The temple is a rather ornately constructed building featuring a large mural depicting a rising sun over and across the entrance doors. However, once you step inside, the luster vanishes. The time it has been left abandoned is beginning to take its toll as the building is very musty. Rows of mildewy cushions are arranged in a semi-circle, all facing a large painting of an angel on the back wall that has worn away to such a degree the face is no longer visible. Large rectangular panels of silk fabric also hang from the walls and across the ceiling, although these too show signs of mold growth.

The PA system came to life.

Garnet hated that she could tell that it was off cycle.

She was bouncing back here to the temple grounds like a pong game, the only place to go from the cliffside, now that everything was hemmed in by the danger zones. She couldn't stay there.

The announcement was off cycle.

She had no other option but to listen.

And Danya spoke.

And Danya spoke.

And Danya spoke.

Ace was gone. Katelynne was gone.

Marco was gone.

And... there... were... just the two of them?

They were all that was left?

She'd known. She'd known that it wouldn't be too long. Known that there were only so many survivors, but

some job she'd done.

Finally stepping up just in time for it to be even more—

Still doing this, huh?

Garnet held the back of her head with both hands, stared down, let gravity dislodge her glasses and turn the ground blurry as they hung off her ears.

Okay. Okay.

She straightened. Put her glasses back. Adjusted her hat. Adjusted her hat. Fiddled with her jacket. Adjusted her hat.

Okay.

((concluded: Endgame))
