- Since there were still a handful of people living on the island when the AT arrived, a few places with running water can be found in The Mansion, The Factory and some houses inside The City. These places also have running electricity in small capacities.
- Around three months before the first day of the game, the AT murdered every single human on the island, destroyed anything that might make a good weapon or enable the students to contact the outside world and set up the cameras.
- All belongings of the students were confiscated by the terrorists, but each student was handed a daypack containing:
One weapon (plus a instruction manual if the weapon is something complex like a firearm)
One First Aid Kit
Food rations: two loaves of bread, two tins of crackers, ten high-energy survival ration food bars and four bottles of water (just like in V7)
Spare clothing: One T-shirt and sweatpants roughly in size of whoever got the daypack in random colors
One towel in a random color
One map of the island, slightly more detailed but still similar to the one you can see in

One flashlight with batteries enough for twelve hours
- Each student is wearing a silver collar, around ten centimeters high and two centimeters thick. The collars are situated above the adams apple and too firm to move them too much, but still loose enough to put one or two fingers between collar and neck. The collars are completely featureless and have no clear front or backside.
- The name of the teacher killed in the prologue is Andy Smith. He was the teacher for art and geography and pretty popular by his students for being laid-back and treating every student fairly. Maybe that was why the AT picked him out to be the one to be killed in front of the students.
- As revealed in the Fourth Announcement, there is an abandoned underground base inside a cave system in the island. The AT turned this base into their base of operations. In other words, Danya and the rest of the AT have been on the island the whole time.
