The neon blue sign running vertically down the side of the brick building is enough to grab one's attention. The Varsity is a fairly well-known sports lounge, catering to teens and adults alike. A blue star stamp on your hand indicates you aren't old enough to drink alcoholic beverages, but many teens have easily found their way around that. The lounge itself is nice, with flatscreens lined up on the walls and pool tables, foosball tables, and arcade games set up around the area.

Dustin watched as Rosa balanced herself on the pool table, swaying slightly and looking at him in what could best be described as an unfocused attempt at being seductive. He took his guitar off his back and balanced it against the table, uncharacteristically stunned at his luck.

Why didn't I try her on earlier? This has got to be the easiest lay that's ever offered herself to me.

His smirk grew wider and he chuckled to himself as she walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around him, pushing herself up against him in an altogether unsubtle manner.

"So... what're you up to later tonight?"

Bing! Tell the audience what she's won tonight, Dustin!

"That all depends on you, mademoiselle."

Teo mentioned something about taking Rosa up to the bar and playing later, and Dustin nodded, uttering a passive "Yeah, sure". Dustin turned around in Rosa's arms - an action made difficult by Rosa's surprisingly strong grip - and smiled at her.

"So whaddya say? Shall we take this party to the bar, or to somewhere a bit more...private?"

Morgan was reminded about how fast the year was moving. Life had moved by at such a brisk pace that he hadn't paid much attention to the passing years. Now, however it was a growing realization and it wasn't a particularly fun one.

He hadn't really spent the time to really investigate the collegiate route. He had always figured that he could wait a little longer and find out what he wanted to do over high school, a plan that had merit, but failed due to a lack of application. He could always travel abroad, have a little fun in the European casinos and see all the usual spots to see, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and so on.

However a more important thought was running through his brain; Prom Night was coming up and was coming up fast. He needed to get his ass in gear and have a true heart to heart with Jen Romita. Maybe ask her out, or just flat out and say that he loved her, preferably when she wasn't dating someone.

Life is just too damn complex...

"Well...I guess you could say it's getting exiting. There's so much going on though it's kinda hard to follow it all. I mean I'm not planning to go on a date for prom really, but there is still the tux and the grooming and the rehearsal and all that. I suppose it might be fun though, I mean it all depends on whether people try to spoil the party with drinki-"

It was at this point that he noticed Rosa and Dustin doing exactly what he expected they would, preparing to partake in another wonderful little sexual excursion. There was no stopping this event from taking place, but as he had 'promised' to Robert he would try to at least get her home safely.

"Hey Rosa!" he called out to her, "You're looking a little drunk. You want me to call you a cab?"

This is gonna fail real badly...

Morgan talked a little, mostly about Prom, but suddenly cut off and turned towards the pool game, shouting a somewhat meek offer to call Rosa a cab. Jennifer knew immediately that it wouldn't work. Rosa seemed to be just as set on the inevitable conclusion of her interactions with Dustin as he was.

Only, Rosa's drunk. She's absolutely in no condition to make any sort of decision. Dustin must see that. He's...

Jennifer wracked her mind for an appropriate word, and settled on "predator". That seemed fitting. Praying on the defenseless for his sexual kicks.

She looked to Morgan and quietly asked "Do you think we should, um, prevent this somehow?"

Oh, real brave Jennifer. Just pass the responsibility on to someone else, make it their problem. You're the one who's really in a position to do something about it.

That thought stopped her cold. She was in a position to bring this whole thing to a stop. She wasn't the best student, not by a long shot, but the one class she truly shined in was psychology, an elective that was quite applicable to real life. Jennifer never really tended to think about people's motivations until disaster was imminent, but then she often found surprising insights. When she applied herself, she could read people quite well.

Dustin really is more like a scavenger, a vulture or something. He isn't expecting anyone to do anything to stop this. One good metaphorical kick and he'll run.

And boy will he be pissed. Probably Rosa too, she's too drunk to realize it'd be for her own good.

