Virginia Dawkins

NPCs (non-player characters) go here. This section is for characters who will not be participating in the game, including teachers and school administration. To encourage consistency, the staff have created a number of ready-made teachers, all of whom are available for free handler use unless stated otherwise. Please add any teachers you create to this roster. DO NOT create new departments/subjects for the school without first getting a staffer's okay.

Virginia Dawkins

#1

Post by SOTF_Help »

Name: Virginia Dawkins
Position: Theater
Gender: F
Age: 52

Appearance: Ms. Dawkins looks somewhat young for her age, with a round face and soft, yet thin body. The biggest signs of her age come out in her face- crows' feet line her light blue-gray eyes, small smile lines frame thin lips, and gray sprouts at the roots of her platinum-blonde hair. She stands at about 5'6, with long, graceful legs and arms. She prefers a practical style of dress, often wearing black suit pants and clean, classic cut blouses in whites, blues, and purples. She detests heels, and is only ever seen in her favorite pair of black flats.

Biography/Personality: Ms. Dawkins was an actress by profession, spending her twenties in theater troupes in New York (where she was born). In her mid thirties, she landed a spot in the traveling tour of a musical. The show ended in Seattle, and Ms. Dawkins quickly fell in love with the city. As she grew older, acting jobs grew scarcer, and she decided to fall back on a teaching career. By the time she was 40, she was teaching part time in camps and schools around Seattle. At 42, she was hired by Aurora High School to be a full-time drama teacher.

Ms. Dawkins, though not intimidating in appearance, is highly respected by her students for her no-nonsense nature. She runs the Drama Department like a professional, expecting the kids to pick up necessary skills like set-building and costume design as well as acting. While usually kind, she's not afraid to call out students on laziness, and expects every one of her kids to take the class seriously. She's always around to help students with material (auditions, lines for the plays, or essays/discussion on the plays they read in class) after school. Besides the classes, Ms. Dawkins also directs the productions the school puts on every year, and encourages students outside of theater to come in and join the plays.
