Alex Avanesian: 17 year old Armenian-American dude who's shy, quiet, keeps to himself and his books and is also a massive, massive SOTF conspiracist, to the point where it's kind of unsettling just how much he's seemingly invested in it. Be it that the Chinese, the aliens or that the United States itself are behind SOTF, he's probably read it all online. He's terminally online, mostly to his own detriment. Generally, he knows a lot about SOTF, but he doesn't really speak up much about it, but he will ramble about his theories to any of his friends willing to listen and not slowly back away from him as he does so, although he doesn't have many friends. He's also into true crime, particularly serial killers and is kind of a nerd, getting good grades, particularly in shop class and science, as he wants to be an electrical engineer when he's older and plans to take an apprenticeship after school. Politically, Alex doesn't tie himself to any specific party or ideology; he was a Canoner for his anti-SOTF views but broke off with him after his many gaffes and the events of V7. He's bisexual, although he hasn't really came out to anyone due to fears of being rejected for it. He has an old pet rabbit named Alice that he takes care of and a freshman sister called Mary who's more popular than him, a fact that he's quietly annoyed about. He's generally a nice guy, it's just that his interests turn a lot of people off him.

Looking for: Fellow conspiracists and people who are either willing to tolerate his theories enough to be friends or people who don't want to hear about it but still want to be friends. Possibly people who know his sister and through her, him. Finally, people who pick on him or mock him for his views on SOTF and his interest in it, and perhaps someone he can have a crush on. Matthew Bell: 18 year old Japanese-American kid who spent roughly half of his life so far shooting around the world with his USAF dad and then settled down in Salem. His primary interest is working out, as his body can attest to, and he's disappointed that the school does not have a football club. He participates in JROTC and takes it very seriously in lieu of football. Is kind of a jock, but doesn't participate in any school sports, although he is a quarterback in a smaller football team in Boston itself. Matthew is frankly, kind of an asshole, often making jokes at the expense of the more introverted, shy or weird students at the school. If you're his friend or just a general acquaintance, of which he has many thanks to popularity, he's quite friendly, joking around or just hanging out with them. This popularity stems from the fact his house is big, and his parents often leave town for a few days, allowing him to throw parties. He can be quite flirty, although if the girl he's trying to flirt with shows discomfort he'll stop. He's quite patriotic, and is decidedly Republican in his viewpoints, although he detests Canon and is somewhat happy that Kirby won; he would never admit it, however. This means he has an extremely low view of leftists, communists and socialists, regarding them as unpatriotic idiots and frequently getting into arguments with them over differences of opinions. Interests-wise, he's a fan of the Patriots and cooking as well as the aforementioned working out and JROTC. He has aspirations of joining the US Military, although he's unsure of what role he wants to do exactly. Is never seen without his leather jacket.

Looking for: Workout buddies, leftists he can argue with over politics, people he can agree with politically, friends through JROTC or his other interests, people he's made fun of for humourous reasons, other popular people he can interact with through parties and friends of friends, girls he's flirted with and maybe hooked up with and people who dislike him for making fun of other people. I am now fielding a third kid!

Jennifer Lintunen is a 17 year old girl who's in the marching band playing the snare drum and as such, is predictably kind of quirky! Her parents own a convenience store in town, and she has an elder sister who went to John Endicott before losing her leg. She also practices on a drum kit in her garage with the hopes of joining a local punk or heavy rock band one day, but so far she hasn't had any luck with that! She's a staunch vegan, owing to a traumatic experience when she was young, and is happy to help anyone else who is considering going vegan and will talk about it if given a chance! She's somewhat pudgy as a result, due to her love of Oreos, which are actually vegan! She also volunteers at a local animal shelter in her spare time, with the aspirations of possibly working there once she leaves high school and or going on to higher education to become a vet. Her favourite bands are Sabaton, The Clash and Joy Division, but generally she'll listen to any kind of punk or heavy metal, no matter how obscure the band. Politically, she's a Kirby Democrat, and honestly doesn't really care too much about politics, but she dislikes Canon and thinks Kirby is doing a good job of things.

Looking for: Marching band friends, perhaps someone in a band who would be looking for a drummer, people into the same music she's into, fellow vegans to talk vegan stuff about, that one really anti-vegan kid that always exists, maybe someone she's met while helping out at her parents' convenience store?

Madeleine Molliqaj is an 18 year old Kosovar Albanian girl who immigrated to Salem with her family after winning the green card lottery in 2009. She and her brother, Klinton, are both named after important US politicians during the Kosovo War; her brother is named after Bill Clinton, and she is named after Madeleine Albright. Her parents are staunchly Democrat and pro-American, and this viewpoint is shared with Madeleine. She's a very bubbly and happy girl, willing to help anyone out with whatever they need, whether it be homework, an actual project they're working on, or if they just need a friend to go shopping with! Her parents' interest in politics and love for the United States has rubbed off on Madeleine; she's a member of the model UN, and plans to go on to study International Relations at university somewhere, with the hopes of becoming an American diplomat one day. Politically, she supports Kirby, and probably has a poster of Tony Blair up in her room somewhere. In her spare time, she reads up about politics and goes hiking and/or shopping.

Looking for: Fellow model UN members, people who she's helped out or tutored in the past, fellow political kids, perhaps a relationship and/or people to crush on, people she agrees with politically, maybe the rare person who can actually be her enemy?

