Grave Encounter

Phase 1 (0-12 Hours), Private

The graveyard sits on a hill behind the church, overlooking the whole town. Many generations of continuous family lines can be found within the fence that encircles the land designated for this use. Most of the oldest gravestones have started to be reclaimed by the wild growth of the surrounding foliage, although a large ornate stone crypt featuring intricate carvings of various fish has been treated with the utmost care by the former groundskeeper. Behind the crypt is an area of land unused except for the presence of a large white gazebo. This area offers a view out over the surrounding environment and is relatively free of hazards.

Damien Crossly - Start

A graveyard....

Of course, he would wake up in a graveyard. It was like the people who put him here knew that he would have no chance to survive this. He knew that he was in a screwed up position that he wouldn't be able to escape. He was definitely going to die.

Unless....

Damien stared at the gravestone that was in front of him and he crouched down to get a closer look at it. The person's name on the grave was pretty much too faded for him to write it. He didn't move as he continued to think about what he would do.

Unless I decide to trust no one and make to the end somehow. And then I can take out the last person alive.... Then I would be the winner.

"....I don't know, I don't know. Why is this happening to us?" Damien mumbled to himself and he let out a perplexed sigh. "Why me...?

Bianca Cantrell (NPC) - Start

Bianca's eyes fluttered open. Where was she again? She stood up shakily, brushing dirt off her jacket and gazed at the scenery surrounding her. Her first impressions were that of morbidity - Graves were cluttered in groups and the area looked like it hadn't been tended to for months. Bianca sighed, her memories of her selection seeping swiftly back to her.

Bianca looked down at her backpack, and reached to open it. She grimaced. Whatever was in that backpack would be intended for murder. She unzipped the bag, raising one quivering arm to grab the tool inside. She felt a curved blade, which meant that at least she could defend herself. It wasn't a gun, by any means, but at least it was something to protect herself with.

Observing it further, she deduced it was probably some foreign weapon. Asian, maybe. It reminded her of the sickles she'd learned about in an Agriculture class her parents had forced her to do. It was pretty sharp, and a clean swing would probably take someone's head off.

The first thing she knew she had to do was get cover - She hadn't spotted anyone else yet but regardless, someone would eventually arrive at the region and she would be ready. She hurriedly sprinted over to a nearby tree, and ducked behind it.

Damien decided that he didn't want to stay in the graveyard anymore. It was a bit creepy being there on his own. He never really liked places that were related to death. He needed to find a better place to hide out.

Damien leaned back up straight and he started to move foward, glancing around the area more warily. He wondered if he was really alone there.

He shook his head in disbelief as he continued to take a few steps pass some gravestones. He really shouldn't be getting paranoid so quickly. No one was going to kill him right away.

As Bianca crouched behind the tree, she ensured that she wouldn't let her mind wonder. She knew what happened in the programme. If you were distracted, you were as good as dead. On that note, she scanned her surroundings once more. Nothing. She allowed herself to breathe a little, panicking wouldn't solve any of her problems.

Crunch.

Bianca's eyes widened as she heard that awful noise. That horrific sound could only lead to one conclusion - She wasn't alone here. She gulped in temporary fear, before timidly peeking out from behind the tree. Upon looking, she noticed a boy from her year - What was his name again? Daniel? Darren? Damien? She didn't know, but she recognized him as being pretty popular.

Bianca Cantrell had never really got along with the popular crowd - She was fairly wealthy, so that should've ensured herself immunity from their antics, but she wasn't a particularly social person and hadn't been with them from the start. Bianca inspected the boy further - He didn't appear to be armed, but Bianca was aware from her crime novels that you could never tell what would happen unless all the cards were on the table. Safe to say, approximately one card was on the table and Bianca was utterly terrified.

The guy hadn't seen her, though, so that was one positive in the situation. Should she expose herself? She didn't know him, maybe he would attack her. In which case, she had to make the first move. And even if he wasn't armed, or if he was friendly, better to be safe than sorry, right?

