V7 Trip Information

#1

Post by backslash »

Hey everyone. As we're sure you've noticed, final applications for V7 are now open, which means it's time to start thinking about which of your characters is going to be on the senior trip where the abduction takes place. That's the typical SOTF scenario and holds true for this version. However, we are going to be doing things a little differently this time around, and we think it'll be a fun experiment for you guys.

Instead of being abducted en route to their trip destination, the students of George Hunter High are going to be taken on the way back. In other words, the trip actually happens and goes off without a hitch, and handlers will have the opportunity to roleplay events taking place on the trip itself.

The George Hunter High School Class of 2018 is going to be headed to Washington, D.C. for their trip to have some fun exploring the city and the National Mall. At some point in the near future, a roleplaying section for the senior trip will open in the pregame forum. We are still ironing out the schedule for this, so stay tuned for updates!

We'll be sure to give plenty of warning for the end of prom, beginning of the trip, and any other events happening between now and the opening of game proper.

We'll provide a fully IC list of trip rules when the trip section launches, but here are a few things to keep in mind ahead of time:
1. Only students who will be headed to the island are going on the trip. If a character appears in the trip section who does not end up in the game proper, their trip threads will be considered non-canon.
2. Anything that wouldn't fly in the rest of pregame won't fly here. No seriously illegal activity or anything else that would get your character arrested or removed from the trip.
3. Students will still be expected to adhere to the school dress code in order to be able to go on the trip.
4. Additionally, as a result of the trip set-up, only specific members of GHHS staff will be available for use as NPCs during the trip itself. We will provide this information along with the trip rules.

Watch this space for more updates, and have fun with the rest of pregame! We hope you guys are looking forward to it as much as we are.
"Art enriches the community, Steve, no less than a pulsing fire hose, or a fireman beating down a blazing door. So what if we're drawing a nude man? So what if all we ever draw is a nude man, or the same nude man over and over in all sorts of provocative positions? Context, not content! Process, not subject! Don't be so gauche, Steve, it's beneath you."

The senior trip forum is now open! Here are a few things to keep in mind:

-The trip starts on Friday, June 1, 2018, and ends June 8. The return trip and abduction will take place on June 9. In real time, this section will remain open for the rest of pregame. Students are transported by charter bus.

-The chaperoning teachers which may be used as NPCs are: Ms. Garcia, Coach Oppenheimer, Coach Skinner, Ms. Prescott, Dr. Terrance, and Ms. Martin.

-Hotel rooms are randomly assigned IC, three to four students to a room. Rooming arrangements are divided by gender. Students were allowed to request accommodations for personal comfort and safety, such as gender non-conforming students stating where they'd be most comfortable, but there are no guarantees that the trip organizers could/would honor every rooming request that wasn't essential. That's all IC; OOC come up with whatever rooming arrangements you want as long as they fall within those guidelines.

-Remember that characters who have not been approved in final applications CANNOT appear in this section. Students who get approved and appear here but end up not being confirmed for the island will have their threads in this section declared non-canon to avoid continuity snarls.

-All standard pregame rules regarding illegal and otherwise disruptive activity apply here. Don't go egging the White House or anything; the school has threatened to send any students who are exceptionally disruptive home early.

-Have fun!
