A Withering Flower

It hadn't happened... She didn't see it, did she? Why? Why did they all die? What set it off? The collars were supposed to only take out the necks... weren't they? It made no sense. She was just about to go and see if they were peaceful too. But.... Something blew up. Maybe the shore is lined with mines or something? What happened? WHY?!

Penelope Withers, AKA girl #66, sat teary-eyed in the same spot that Satoru Kamui, Gigi Sinclair, and Alexander Bee had met only moments prior. She was cradling her arm, it had been singed in the large explosion. Thankfully she was far enough away that it barely reached her. It only burned her arm and some hair, so she was very lucky. She never expected to see people die like that though. It scared her. Would she be next?

Penelope shakily stood and picked up her Daypack, hefting it over her left shoulder (the one that wasn't burnt). She picked up her weapon as well. A Mace... they gave her a stainless steel mace. It was a very good weapon. But she didn't want it. It actually scared her a little. She looked once more in the direction of the area the three died and shuddered. Would she be next. Her right arm was useless for now, and she could never kill someone. Was she going to die like her parents?

"I just want to go home.... Floret... Harold... help me... please."

Penelope didn't want to stick around and wait to die. She slowly made her way out, careful not to slip on the wet rocks. Stilettos defiantly weren't the right choice for this trip gone wrong.
