As long as Ren isn't like weird about it Raf would have no problems with them on the weeb front, otherwise I can def see what you're describing—they barely interact but get along due to mutual friends. When teasing Ren Raf proobably plays up their 'honorary' status which could possibly come off as othering them? Mariel + Alice: I think I'm probably gonna put Alice into cross-country, so they can know each other through that. Alice appreciates a joker. She's not much for being humorous herself, really, so she'd be hard to play off of, but she likes the quality in others. Might let Mariel know this explicitly, or might just give off a vibe of "I Appreciate You," dunno which one I'd go for yet.
And I can see Mariel and Alice getting along! At the very least they'd chat each other up during practice and meets, and I can see Mariel (unsuccessfully?) rope her into a funny man/straight man type dynamic.
Alice might play along from time to time, but she probably won't do so consistently!
