort that would cover her limbs as described. The wording just needs to be cleaned up a bit, and besides this you'd also need to explicitly say if there are no other differences in outfits between her Avatar and her real self.
favorite cartoons on tv
TV is capitalized.

Could you go into a bit of detail with her humor, if its such a big part of her more confident personality? Does she use mostly memes and references, is she sarcastic and witty, more slapstick or crude humor? Those sorts of specifics. You do imply she's kind of annoying in her Reputation section, so that should also be clarified a bit since I assume it relates to her sense of humor.

People not knowing her well strikes me as a bit incongruent with the idea that she's more bold and confident with her humor to the point of being annoying- people would remember her, if she is as she sounds like, being a class clown. It's a bit inconsistent as is so I just need that clarified.