• Amaryllis and Alex: Amaryllis totally mocks this guy for his bullshit 'oh I used to be into Canon but now I'm apolitical' schtick because she's seen it a million times and Never-Canoners always wind up siding with him on issues that aren't his SOTF response and general temperament. She'd have enough to make fun of without this, given that he's generally a nerd.
• K and Alex: K falls in the 'doesn't want to hear about it but still cool being friends' category. Maybe K tries to steer the conversation towards woodworking if he can help it, periodically checking in like an awkward father; 'are you woodworking, son?' kind of vibes, maybe that puts Alex off but it reads like if it's well-meaning enough he won't notice. K judges himself for being friends with Alex until he says something that makes him laugh for three minutes straight and forget the whole thing. Probably K's squad thinks less of him for this.
• Amaryllis and Matt: Matthew is pretty clearly a lost cause and as such Amaryllis has little to no interest in arguing with him. If he insists on it, she tries to fight him, physically. She's a seasoned rock climber and survivalist and has taken a self-defense class or two, so she can totally handle herself. But seriously, if they shared, say, US History class, and they had a classroom debate coming up, Amaryllis would much rather skip class that day than lower herself to the level of arguing with him. So if Matthew's looking to have an active back and forth enmity with Amaryllis, he won't find it, because she won't give Matthew the time of day. They would have had to fight a few times in the past to have this understanding, though, so if you'd like to refer back to anything specific just let me know first. Coda probably also steers clear of Matthew for this reason, and Mai thinks he's a creep probably because he's tried flirting with her.
• Eugene and Matt: Eugene might have worked out with Matt in the past, and is too nice to make it clear that he doesn't really want to hang out with him anymore as he gets more and more patriotic and Eugene gets less and less athletic. So Eugene still talks to him sometimes, though he isn't afraid to put his foot down if things get too political.

Alex: Gabrielle isn't a conspiracy kid, but she's a fountain of information about stuff like SOTF and murder. I don't see them as *very good* friends, but they do talk. once in a while.

Matt: He can argue with Isaiah. Ren dislikes him and would probably want to fight him if they didnt care so much about their reputation, and most of my other kids probably avoid him. Maybe he could argue against Erika, too? Since she denounces her openly republican writer dad.

• Callie/Alex - I am still confused as to what extent the anti-SOTF club exists as an actual school club but Callie is in it whatever it is or isn't. They're both nerds, maybe they study together? Callie's love of subtly picking at people for her own amusement even when they're on her side and in her friends groups means there's a pretty specific avenue of subtly trolling him she might have where she tries to mildly gaslight his rejecting Canon ('sure he's incompetent but he is the only one in our worthless government trying to expose the truth about the AT, after all. Can't trust anyone else') recently. How their relationship might specifically go would probably depend on like, how he takes someone playing devil's advocate to his ranting because that's what she does even when she probably totally agrees. He might either find her annoying/close-minded even despite being mutual conspiracy buffs or he might appreciate the honest 'intellectual' discussion. Either way.
• Depending on what Mary is specifically popular for/what circle's she's in I might have more ideas here!
• Ashlyn/Matthew - Workout buddies, maybe with Eugene before his injury or such. Ashlyn doesn't publicize her political views at all (likely some flavor of Berniecrat socialist-lite) and Matt being a Republican isn't really an issue that'd crop up between them I think, since she wouldn't want to bring it up and he wouldn't really know. What might be an issue is the degree to which he bullies her sister Katelyn, because she quietly has little positive regard for Rafael behind his back for similar reasons. If he hit on her at any point prior to Salem entering the picture she'd politely decline, and he might well have known she was openly primarily into women anyways. Depending on the degree of his social conservatism I could see him getting a bit less fond of her over that, maybe. Like, generally the vibe of the friends he has close versus more at arms-length makes me think she probably has reached the point of tolerating him more than liking him, though I dunno what your read on all this might be.
• Salem/Matthew - Again, contingent on the degree to which Matt is socially conservative he might be put off by the whole flamboyant femboy thing. But if he gave Salem a chance I think they could actually get along pretty well. She wouldn't tell him about her own alien experience, but she'd definitely want to cross-check with him to see if what he describes lines up with her memories. If he doesn't have anything substantial or blatantly contradicts what she thinks she knows about aliens, she'd be pretty angry and tell him he's just making it up. Not necessarily a massive interaction, but it'd probably serve as an interesting foil if they cross paths later on.

These all sound good! Alex would proabbly just think Callie has opposing views and so yeah, he wouldn't really get annoyed at what he sees as a fellow conspirator with differing views from him.

I'll get back to you on Mary at some point! I haven't conceptualised much on her yet, but whenever I get an idea I'll let you know.

If Matthew knew Ashlyn was into women he'd definitely refrain from hitting on her; he's a bit of an asshole, but he respects sexual preferences. And yeah, I get what you mean; they strike me more as workout buddies and not much else due to the general vibes that he gives off. Yeah those both sound good! Alex appreciates having someone to talk with; I'm not sure how willing she'd be to hear him talk about how China is behind SOTF or whatever theory he's in facour of at the moment.

Matthew has almost certainly hooked up with Bethany at some point; he's not looking for a relationship right now, so if she ends up having a crush on him sadly it will probably go unrequited. Meanwhile, I don't really see him making fun of Evie as much? She's friendly and pretty popular so making jokes at her expense wouldn't really be as 'fun' per say.