Oh fuck.

The last thing she wanted was to get into a huge fight with Rosa. Besides, even if she understood what Jennifer had done when she sobered up, and that was a big if, Dustin would still make for awkward moments throughout the rest of the year. That would be really uncomfortable.

Why couldn't someone else just step up and make an honest effort to stop this? Then Jennifer could just step in to give their actions some extra force. She wouldn't have to stick her neck out, and Rosa would be kept safe. It would make things so much easier. Jennifer didn't like acting on her own. She liked having a nice group to tag along with, a nice bandwagon to jump on. She didn't like being forced to make decisions like this. She'd just come into The Varsity for a bite to eat, and she'd finished her food now. Rosa had had to go and put her into this awkward situation, and Dustin, and Robert with his request, and even Morgan with his pathetic token effort.

Fuck them all! Fuck them all! Fuck Rosa and Dustin; they deserve each other! Fuck Robert, sneaking out instead of actually doing anything, and passing the responsibility on to us! Fuck Morgan, dropping the ball like that!

I'm doing exactly the same thing.

It was true. She stopped for a second. She had just tried to pass the ball back to Morgan, even though he obviously couldn't, or wouldn't, do anything about it. She looked back at Rosa and Dustin. Maybe this would be good for them. Maybe it was what they both really wanted.

That's not true.

She sighed quietly. She would put a stop to it.

If someone else made a move first.

Jennifer was willing to make a stand, but she sure wasn't willing to do it on her own. If no one else stepped up, well, no one could blame her for doing the same, right?

Once Dustin had turned around, Rosa took a step forward so that she was again pressed right up against him. She somewhat doubted that Dustin would be keeping his suave composure for too much longer, unless being inebriated was causing her to lose a little bit of her 'touch'. Then again, whoever said that subtlety was needed to get somebody turned on?

Rosa wasn't really in a flirty mood, she'd come out more or less specifically to find somebody to hit the sack with, and as such, wasn't particularly interested in going to the bar again. She'd already been there for three fairly boring hours drinking by herself, and didn't feel like staying there much longer. There was an itch that needed to be scratched. Promptly. Besides, Dustin wouldn't object right? Not unless he needed a drink to get it up or something... and given their proximity, Rosa would probably be finding out very quickly whether or not that was the case.

"Do you have a car?" Rosa murmured to Dustin. "And if so... does that count as 'private' to you?"

Fuck it, she couldn't wait to drive all the way back to somebody else's place. It'd been a pretty long evening in her view...

Be eager... c'mon... oh... and you better not be a fucking fumbler. I didn't come out here just to pick up somebody who doesn't know what they're doing.

Morgan speaking up pretty much ruined the anticipation of Dustin's reply. It'd been quite a long time since she'd done anything serious in a car. Rosa looked over to him with a flash of irritation, but masked it with a shot of sarcasm.

"Gee, I dunno, does it look like I want a cab?" Okay, sure, it wasn't nice exactly, but it was much better than giving him the finger or something, wasn't it?

I hope you do have a car... rough is just what I'm in the mood for.

Teo could tell that Dustin and Rosa weren't going to be coming back to play another game. Well, at least not of pool. The rest of his night was spent finishing the current game with Natasha and then heading home for the night. No school tomorrow, but it was always good to have some quality time with your significant other.

((Continued from Could've Danced All Night))

She was coming to the end of a nearly perfect day. Besides the slight rush to get her sister off to rehearsal, it had been great. Shopping, chatting, an Orange Julius, and now a night at The Varsity. Too bad she couldn't pass the eyeball test. She looked like she was about fifteen, so she couldn't really sneak by without the stamp. She'd heard rumors that the guy at the door would take bribes (cash or not) but she didn't really feel like pushing it. She made a little face at the lounge's logo as it got stamped on her hand. But being in was cool. There was a Twins game on one of the televisions, some open pool tables, and a few hot guys from school.

Worst case scenario: shoot a few rounds, call it a night. Best case: score your prom date.

