And just like that, Megumi was gone.
Chisato wasn't sure what she was supposed to do now. She was all alone. She needed to find any of her other friends that was left. She needed to keep herself together. She couldn't break down right now and weep like a babbling mess of chaos. She needed to keep her head on straight. Even if she was trying so hard to not look at Shinji and Oda's bodies. She never wanted things to turn out this way. She needed to get herself away from here.
Like Megumi did.
She hoped that the other girl was going to be okay without her. She prayed that she would be able to see her again at some point.
She glanced over at Kayoko's bag and she knelt down to unzip it, peeking inside.
Her breathing stopped for a brief second.
She now understood.
The truth completely hit her like a ton of falling bricks.
She had to get herself to move on.
She couldn't bare the guilt she was feeling over Shinji. Her heart was shattering like a fragile glass.
