Open!

This area consists of the trucking road and the customs office.

The trucking road, located at the outskirts of the fishing village, functions as the main entrance and exit to Cabeza del Dragón. The primary purpose for the trucking road, which is made of somewhat crumbly asphalt, was to facilitate the export of goods. Fish and other nautical resources made their way along this path, ending up in distant distribution centers for sorting and dispatch to other parts of America. As the road leads out of the main area of Cabeza del Dragón, the fishing village gives way to coastal grassland, and on the border between the fishing village and the grassland one can see several peddler stands dotting one side of the road. Although these stands are empty, they are now freely open, and still sport signs advertising their wares: seafood, horchata, and fresh fruits.

The customs office is a building located near the inland edge of the fishing village, built after American occupation for the purpose of facilitating the transportation and cataloging of resources and people passing in and out the village. On the outside, the customs office is a small, one story building disconnected from all other buildings in the village, boasting a single entrance and several tall windows. On the inside is a sort of waiting room. This room features several chairs sprinkled across the floor facing a teller stand, with several counters and low coffee tables in between. To access the teller stand, workers at the customs office used a door on one end of the waiting room, leading to the stand itself and to an employee room, consisting of several desks still stuffed with paperwork. Regardless of what room one is in, though, propaganda lines the walls; a number of posters celebrate the American way of life and the occupation of Mexico.

Cassandra didn't much enjoy the taste of Marmite. She'd only tried it once or twice, when she was young, and decided that she didn't like it then. It's not like being in this situation would change anything.

Cassandra opened up the jar and stuck her finger in, scooping out a glob of the spread and then sticking it into her mouth. She grimaced as the salty paste hit her tongue. She didn't like it. It was too strong, and too salty, and tasting it made her want to throw the whole thing away. But it tasted like something. It made her feel something.

Cassandra needed all the somethings she could get right now.

Oh, sure, she'd had the standard reactions upon waking up inside the small building. The confusion, the realization, the panic, it was all there.

Oh, god, what would Mom think?!

She'd hyperventilated. She'd dry heaved. She'd run the whole gamut.

That was... a while ago now. All of that feeling had been replaced with... well, emptiness.

She repeated the action. Finger into the Marmite. Finger into mouth. Grimace. The feeling of wanting to punt the jar into the ocean.

It was something.

Sebbo "Sebbo" Boston stood in front of the customs office, hair that was a bit messy, but not too messy, sunglasses on, broadened posture, in his school uniform, with this badass looking sword in his hands. He felt pretty badass, like a showgun, these japanese soldiers. What was it called? Shogun, showgun. He could make a pun out of this. Good idea. As he instinctively tried to grab his cellphone he realized that it had been taken away. Fuck you, David Adams.

Keep talking bullshit and show guns/
but my boys and i are shoguns/
we bring swords to gunfights/
but YOU'll be the ones not having a fun time

Fuck yeah.

Anyway, he was in a pretty terrible situation, but, well, he knew what he had to do. He had to do what he had to do. Kill his classmates to survive. Except, like, his buddies, he would never do that.

That's his option. Or die. Sebbo knew he would be able to win. Sebbo is a winner. Always was, always will be. There was not anything negotiable for this plan.

And, hey, when he comes out of this alive, he'd become an instant celebrity. That way he could promote his music. Which British label wouldn't want to sign a victim of disgusting war strategies committed by the American government?

He could write songs about his experience of being the survivor, plus he could release his old tracks. He should also write anti-American songs he could promote well.

But before facing his future, he had to deal with his present reality. As he entered the customs office with pride, he already saw his first opponent. That made his face be filled with more pride and confidence. With that tiny, mouse-faced girl as competition, his road back to Britannia was going to be faster than light.

Sebbo shouted to Cassandra with his rap voice, to make sure she was going to listen his verses while randomly swinging his rapier through the air.

"Listen gurl, ye face look like a rat/
and I'm gonna slice you up - like baguette."

He grinned and then proceeded to threateningly swing the sword in the air as if he had knowledge about how to handle it. He didn't, but at least he swinged it quick and hard enough that the sword-swinging made noises that hopefully sounded at least somewhat threatening. That was lit.