She didn't want to make herself a murderer, though. She wasn't even a patriot, she didn't care about America. She noted not to say that aloud, however, she had retained some common sense since her selection. Yet, better other people die than the great Bianca Cantrell. That she was certain of. Repeating this internally to herself, Bianca made her decision.

Aiming straight at the boy, Bianca Cantrell raised her Kama and charged.

Damien noticed something out of the corner of his eye, not something - someone - a girl coming out from behind a tree and she had a weapon in her weapon. It definitely was better than his 'weapon'.

"Hey-"

His eyes widened in surprise as the girl - Bianca? - started to come at him with the sickle-like weapon and he felt himself freezing up on the spot. Was this really how his life was going to end? At the hands of Bianca? Didn't he want to live? Didn't he want to survive?

Yes.

He reacted by raising his hands in defence of his face and body. He then started to dodge to the side. Hoping that she would miss making contact with his hands. He had to fight back but he had to defend himself from her first.

Bianca swung with ferocity, but ultimately it hit empty air. She spun spontaneously, her view lingering on the boy for a brief moment - Goddamnit, why'd he have to dodge? This would make things a lot more difficulf for her, and for a second she debated in her mind whether she should continue with her plan.

She resolved the issue immediately - She had commited herself to this attack, if she stopped now there was no way this guy would trust him. The only good thing about the situation so far is that he hadn't brandished a weapon yet, which likely meant that he didn't own one. He probably discarded it, Bianca thought, in which case he deserved this fate.

Bianca sliced again in fury, but the boy was nimbler than she had expected. Every time he dodged, she followed, but she didn't exactly have an amazing physique. She felt tears swell in her eyes as she glared at him with fiery eyes.

"Why won't you just let me kill you already?!" Bianca released a yell, aggravated by her continuous missing of the victim. She was an eagle, a predator, and he would die soon. She was sure of it.

Bianca raised her Kama, filled with determination to end this grievance.

An opening. Finally he was at an angle where he could either lunge himself at her, knock away the arm with the weapon or he could just run away. He didn't want to run away. She would try to come after him and finish the job. He couldn't let that happen. If he was going to die, then he would make sure to take her down with him.

"You...." That was all that he could muster saying and he didn't know if he wanted to say anything to her. "You are out of your mind, Bianca!"

He then let out an angry noise from his throat and he moved quickly towards her to knock her off her feet. He had to win this fight no matter what.

Bianca tripped backwards in shock as he pushed into her, falling flat onto the cold, tough ground. She felt aching in her legs from the injury but there wasn't any time for her to stall. She scrambled to try to get to her feet, but to no avail as she tried to avoid his fists.

She spat at him, but it proved an idiotic decision as it just fell back at her. She swung her Kama wildly in panic, not coming into contact with him once. She glared at him again, rolling across the hard cobble to avoid him. She attempted to stand up, shakily, but she was anxious and fell over. She was surprised the boy remembered his name, but he would have to die regardless. The trick was to lure him closer before striking.

She called out to him again, "You're the one who's out of their mind! This is the Programme, remember? You can't win unless you are fully dedicated to victory, and that means bloodshed!"

Bianca clutched her Kama tight, preparing for what she hoped to be the lethal blow...

When Damien collided with Bianca and flatted her to the ground, he had stumbled to the ground as well and he had tried to hit her with some punches. His fists were too clumsy and awkward to touch her and he was still feeling mad at her for attacking him.

Play the game. I have to play their game...

Damien moved himself away from her as she had her weapon close to her and he didn't want to resist getting sliced and diced by it. Now she wanted him to play into The Program's hands. No doubt his parents would be ordering him to man up and do his duty for them, for America....

"You want me to really fight back and kill you.... Is that what you really want me to do?!" He snapped at her with an angered expression on his face. "Fine, let's see who will survive this."

He paused for a few seconds.

"If I die, I'm making sure that you die with me, Bianca."

