Appearance: Howie Morgan is a fairly short, rather stocky man, standing 5'5" tall and weighing 180 pounds, most of it muscle. His hair is light brown, worn short and neat. His eyes are a darker brown, and he tends to make and maintain eye contact when discussing serious matters, though this can be difficult to tell if he is encountered outside, as he favors a pair of sunglasses with dark brown lenses. His features belie his relative youth; he could easily blend with the parents at school functions.

Howie dresses pretty causally, in jeans and short sleeve button-downs. In colder weather, he dons a beige overcoat and thin leather gloves. He carries a cell phone and a walkie talkie to check in with the office, and is usually wearing a hands-free headset.

Biography/Personality: Howie Morgan has been working at Aurora High School for the past five years, and in that time has performed admirably in his role as campus security. He's a friendly man, willing to chat with students when nothing requires his attention and always ready with a joke. He's also a fantastic hacky sack player. He's developed a rapport with a good portion of the student body, trying to present himself as an ally to the students and an all around nice guy.

That said, he takes his position completely seriously, and dispenses discipline with great detachment. If a student he's on good terms with gets caught breaking the rules, he'll handle them just like anyone else, then go back to chatting like nothing ever happened the next day. This spares students' feelings to some degree, as he doesn't turn his back on them even when he has to take actions that displease them. His connections with the students mean he usually has a good idea as to who the troublemakers are, and he has a special talent for figuring out when students are hiding things from him. He's been involved in busting several students for drug possession in years past, though those incidents were turned over to the police for final consequences. Howie also takes a particularly dim view of bullying, and goes out of his way to make sure the students, especially the incoming freshmen, feel welcomed and at home in Aurora's halls.

Howie's dedication to enforcing the rules ends at the school fence when it comes to petty or harmless offenses. He'll stroll past smoking students without a glance, just as long as they're off Aurora's property.

His other duties include dealing with incidents caught on the security cameras, checking the parking lot for theft and vandalism, interacting with parents whose children are involved in trouble, and communicating with the police.