Stacy took a seat at the bar and waited for the barkeep to come by.

"Pepsi-cola, no ice please? Thanks." She smiled at the guy next to her. He looked about her age, though she didn't recognize him offhand. Bayview was pretty big though, so it could have been somebody in her class or even an older junior. Her drink didn't take long. She paid for it and sipped slowly, trying to place the young man. She kept coming up blank and decided that it was probably just some random guy. If he was interested, he'd talk to her. She smiled again and let her eyes flick up to the screen.

"Three to one...bottom of the forth. Hope we can hold that. I hate seeing our boys lose."

((OOC: Sorry about the wait. Image ))

Rosa was tenacious, this much Dustin was discovering. And she doesn't even need to be, hahah.

"Do you have a car? And if so... does that count as 'private' to you?"

Dustin felt a familiar stirring in an area many young ladies in St. Paul had been acquainted with, and he assumed Rosa was able to feel that stirring as well, given how tightly she was clamped around the front of his body. He chuckled to himself, a consciously condescending chuckle directed at Rosa's 'innocence' (using the term very loosely).

"Of course I have a car. It's parked outside. Would you like to check it out? I just got it reupholstered."

Dustin enjoyed playing games with the girls he was about to sleep with - partly because he found an odd pleasure in making innuendos, and partly because bluntness had not served him well in the birthing days of Dustin Royal, Lothario.

The Morgan kid asked Rosa if she wanted a taxi, and while she was spitting out her reply, Dustin pried her off of him and slung his guitar over his back. No way was he leaving that in The Varsity.

Once he'd done so, he put one arm over her shoulders and leaned in to Rosa's ear, whispering -

"Well? I don't think either of us want to wait all night."

Was Morgan terribly surprised by Rosa's response? Not at all, however she was at least sober enough to be slightly courteous to him. At least he wasn't on the floor with a bloody nose or black eye.

He shrugged and put his hands in his pocket, "Suit yourself, have yourself a nice night."

With his conscience clear he sat down and turned back to Jen, "So uh, anyways, where were we?" he said, pausing for a moment as he stared at his plate for a moment, "Oh right, end of year! The end of school year trip should be nice too, I mean, what with exams and all that. I think a refreshing trip is just what we need. I mean it's a-"

Once again, there was another odd sensation running through Morgan. He was being watched again. Why in the hell were people paying attention to him? Was it some sort of bar thing where people stared at each other or what?

Morgan held up a finger to signal to hold any thoughts and turned to see a blue haired punk girl staring straight at him, at an uncomfortably close distance, he might add. He had a feeling that although he tried to maintain a reasonably blank look he felt a slight twitch in his face. Still, he tried to put up a reasonable face after the initial wave of shock.

He took a quick glance over to the TV and saw that somebody had changed the game to a Twins late night match against the Seattle Mariners and sure enough they were winning. He wasn't much of a baseball fan, found it too slow for his taste. However, if the team was doing well he would pay attention around September and October.

"Y-yeah, I know what you mean." he murmured, before clearing his throat slightly, "Um, do I know you from school? I can't quite remember."

Rosa turned down Morgan's offer of a cab. It was obvious that no one was going to step in and stop Dustin, and Jennifer was secretly relieved. It would be so much easier to just sit back and let nature take its course.

Is it really natural? Well, sex is an important part of life, I guess...

You're being horrible! You can't just let this happen. You can't just sit by! You have to do something

Morgan was talking more. He mentioned the Senior trip. Jennifer hoped that people would be able to be civil to each other during it. If it wasn't full of drama it had the potential to be really great. And if it was a mess, well, most of them would never see each other again afterwards, so it wasn't even that huge a deal.

Morgan held up a finger and turned around as someone behind him spoke. Jennifer leaned over a little and took a look. It was a short, blue haired, completely-facially-pierced punk girl, someone Jennifer had seen around school before. Her last name was Heart, Jennifer thought, and her first name started with an S. Probably Sara. She wasn't quite sure what grade the girl was in; she looked pretty young even for a Junior.

