See Megan. See Megan in the brush. She is tired, now. Dark and deep though the woods may have been, it was bizarre that she hadn't been able to find anyone. A bigger impact would probably be possible if she stuck to places where she wouldn't so easily get lost. Not that it was possible for a piece of driftwood like Megan to get lost, but it kinda was.

For one, she was in the brush, instead of out on the beach, which was where she had headed at first. Brain caught up, reminded her she was being selfish, so here she was. And she had stopped humming, too. It wasn't too bad, living without voice. There were the waves, the birds, the crickets. They could be Megan's friends. They would do.

A few deep breaths now. Megan's fingers danced nervously on her arms, drumming out some silent, frantic pattern. Now think. It's going to be okay, it's okay to not be okay, it's...no. Someone please tell Megan that it's okay to want to be okay, like she gets that she can't just up and shuffle off but God, it'd be nice if she didn't want to so much.

God, please let Megan know...not that she's going to be okay, nothing selfish like that. Okay, it is selfish, actually. But like. Okay. Megan's having a bit of a crisis of faith right now, and it's an unusual one; see, you love Megan, right? Because you love everyone, even that one, and that one, and, well, this one. Can you do her a favor, tell Megan that? Tell her that she's wrong when she tells herself that it's impossible for you to exist because you allegedly love her and it's not possible for anyone to love her because she doesn't deserve love, yes, she knows your love goes to even those that don't deserve love, but she just can't really believe it right now, you know? When she'd sent Kayla off into the lake, and fucked up every prayer, and...well. Does she not hurt you?

God, please let Megan die, or pleases let Megan feel better. Here, gazing out across the ocean, letting her eyes drift and settle on the heavens, everything seemed so very very far away.
