((Austin Greene continued from blood in the gutter))
He hadn't expected to find her here.
But why wouldn't she be here? They'd gone on the trip together. Of course they were both trapped here now.
He also hadn't expected... well, any of this.
...
"Jenelle..."
How was he even supposed to respond? What could he even say to her?
I'm sorry? I forgive you? I don't forgive you? I hate you? I love you?
Any of them would be an honest answer.
...
"Don't trust Crispin."
Honesty wasn't his forte. This would have to do.

She choked out a cry.
No words.
She raised the back of her hand to eye and rubbed. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.
Can't trust Crispin. It was a given.
"Is that why you're still asleep?"
No words.

"... kind of. He hurt me, but I'm... it's not, like, a coma or anything."
She didn't need the details of it. Austin was already a little fuzzy on those to begin with.
"Just..."
He'd never seen her like this. She'd always seemed such a hardass, a tough bitch, totally unflappable. She was awful to him, but there was... almost a sense of comfort in it, sometimes. Like the world's worst security blanket.
Seeing her so unmoored hurt in ways he didn't have the words for.
"I... I, um..."
Goddammit you weak bitch say something to her
"Survive. Please."

"He hurt you-"
Her bottom lip trembled.
She put the her hand over her mouth. She wasn't going to sob like a baby on camera. She couldn't.
"O-okay. Where are-" She started to hiccup. "Where are you?"
Nobody needed to know what he was saying anymore.

He couldn't tell her that. He'd be dead weight to her, the way he currently was. Even more of a burden than usual.
And...
And she wouldn't be able to accept what he had planned. Even if she knew better than to trust Crispin now, she probably wouldn't be able to accept it. She'd try to stop him, try to talk him out of it. But she couldn't actually stop this. None of them could.
Crispin needed to die. Austin needed to kill him. And Jenelle needed to stay as far away from them both as possible.
...
"I'm, uh, by some rocks and shit. Out in the desert. Dunno exactly where."
He hoped it was safer out there. Maybe there were fewer kids or something.
"I'm sorry."
With those words, his presence faded, like it hadn't been there at all
