Beaten, Whipped, and Stirred

Brigid shuffled into the classroom and quickly plopped down in her seat. She took off her wool coat and let it partially hang off the back of her chair. Culinary Arts was one of her favorite classes in school. The teacher, Mrs. Spaulding, was a sweet lady from Georgia who was always kind to Brigid. Being able to make food and eat it was also a fun thing for Brigid to do in her time at school. She felt very comfortable in the work kitchen the school set up.

Today was a fun exercise. The students would be making chocolate lava cakes, something that got Brigid very excited. She had tried making lava cakes from a box recipe, and they turned out very well. All she hoped was that she could get along with her group. She wasn't sure if she could get along with the kids in her group, or if they would even like her.

Still, the main concern was participation, and Brigid was ready to make lava cakes. She had the recipe card in hand, and knew her role in the group. She just needed everyone to show up and they could get started.

The lava cakes were so delicious. Brigid didn't know how she could have lunch after that. Still, it was better to eat when possible, so Brigid packed up her bag and left for lunch.
