The sun beat down on him as he continued to slide in and out of consciousness, as the sharp pain of the wound had caused him to awaken several times. Eventually, he stopped feeling as warm as the day slowly darkened. By the time Cory awoke again, it was almost night.

The announcements soon began blaring, and Cory attempted to pull the pen and paper from his pocket. It was painful, but eventually, he was able to remove the items. A drop of blood touched the notebook. He clicked the pen open and began listing the names that the announcer said.

Fisk Bateman - Jasper Suárez-King - Purposeful.

Gabriela Garcia-Campos - Carol Hong - Unknown.

Seo-yun Lee - Kamille Martel - Purposeful.

RJ Blackburn - Leonard Kenter - Accident?

Some of the names listed were the same ones from the two announcements prior. Cory still felt he didn't quite understand why they acted the way they did.

Thirty seconds later, Cory heard the sound of his collar. The message stated that his mentor was currently unavailable. That must have been why Emmy didn't answer earlier. He would try and talk to the replacement mentor later if he could.

He put the pen and paper back into his pocket before drifting back out of consciousness.