Bianca grinned, this was everything she'd hoped for. He was rattled and riled up, and thus more likely to make mistakes. She also believed that he wouldn't be killer, so that furthered raised her survival chances. She quickly hid her smirk, though, as she didn't want to reveal her plans.

"Isn't it obvious? The great Bianca Cantrell will do her family proud." The lies spewed from Bianca's mouth cleanly, masking her fear with false patriotism.

However, the rest of her plans weren't going that smoothly. He wasn't as dumb as she'd thought, and hadn't moved further toward her range. She gazed up at him once more, and made her decision to stand up.

Standing was an underwhelming term for it. Bianca leaped up, attempting to startle the boy with the unexpected action. Her first idea was to advance, and she swung at him with as much force as she could muster.

((GModding approved))

Damien was a bit taken aback by Bianca's sudden moves and she was approaching him at a fast speed. She was swinging the sickle-like weapon towards him and he barely had any time to react. All he felt was a sudden pain stringing his arm.

Damien stared down at his arm and noticed that he had been cut and he was bleeding. She had actually hurt him. This was just too real. He didn't want to die, he didn't want to die like this!

Bianca was suddenly taken off-guard as Damien grabbed onto her leg and he yanked onto it harder to make her fall and be vulernable to him. He had to hope that she would drop her weapon as well. He needed her to be defenceless.

"Bitch..." He growled under his breath bitterly.

Bianca was surprised. After such a promising start, tearing into the flesh of his arm, she'd been knocked over. She actually felt pain in her back. This guy actually seemed like he might have the nerve to kill her. For Bianca Cantrell, she knew this was as catastrophic result.

Her weapon has fallen from her arm as she fell, releasing it in shock. Bianca was defenseless. She considered her options rapidly in her head, and decided the safest bet was to alert anyone else passing by - Maybe she could claim that he had attacked her!

Yes, that was what she would do. She released a scream with all the effort she could and tried in vain to reach for her Kama. She gulped, knowing that if aid didn't arrive soon, she was most certainly dead.

Damien was not happy when Bianca let out a scream. He knew that she was trying to alert someone to what was happening between them. He couldn't let that happen. He had to make her shut her mouth. He couldn't let someone else try to kill him.

Damien managed to crawl over to Bianca and he got himself on top of her, putting his weight onto her body. He then tried to grab onto her arms to hold her down. He couldn't let her escape.

"S-Shut up, shut up, shut up!"

Bianca was not a tough girl. As such, when the boy crawled over her, it was a source of significant pain. She continued to struggle, although she was a lot weaker than the boy and thus her arms remained restricted. She kicked her legs in a flurry though, relentlessly trying to escape. Her scream was muffled, but still audible, so why has no one come to rescue her yet?

Her, the great Bianca Cantrell?

She couldn't let herself die - Especially to someone who's name she didn't even know. She considered pleading with him, trying to get him to show some mercy. Maybe he would be kind.. Then when he turned his back, she could enact revenge. That might be nice.

Bianca stopped screaming, and looked up at him, attempting as best as she could to look regretful.

"I-I'm sorry! I panicked, I didn't know what to do! If you kill me now, you'll be marked as a murderer for the world to see! Don't play the game, I beg you."

She tried her best to convincingly whimper, acknowledging this was her biggest opportunity to regain control of the situation, and by extension regain the ability to kill this stupid kid.

Damien let out a bitter laugh and he just felt pity for this girl. He could tell that she was trying anything to try to survive. Did she really think that he was that stupid? He couldn't let her take advantage of him again. Afterall, she was the one who attacked him first.

"You're so annoying...."

Damien let go of her arms and he put his hands onto her neck. He then started to put pressure onto her throat. He felt his eyes starting to water. He didn't even care if he was going to be a murderer now. He was pretty much destined to die on the island anyway.

"Just die, just die, just die, just die, just die...." Damien muttered as he stared down at Bianca's face and he put more pressure into choking the life out of her.