My, but the Varsity's the place for Bayview students tonight.

Morgan and Ms. Heart seemed to be checking out the TV. Some baseball game was playing. Jennifer didn't know anything about the game or the teams; her only interaction with sports was when her friends dragged her to games. She cheered along with them, while paying as little attention as possible to the actual action.

By this time she had finished her meal, and she was starting to feel a bit like a third wheel. She asked for her check while Morgan was occupied with the other girl, and paid with her debit card.

She then turned to Morgan and said, "Um, unless you guys need anything else, I'd, uh, probably better get going here."

She nodded before starting to speak. "Sorry for staring, I was trying to place you. Bayview's huge, so you get your clique going and you know mostly just them. Sometimes I see somebody I kind of recognize and can't remember if they're in my class or if they've just got one of those faces..."

She took another sip of her drink. "I'm Stacy. You might have seen me if you've been to any of the school wrestling matches. I'm the girl." Stacy laughed and tapped her lip. "You are in my class...I think we have English together...or maybe Physics. Are you in fourth hour English maybe?"

She continued to think about it, returning to her drink. For a moment, she kind of wanted ice, just so she could swirl it with her straw, but Stacy never got ice and wasn't starting now. It was mostly because her teeth were sensitive to the cold that she refused ice. The extra kick from a few ice cubes made them hurt a little. Besides, fountain drinks were usually cool enough from being in the machine.

She glanced back up at the screen and shook her head. The Twins' left fielder dropped the ball, and allowed a double with one on first.

"Chose the wrong time to look at the screen. That was just bad...wait...you're Jen or something right? I've seen you hanging around with some of the class officers. I skipped the last class meeting, do you know where we're going for the Senior Trip?"

A smile began to spread across Rosa's face as she started to feel something that told her very explicitely that Dustin was... 'up' for it, so to speak. Fantastic.

"I'd love to check your car out... and other things besides."

Great, after Leftowitz' initial offer of a cab, it seemed he'd wised up enough to realise that Rosa really didn't want his help. Was it not obvious that she was looking for ... somebody, just as much as Dustin was? People should just leave well enough alone. Sure, Rosa was more than slightly drunk, but all that really affected was how quickly she was coming on to Dustin.

Really, she'd gone to the Varsity for the exact purpose of finding a lay, and she'd very much found one, it was as simple as that.

Fuck yes... he does have a car. Hopefully he's not one of those guys that gets all flustered about the thought of cleaning up his mess. Besides... I think after a minute or so in, he'll have forgotten all about any jobs he'll have to do afterwards. I guess I could wait... but I don't really fucking wanna.

Anyway, I can tell you're pretty frisky... I doubt you'll even want to hold on...

Rosa waved a couple of goodbyes to Lefowitz and Jennifer, even if she didn't really appreciate the former's sentiments, and began to head for the door, holding Dustin's hand as she did so. She let go after a couple of moments and exited into the car park, and, presuming he was following her, called over her shoulder:

"So, where's this car of yours? I hope it's not too confined."

"I'd love to check your car out... and other things besides."

OH YES.

Rosa grabbed his hand and walked out, him almost being dragged behind her due to the suddenness of her movements. She let go at the door and walked out in front of him, assuming he was behind her.

"So, where's this car of yours? I hope it's not too confined."

The Supre wasn't exactly the best car for quickie sex in the backseat, but Dustin had made sure when he bought it that it at least offered enough space for movement and window-palming, and he smiled to himself, knowing his choice of car was about to prove itself immaculate yet again.

"Oh, no, it's just around the block," he said with a smooth voice, swinging his guitar around to the front of him and grabbing it, ready to play. "Follow me, fair maiden, and I shall take you to a chariot more than equipped for all sorts of...physical activity."

