Re: Duck, You Sucker!

As Benny slumped against the side of the hill, the he got a closer (and yet further, and steadily dimming) view of Simon. He was pretty badly mangled - it looked like his leg had gotten caught in the bridge and torn off almost entirely - and he was clearly in no shape to kill anyone else. I got him....

Re: Duck, You Sucker!

The first thing Benny heard as he slid down the hill was the sound of Simon shooting. Benny was in plain sight of Simon, more or less, so the fact that the shot didn't hit him at all could only mean one thing. He was shooting at Katie and Cameo. In his haste to get across the bridge, he forgot that ...

Re: Duck, You Sucker!

It was harder to aim his pistol than Benny had expected. It always looked simple whenever he saw it done in the movies. Ready, aim, fire, right? And he even had some vague, probably incorrect idea of how to brace so the recoil didn't make the gun fly out of his hands into the river. But actually get...

Re: Duck, You Sucker!

((Benny Lightfield continued from Bring Me the Head of Simon Mattheson )) They had come full circle. Well, only he had actually. Over the past 30 or so hours, Benny had traced a full counterclockwise circle around the map using the train tracks. He had crossed the bridge, made a huge arc through the...

Re: The Funniest Joke in the World

Benny felt the shadows of Ramona and Patrick looking over his shoulder. It made things easier to read - the map didn't look as washed out as it did illuminated by so much bright light. From what the two of them had said, he started to agree with them. The town would probably have a lot of people, no...

Re: The Funniest Joke in the World

Benny listened - intently, as Ramona had just reminded him that his mouth was about to outrun the river below them again - as Patrick told him about the staircase nearby. Well of course there's a staircase there. Benny wasn't exactly the most observant guy when it came to his surroundings. He leaned...

Re: The Funniest Joke in the World

Benny took a look down at the map, trying to find a bridge, when he suddenly heard another voice coming from across the bridge. He looked over to see Patrick Reynolds approaching them. Yes! They were finding people, and friendly ones at that! He greeted him with a big wave. "Hey Patrick! Ramona...

Re: The Funniest Joke in the World

Once Ramona had mentioned that, yes, that's a gun and he probably shouldn't be pointing it at random, he calmed down a little. He was usually pretty hyper, but the whole ordeal he had just been through had taken some of it out of him. Now he was more nervous than anything else - it was all he could ...

Re: The Funniest Joke in the World

Ramona had answered his questions in a way that made his question seem kind of stupid. That's right, that guy did say something about provisions. Not to mention there was also something about randomly getting weapons. That paddle certainly could count as a weapon if you could swing it hard enough, n...

Re: The Funniest Joke in the World

Benny recognized that voice. It belonged to Ramona Shirley, fellow drama person, actually pretty good singer, and always friendly. He whirled around and greeted her at the top of his lungs: "Ramona!" He immediately started sprinting towards her, and promptly tripped over his backpack lying...

The Funniest Joke in the World

Did you know they had a contest once where they tried to find the funniest joke in the world? One of the winners went something like this: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson went camping. They pitched their tent in an open field and went to sleep. Later that night, Holmes wakes Watson up and asks, “Look...

Re: Devil Nights

Martin’s conciliatory words got lost in the shuffle. There were Amanda’s incredulous words. Roy’s accusatory words. Leo’s disbelieving words. Delilah’s panicked words. But Holly chose to act instead of speaking, and her gunshot spoke loudest of all. Martin yelled something as soon as he saw Holly ra...

Re: Devil Nights

Martin kicked back in the chair for a little while, halfway between dreams of home and the reality of the Wild West he was stuck in. Voices rose out of the dark fog clouding his mind and pulling him into a deeper sleep. Sure, there were those of people talking to each other to make sure they had the...

Re: Devil Nights

Martin searched through the room he had found. It was a living room, or so he guessed - it was large enough, but it was stripped of anything that could make it as livable as the name suggested. There were a few chairs in the corners, one of them a rocking chair, and there was easily space for more. ...

Devil Nights

((Martin Ricco continued from The Great Elsewhere )) The group of five former high school students had found the houses a bit more difficult to find than expected. It was almost as if the town was changing its shape every time they thought they had it figured out. Martin then remembered that every n...