Cassandra nearly jumped out of her skin when the door suddenly opened. Surprise turned to fear when someone came in swinging a sword. Fear turned into confusion when he began shouting nonsense at her.

But he was still swinging the sword. The fear was still there. She slowly backed up against the wall before pushing herself up to a standing position.

Cassandra was going to die. There was a very high chance of that. Not in this situation, but in general. The chance of her surviving this entire ordeal was pretty low. But as the boy came in, shouting at her and swinging the sword around, Cassandra realized she didn't want to die. Not here. Not now. Something kicked in. She didn't know if the guy in front of her was planning to kill her, but she couldn't take the chance. She needed to get away, but the guy was blocking the only entrance.

So, Cassandra did the first thing she could think of: she threw the jar of Marmite at the boy's face.

As the jar of marmite rotated in the air, Sebbo wasn't really sure how to react to it as he was busy with his rapier. Then he had to squint as he felt it colliding with his palm with a thump. When he opened his eyes again his face was covered in marmite and his school uniform was ruined.

Boy, now he was pissed.

He began to charge at Cassandra with his rapier pointing forward.

Cassandra hadn't really thought past the throw. She didn't know what she expected to happen. The boy charging in was... one of those things, she guessed, but it barely registered in her mind as a conscious point.

But now he was charging at her with the sword.

Cassandra yelped, jumping out of the way. As she leapt to the side, her legs collided with a chair, sending her and it crashing to the floor.

She groaned, her body protesting from the hard fall. But she didn't forget her original plan. Get out. She began to slowly crawl toward the door.

He didn't manage to pierce her with his rapier, but she stumbled and fell down. Sebbo came to an halt before colliding with the wall himself and used this break to clean his face with his forearm to get rid of the smelly marmite.

He didn't have time to clean his sunglasses as he had to focus on the mouse-girl again. Just like the mouse she was, she had been crawling to the next exit. Guess that made him a big cat.

"There's no escape from me!"

After slowly going over the chair to get past the obstacle, he gave chase again, in a run.

Cassandra had made surprisingly good progress while the boy was busy cleaning his face.

She was still on the floor when the boy came charging at her. In the short time the boy had been preoccupied with the Marmite, Cassandra was still reeling from the impact with the floor, and hadn't thought to stand up. Now that he'd train his attention back on her, it was too late for that.

The boy ran at her. She couldn't just keep hoping to avoid his attacks. That first dodge had been, in her eyes at least, pure luck, and was going to run out eventually. She had to at least try and fight back. At least for long enough to get her bearings.

So, as the boy ran at her, she let out a war cry that sound more like a terrified squeak, even to her. She shot her foot upward, aiming between his legs.

It was kill or be killed and the mouse who squeaked knew this fact and played dirty. Right when he was running at her, with the rapier pointed at her torso, she kicked him.

Fuck.

He quickly forcefully pushed her leg away from his crotch and moved back, out of breath, then decided to fall to the floor.

"Gimme a minute."

Fuck. She knew where to hit him. His hand with the rapier was shaking and he was waiting for the pain to go away.

"Jesus Christ Maria," he whispered to himself. He took deep breaths while lying sideways on the dirtied floor of the office.

((Kian Banks continued from A Not So Beautiful Beach))

Well, this was not what he had wanted to walk into.

Kian had been more ahead of Molly as they had been walking toward the customs office building and he knew that she had been struggling with the sledgehammer. He would had offered to take it off her hands, but she probably would have refused. Not that he thought that she didn't trust him, but because it was her weapon. So he had to look back a few times to make sure that Molly was still with him. He didn't want this trip to be for nothing.

And now it looked like he was stepping into some sort of fight. Or the aftermath of a fight. There was a guy - Sebbo - who looked like he was in pain on the floor and there was a girl - Cassie? Cass? Sandra? Cassandra! - who was also on the floor but she looked like she was afraid or somewhere along those lines.

"Hey, what the heck is going on here?" Kian said as he was standing in the doorway and he was staring down at them with a puzzled expression on his face.

Was he about to get caught up in something more worse? He hoped not.

