Sighing as, once again, she held her prize in her fingers.

“What if it was Daniel? Or they found Ilya and Ray again and got the jump on them? Or if someone was trying to kill them?”

The lock clicked before she slid the key out.

“It may not have been, and you’re probably screaming at me if it wasn’t, but I don’t know yet. The one good thing about Zeph’s bullshit is that we know if a murderer can be trusted or not, but until then we’re basically left to assume, and we all know what they say about that.”

A small smile was given to her new tool.

“Hoping it won’t come back and bite me in the ass, you know?”