Dustin strummed the guitar mindlessly as he walked backwards, smiling at the girl. Looking behind him, he could see the Supre just around the corner, and he began walking backwards in that direction, still mindlessly playing chords on his guitar.

Only a matter of time now, Dustin. Don't rush it. No need to spook her when you're this close.

Morgan caught a glimpse of Rosa and Dustin walking off before he returned his focus to the image in front of him. He didn't quite recognize Stacy at first but the mention of fourth period English he remembered her. Then again it would be pretty hard to forget the blue hair now that he thought about it.

"Yeah, I think we're in English yeah..." he said, "I'm Morgan."

The way that Stacy entered their area was still catching Morgan off guard. He looked down to his empty plate for a moment and made a motion for the bill. It was high time for him to get out of here, but he wasn't exactly going to leave so suddenly, it was rude to leave without saying anything, after all.

Morgan turned to Jen, pretending to show an interest into where they were going to go for the trip. It didn't really matter to him anyhow, but it might be cool to know it. Besides, he could keep it a secret.

Oh fuck what on earth is she talking about?

Jennifer was thinking furiously. Were any of her friends class officers? It was possible. She couldn't remember who had been elected. If they were, she certainly hadn't heard them mention anything about it, but then again, what did class officers actually do?

Unless... Stacy had said that she'd seen Jennifer with the officers, but what if that wasn't true? What if she'd heard that a Hispanic Jennifer hung around with class officers?

Bayview Secondary's Senior class was home to two Jennifers: Jennifer Perez and Jennifer Romita. Jennifer P. was interested in making clothes. She liked hanging out with younger students, or people who would sort of give her direction. She didn't particularly stand out. Jennifer R. was... a little more well-known. She had a reputation as one of the more promiscuous members of the school's population, not all that unlike Rosa's, in fact.

Since Freshman year, a recurring problem for Jennifer Perez had been people, usually boys from older classes, mistaking her for Romita. It was actually pretty... intimidating. She certainly didn't want anything to do with any of the people who had bothered her, and the whole thing was far too awkward for her tastes. Thankfully, the two Jennifers looked almost nothing alike, so once people made the acquaintance of one of them, the confusion ended. Jennifer Perez had never really talked to Romita herself. It would just have been too odd.

"Um, yeah, they don't tell me anything about that stuff, though," Jennifer said.

When in doubt, just lie. No need to make her feel awkward.

"I hope it's somewhere, um, fun though."

Jennifer noticed that Rosa and Dustin had left the bar, and she started to feel guilty again. Why hadn't anyone done anything? She was starting to feel a little uncomfortable in the Varsity. Almost like she was sticking around the scene of a crime.

"I'd, um, I'd better get going here soon," she said to Morgan and the Heart girl. Then she trailed off, hoping they wouldn't drag her any deeper into the conversation. It was a little late, and, though she wasn't feeling much better over all, the focus of her anxiety had definitely shifted away from her home life.

Stacy nodded. "Too bad nobody seems to know. I'm trying to decide if I wanna go. There's a huge tournament the weekend we're leaving, I'd have to be State champ to qualify, but I medaled last year, and both first and second place graduated. I guess I should just worry about that if I win this year. It probably won't happen, the guy who beat me last year is super tough and will probably kick my ass again..." she laughed and took a long sip.

"Though...I'd kind of like a last trip with my class. Go out with a bang...together. You know, even if I qualified for Nationals, I think I'd pick the trip. You only get one Senior Trip. I can wrestle in college, this will be the last time I get to really see any of my classmates."

She caught Jen's tone and nodded. "Alright, it was cool talking to you. Maybe I'll see you around."

She glanced down at her rather depleted drink, surprised that she had drunk that much of it already. With her recent sweet binges, she might end up losing early and not even coming close to having to make that choice. As she thought about that she started thinking about Prom as well, and that fact that she still didn't have a date.

"...I'd even go with a junior if he asked..." realizing too late that she'd said that out loud she immediately set about the task of finishing her drink and hoping that Morgan hadn't heard her talking to herself.
