Bethany Marshall

Throughout V4, several characters were withdrawn or else failed to be confirmed for the roll-call. This board includes withdrawn characters who were at one point approved, as well as all characters who were assigned a number and weapon but did not actually enter the game (some of these double-up from the Pregame roster). By and large, unless these characters had appearances in Pregame, they should be considered non-canon.

Bethany Marshall

Post by Elma† »

Name: Bethany Marshall
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Grade: Senior [12th]
School: Bayview Secondary School
Hobbies and Interests: Art, Child care

Appearance: Bethany is a somewhat short girl, standing at 5'4 and weighing in at 105 pounds. She once had a muscular build, but that has atrophied and become sickly and somewhat lanky. Bethany's face, once beautiful, now looks tired. Her eyes are a bright green, but due to stress they appear less lively then they once had. Her once full lips, perhaps her most defining feature, are now cut from biting them. Bags have formed under her eyes and her face has begun to sag slightly. Her hair is a dull brown due to her Italian heritage.

Her choice of attire is usually a plain t-shirt and sweater, with ugly pink sweat pants. Her clothes contrast with her usual attire of preppy clothes. As of now, she pays little attention to what she wears, usually siding with whatever she can put on quickly than with style. Her clothes are often stained with baby vomit or spittle.

Biography: Bethany was born the middle child of a pastor, Matthew, and his wife, Marla. As such, Bethany was always under comparison to her successful older sister Rhonda. Her sister, cheer captain, Christian Alliance club captain and all around A student. Bethany was always compared to her older sister. Her younger brother, a pastor-in-training also proves to be competition for her parent's affection, particularly her father's.

Bethany followed in her sister's footsteps, joining all the clubs her sister had left her legacy in, becoming popular and pretty, just to make her parents proud. This life, while unfulfilling, left Bethany with some sense of value. She wasn't a good cheerleader, but was athletic and popular enough to stay on the team. This all ended at a party Sophomore year.

Bethany had never so much as contemplated drinking at all, but at this party peer pressure hit. She had had quite an amount, leading to her losing her virginity to a stranger. The subsequent pregnancy led to Bethany being ostracized by her former friends and by her family, who all looked down on Bethany. Despite the pain that this baby caused her, she loved the child and bore him within days of the School Prom.

Anthony James Marshall was born on June 7th 2007. The baby became Bethany's world. She fell out of social groups, instead devoting her attention to her son. Anthony, is named after the Patron Saint of the Lost, the only tie she still holds to Christianity, which she feels abandoned her. After his birth, Bethany moved out of her disappointed parent's care and moved into a cheap housing complex in St. Paul Minnesota. She took various after school jobs to support her child. She started going to school again, leaving her child with the state-run daycare centers.

At school, Bethany's presence is relatively unknown. With her taking no outside school courses, she became invisible amongst the student body. She has no problems with blending in, taking the minimal course load, so she can come home earlier to her son. Her best subject is art, which her teacher desperately tries to encourage her to take an interest in.

Bethany is often seen drawing in class, as opposed to taking the actual class notes. Her favorite topic is children, which she can draw with amazing realism. But like the rest of school, she does not try to follow her passion for art. As far as possible colleges is concerned, Bethany has aimed low, much to her art teacher's disappointment. Any local college is good enough for her.

Advantages: Bethany, a former cheerleader, has some athletic prowess. Not enough to join any teams, but enough to outrun some competition.
Bethany is also quite driven to protect and care for her child. She would see the game as keeping her from her child and would fight to be with him.
Disadvantages: Bethany has no particular drive for anything outside of supporting her baby. This leaves all other aspects of her life, including her social and school life, to be neglected.
Bethany is also rather sickly due to over work. She is prone to catching illness rather easily and does little to make sure she cares for herself.