((Molly McKenzie continued from A Not So Beautiful Beach))

It's already started, hasn't it? Mutual killing? Molly couldn't watch.

Although she was fit and athletic, sledgehammers weren't the most un-cumbersome thing to carry around, espicially after...how long had it been, really? Her right hand was unusually tired from carrying both the bag and the sledgehammer. Her left hand was hugging her chest tightly, choking the bunny by the neck. Her short hair had covered her face, and in fact, if it wasn't for the fact that she noticed Kian stopping, she would have bumped into a building. And really...a concussion was one of the worst things someone could get here. Still wasn't going to say thank you though.

Molly only saw the scene for a few seconds; Sebbo on the floor in pain (of course, that would happen.) and uh...someone from Molly's swim team was on the floor as well, although she didn't see to be in pain. Just distressed. What had happened? She shouldn't lie to herself, she knew exactly what happened. Sebbo and a...sword, that was not a good mix.

Molly swiftly stopped looking in, as she knew that the two in there could also look out. She pressed her back up against a nearby wall, and let Kian do his stuff.

Why was she such a coward? Wasn't she supposed to be the alpha queen?

Cassandra couldn't believe that actually worked. This was her opportunity to leave, to escape. She righted herself, getting ready to stand up and run.

Her plans were stopped in their tracks as the door opened and someone else poked their head in. She fell to the floor again in surprise. She looked to Sebbo, who was still in the process on regaining his bearing. Then she looked to the other boy. She didn't know what the other boy was going to do, but... he hadn't immediately tried to kill her.

Cassandra scooted sideways, away from both boys. She pointed to Sebbo.

"He's... he's..."

Sebbo used his hands to cover his crotch. All he had to do was to breathe deep, but that was easier said than done. Ah damn this simply wasn't his day.

Then the door opened and two shapes appeared in front of the cat and the mouse.

Fuck. He needed to get up.

Sebbo was now on his knees and looked at the newcomers. Kian. Who did not know Kian? And Molly was with him. Before he wanted to greet them he had to finish what he had started. He grabbed his sword and tried to stand on his feet, ignoring the pain between his legs.

Slowly, rapier pointing forward he approached Cassandra again, with a look in his eyes that would kill if they could.

She was not going to get away with that.

Kian didn't even think about what he was doing next. But it was something that had sparked inside of him as he noticed what was happening. This was really turning into what he hoped it wasn't.

He realized that Sebbo was really intent on trying to either hurt or kill Cassandra. He was sensing the latter. He didn't even think about telling Molly to get her sledgehammer ready. Normally he would try to think up a plan of what to do next. But he didn't even have time to do that. He had to act quickly. He had to put himself at risk if he wanted to help the girl out. Kian knew that he wasn't the most strongest guy around but if he had to get involved. Now was the time.

So he sprinted forward and lunged himself right into Sebbo's side, putting his own weight into trying to knock Sebbo away from Cassandra.

Molly froze in place, breathing was the only movement coming from her. Otherwise, she could have been a statue blocking the door, with a sledgehammer in her hand. Her expression was frozen as well, in an expression that resembled a detective coming across a body. However, unlike the rest of her fearful face, Molly's eyes were vacant. Dissociated.

Molly couldn't say she hated Sebbo, back then, really. He was a prick, a delinquent. Someone who Molly would never be friends with. But there wasn't much people that Molly hated, especially since Sebbo never really hurt her in anyway, unlike some 'nice' people. Hate was a word that couldn't be used on people lower than her either. Molly didn't hate freaks, cows, or stalkers. Disgust overruled any other emotions towards them, and she supposed dislike was the strongest she felt for people like them. Molly truly didn't hate many people.

Which made this so much harder. What was she supposed to do here? She didn't want herself to get hurt, and she sure as hell couldn't hurt anyone. Of course. She was useless.

Without any thoughts or logic in her mind, She was walking towards them, with an expression expressing both benevolence and malevolence, her entire body shaking. Most importantly of all,

Her sledgehammer was put over her head, with both her hands gripping it. Normally, Molly would think this through, try to keep peace, maybe even try to help Cassandra, and definitely not considering doing this.

But Molly wasn't in her proper mindset now, or even in a mindset, wasn't she?
