Seemed like they were ready to head out, but before that, Cammy apparently had one last surprise for them, offering to let them use her weapon. It did occur to Jeff that he’d never seen her pull a weapon out, and if she was just giving it away with no strings attached, he had a good idea why. Probably was something like a hula hoop or a bouquet of roses or a...
Nailbat.
Sure enough, peeking under the bench where she’d indicated for them, he pulled out a hefty-looking club with nails through the head. Tanisha had no use for it, apparently, so it was his, free of charge. Dang...for once in his life, things were coming up Greene.
Hefting it in his right hand and giving a couple of practice swings against the air, he gave Cammy an appreciative nod. If she was counting on him to watch her back, she’d taken a huge first step to winning his trust. With this and his shield, he was ready for just about anything, as long as they didn’t stab him in the back.
“Yeah, right behind you,” he replied to Tanisha, following her out into the great unknown. He was alright with this alliance, for however long it lasted. Worst case scenario, he had two badass weapons, and he’d be fine striking out on his own. But until then, might as well be a team player. He’d survive longer that way.
