Being spooky with RPG Maker games; Open

This is the Sandbox for TV3. Please remember that characters may, at any given time, be present in only one normal thread and one Memory thread. Memory threads should be placed within the Memories subforum. One-shots are always acceptable in both forums regardless of whether or not a character is in a thread.

Alright. Everything was set up. Carol did a test run of the audio earlier on in the day, to make sure the levels were correct and everything. Of course, things could always still go wrong, but she was going to hope they weren't. Her eyes went to the clock. Nine minutes to seven. Alright, it seemed like she was more or less on schedule. She checked that her webcam was working, and showing her pretty face. Cool and nice. And of course, the most important part, the actual desktop screen. It wasn't going to be a stream if she didn't show any gameplay. Duh. It seemed to be in working order though, so that was another mark off the checklist.

Carol was reasonably sure that everything was good to go.

Fuck it, throw the switch.

SaBiTSuKi just went live on Twitch

After that, she threw out messages on Discord so that people knew she was on.

Carol wasn't a streamer, of course. Not really. That would implying that she did this as a career (or hoped to). Carol streamed sometimes, but she didn't follow a schedule or anything. She just went on sometimes, whenever she felt like it, and usually just to a small audience of friends. That was fine. Carol wasn't a streamer. She was just someone who shared games sometimes.

HowdyDudey: sup nerd
Ulaine: o/
HowdyDudey: you talkin? I can't hear you

"I'm talking now," Carol replied to the chat.

What was on the menu for today? Well, Carol was going to go through some RPG Maker horror and similar games. If she felt like it later she might hop onto Champions and play some ARAMs. They were just going to have to see.

She loaded up the first game.

"Alright, hey, guys. We're gonna be playing some obscure horror games today," she said, "Maybe ARAM after? Iunno."

She wasn't expecting many people to watch. Not that she minded. Carol wasn't a streamer, of course.

Carol was a streamer. Giselle knew many streamers. Among her friends? A couple. Among her classmates? Not that many. But Carol was a streamer.

She was going to play RPGMaker games, Giselle's forte. She had played a lot of smaller ones she'd found in forums in the internet and she could probably recommend some. Maybe Carol and Giselle could become friends, they had common interests, after all. The only problem though was apparent in her twitch channel description and in the thumbnails of her previous broadcasts.

Champioooooons.

Giselle did not hate everyone who played it, she had some friends who played it as well, but she does hate it very much. It was a total garbage game. Way too commercial, way too much glorifying SOTF and it's Lore, bringing people into SOTF and also desensitising them to them, glorifying contestants by letting people play the fictionalised version of the winners, despite them being based on real people, who experienced real violence. Real people like her. Real people like Carol.

Winners would give up their real names to be included in this game. Their names were now owned by a video game company to let other people play them.

It was trash too, and only is played by teenagers who have too much time on their hands.

Giselle sighed to cool down from her inner rage. She was here for the RPGMaker and as long as she's playing some games that aren't SOTF Champions there is nothing to worry about. RPGMaker games had soul. They were created with effort and not aimed towards getting as much money from dumb SOTF fans as possible.

GGGGGGGG: Hey :3
I'm so glad to be back !
