Seeing Adam take his knife and slash at him, Jacob tried to jump back, but was too slow and felt it dig a large chasm above his collar. He panicked as he felt his blood flowing down the front of his body. Realizing he'd soon bleed to death, he rushed at Adam, outstretching his right hand to grab at Adam's collar, planning to try and pull it off in hopes Danya would blow his collar. Though he meant to say "Die!", it came out as an incoherant gurgle as his hand enclosed around the collar and the grip weakened. Luck saved Adam, as the last of Jacob's blood bled out as soon as he grabbed the collar. His eyes glazed over and his body silently slumped, still gripping Adam's collar.

and so, one of the deadliest men on the island perished.

Boy#14-Jacob Starr-DEAD.

I got him...I got the bastard...

Adam Dodd didn't know whether or not to be happy, or to be sad about the fact that he had just killed Jacob Starr, one of the most deadly people on the island. As he stood beside the corpse of the boy, whose hand still rest on the collar around his neck, Adam knew that he'd just done something that only five days ago, he never would have dreamed of doing.

He'd killed another human being, and this time, he hardly felt bad about it at all.

I suppose that's kind of what happens, though. You kill someone for the first time, and you feel awful. The second time's difficult, but you still feel like shit. The third time, you're numb, but you hardly feel much at all.

Sighing out loud, Adam carefully pried the dead fingers of Jacob Starr from around his neck, the corpse collapsing with a wet thud on the grounds of the Gazebo. As he glanced around the area, he saw that now, he was truly alone. Folding the knife up, he put it in his pocket, figuring that it would likely come in handy somewhere down the road.

And now, to raid the stores...

Kneeling down, he rifled through the knapsack of Jacob, only finding some food and a single clip as the items that had any real importance to him. Picking up both items, Adam walked back towards the gazebo, and up the steps to the bloody structure. On the way, he stopped and picked up Jacob's pistol, hesitating for a second on whether or not he would keep it. Shrugging to himself, he put the pistol in his right pocket, noting that the abundance of things he had on his person were definitely bogging him down.

Whatever, I don't plan on having to do any running any time soon. This gun's just about out of bullets anyways. Just don't want to mix bullets.

Picking up his knapsack and slinging it around his shoulders, he turned around and retrieved his shotgun. Taking another look around the area, and another look at the body of Jacob Starr, Adam rubbed his face and stepped down the steps of the gazebo.

As he walked away from the structure, he hardly noticed as a tear slowly ran down his face, and dropped onto the bloodstained grass below. As he stepped out of the area, a stoic look came upon his face, giving away nothing about the epic battle that was being raged within...

Please forgive me...
