Jack Sparrow Irony

Standing tall on a rocky cliff just behind the warehouses, the lighthouse overlooks the entire island. Sparsely furnished, it doesn't offer much shelter for a student looking for comfort - but climb the spiral stairs to the top, and thanks to a telescope positioned next to the light one would be able to see all the way to the Key at the opposite side of the island.

Morgan Leftowitz's head turned when he heard a maddened scramble coming out from behind the lighthouse. He walked back and watched as she moved down the hill with lightning speed.

"Um...well...that was fucking weird..." Morgan said, moving closer to the door again.

It was then that he heard a loud screeching noise that made him cover his ears at first. His eyes started to wander trying to find the source of the sound. He found a camera and speaker set nearby and stared straight at it. The sound seemed to come from that.

"What on earth..."

"Kids, I have to say that I'm truly impressed with your first day showing. Blood! Tragedy! Explosions! Mayhem!"

"Oh fucking hell!"

The smug voice from the speakers came out and Morgan knew instantly that it was Mr.Danya. Morgan didn't quite hear everything that came out of it. The burning feeling in his head as he thought about how he was just oh so happy that his plan was working. Nineteen dead classmates...he couldn't believe it! He couldn't believe that people were so eager to embrace this...They had to know that there was a way out...

There had to be...

"..a lot of dummies don't seem to understand this, let me put it simply: You go in zone. Collars goes boom. Got that? Okay children, listen close. As of this announcement, the Lighthouse, the Groundskeeper's Hut and Greens are now danger zones. If you're in any of those places, you'd better clear out pronto! Tick tock, folks!"

"Oh shit..." he shouted, turning back to Jen, they were so close now just to finding that key! That place that would get them out of here! They wouldn't have to worry about this stupid game and then maybe...

Maybe...

His thoughts were interrupted by a series of loud beeps. Morgan shook his head to clear it and ran back to her as fast as he could. There was no times for...those types of thoughts right now...

"Shit Jen! We gotta get out of here pronto! We're gonna die if we don't! Follow me!"

Morgan began to dart back down the cliff and ran down. His second wind was returning now, and he only hoped that Jen was right behind him.

Jen listened with worry to the announcement, trying not to panic as the names were read out. As she realised that nobody in there was anybody she cared about, she breathed a sigh of relief. Still, there were people dying out there, which meant that there were people killing. She tried to remember the names of those playing, people she would watch out for.

And then the harder part came. The danger zones. And she was in one. She was turning and running even as Morgan caught up with her, trying to stay by his side. Her best friend, her protector, her –

The announcement came sooner than she would have liked, and she had to vacate the premises. She gathered her things as quickly as possible, and as much of the food and water Sarah had left behind as she could carry, leaving the cards on the floor as she looked took one last furtive glance at her map before running out the door of the lighthouse. She'd head to the warehouses first, since they were close and safe, then she could try to figure out where to go from there.

"It was nice while it lasted..."
