Richard Huntington

Name: Richard Huntington
Gender: Male
Age: 51
Hobbies and Interests: Collecting art, music, the sixties, independent thought

Appearance: Richard is often compared to Santa Claus in his appearance - he has a round, ruddy face that is somewhat lined with age, small, watery blue eyes and rectangular, thick-rimmed black glasses, a bulbous nose, and a rather voluminous full beard of reddish-brown that covers his pockmarked cheeks and thin lips. His hair is the same reddish-brown color, and though it was once long enough to be put in to a ponytail, Richard has recently cut it so that it only barely falls past his ears. He's been blessed with a full head of hair his entire life, and even at his current age it doesn't show signs of receding, something Richard is extremely proud of. Although Richard's arms and legs are wiry and somewhat muscular, he has a very large, protruding gut, the result of a recent lack of exercise and frequent drinking. His clothes are always extremely casual and simple, consisting primarily of solid t-shirts, jeans or cargo pants and sandals no matter the weather. Even when at work, Richard usually just throws an Alibi apron on over his normal clothes - he's never one to dress up.

Biography: Richard was born and has lived in Minnesota for a decent portion of his life, though he did quite a lot of traveling when he was younger, namely, during the sixties. He became quite enveloped in the philosophies and culture of this period, and spent a lot of time wandering the country. Richard will go on and on about it when asked, and often when not asked, as well. Something he's a little less open about speaking about is his family, who were actually quite wealthy and well-off. Despite their strong disapproval of his lifestyle at the time, Richard's parents would always bail him out during times when he desperately needed money, and when they died they left him quite the inheritance. Having calmed down quite a bit by this point, Richard realized that the inheritance, while large, would not last him forever, and so he used it to start a small cafe in the local mall, The Alibi, which has gone on to be moderately successful with the less "mainstream" crowd of Bayview. Oddly, despite his distrust of the capitalist system, Richard proved to be a good businessman. Although he is fully aware that the sixties are long gone, Richard still maintains his hippie personality and philosophies - he has never owned a television, avoids big brand names as often as he can, is an avid collector of independent art and music, and is just generally a calm and laid-back person. He is often a bit too lax with his employees, which has forced him to grudgingly come down somewhat hard on them from time to time, but he has also gained a lot of respect from them thanks to his very friendly and approachable personality.
