Waitin' on a bus.

Not all of Highland Beach is sunshine and palm trees. Some people simply don't have the means to make it financially. Those people usually live in Clifton Court, an older neighborhood that hasn't been renovated since Village Harbor was constructed. The neighborhood has been deteriorating for years and many houses are in a state of disrepair. The people living here are either too poor, too set in their ways, or too strung out to care.

Waitin' on a bus.

Ben was rather bored at the moment. He had just gotten home from school a little bit ago and had to be at work in half an hour. He had grabbed a quick snack. They actually had ice cream for once! And now he was at the bus stop, waiting for it to pick him up so he could get to work soon.

The bus wasn't late yet, although it had a tendency to be a little early or a little late, depending on the day. So he was just sitting there, by himself. It was times like this that made him rather peeved that he didn't have a car, but his mom didn't have one either, and they had to rent their house so he probably shouldn't complain.

Of course it wasn't her fault. His mom worked hard and he was pitching in now. Sure, he was going to earn his own way once he joined the military, but for now this was where he was. Maybe he could help pay her back once he was on his own. That would be the right thing to do for all she had to do to keep them going.

Good plan, now where's the bus?

Ben sat there with his thoughts for a minute before the bus came.
