Once again she had been rewarded for killing a killer.

Arizona didn't know how to feel about it. She supposed they wanted her to diversify; giving her another weapon and more food was an attempt to nudge her towards killing innocents. It wasn't a tempting offer, no matter how much extra food they gave her.

She was sat on the dry ground at the edge of the waterfall, looking out over the island and into the horizon. Her legs dangled above the sheer drop and she was tempted just to push herself forwards and fall. What else did she have to gain from staying? All she had succeeded at doing was to become trapped in a cycle of violence. She had only gone after Quinn due to her body count and the fact she killed Rhonda. After that, while was collecting her first reward, Michael had killed Jonah. She had gone after Michael and then Justin had killed Shauna. It felt inescapable.

It wasn't that she hadn't been thinking about going after Justin, because she had. She had been thinking about going after all of them at some stage, Justin, Blaise, Erika, even Michael before he had forced the issue. While she had been sat by the waterfall she had realized that there would always be a reason for targeting someone. It wasn't hard to invent an issue that justified the actions she took. But she was tired. Going after Michael had been emotionally draining. Her murder of Garren still hung over her like a dark cloud. It had been accidental, but that didn't excuse it. Her single-mindedness had cost an innocent person their life. If she had come up with a plan or even just taken a split-second to think, he would have still been alive. Instead, she had put bullets in his back, as he tried to help her.

Fighting back the urge to just let herself fall, Arizona stood and stepped away from the edge. The food she had been provided was half-eaten. She had started but then lost her appetite. There was a chance Darlene would have enjoyed some so she had decided to leave the rest for the girl once she found her. She had another gun too, another shotgun in fact. It was a weird, stocky looking thing that the note named as a KS-23M. The ammo they had provided for it had seemed too big, but after testing it on a tree Arizona could say that it worked. The hole it had made in the wood proved that much.

Her mind was made up though, she was going to go and find Darlene. She needed to do something that would be a benefit, something that wouldn't end in death. Jonah would have wanted for her to do it too. She had made a promise to do it as well. Justin and the rest could wait she decided. Until she found Darlene everything else was secondary.

She just hoped she hadn't missed her chance.
