Stretch. Pose. Hold. Release.

Saffron's focus was sharp as she went through her warm-up routine. Her body needed to be as limber as she could make it for her to dance, and that was equally true in practice as well as recitals. Every limb needed to stretch so that it could do whatever she required of it as she went through her routine. Her head needed to be clear and tranquil as she kept the steps in order in her mind. Her preferred method may have been freestyle, but making sure that every movement flowed into the next was her highest priority.

Dance was the essence of her being, the truest form of her creative spirit. It was who she was, and who she wanted to be. When she danced, she felt like all of her limits were removed, and anything was truly possible as long as she kept moving. It drove her mind and her aspirations. It encouraged her, it aided her. Most importantly, it gave her a goal to achieve.

Her paralyzed hand didn't matter, because she didn't need those fingers when she danced. She just needed the rest of her body, and it did more than enough to raise her to the levels that she desired. She felt confident and prepared, but most importantly, she felt good.

She finished her stretching routine and put her finger on the radio's play button. The track was delayed a few seconds to allow her time to get into position, but in her mind, there was no time to waste at all. She hit the button and returned to the center of the room, ready to begin her routine in earnest.

It was time to dance.
