Chance is Not on Your Side

One-Shot

The Bull Craps Casino is a large building on the outside if a bit plain looking, barring the dazzling lights saying it's name and the giant man tipping his 10-gallon stetson, politely inviting you in. On the inside is where the casino really gets to show off its wild west style, being draped by sickly yellow and light brown colors, saloon-esque piano music played throughout the area, the evident smell of whiskey and salty peanuts, and even the playing cards have a cowpoke design to them. The choice of games of chance include slots, baccarat, roulette, blackjack, Texas Hold 'Em, and of course, craps.

Chance is Not on Your Side

((Angie Hart continued from Stupidity Abound))

Angie had been wandering for a long time.  Se wasn't quite sure of the time, but judging from how hungry she was, she assumed that it was getting pretty close to lunchtime, or maybe dinnertime.  She planned to find a place to sit down and eat soon.  Maybe she could even relax for a while.  Lord knows she could use it, especially in this situation.

As if by chance, a large building came into view.  Angie was immediately drawn to the bright display with poker chips and a giant cowboy cheerfully greeting her.  The building was almost definitely a casino, that much was obvious just from the decoration on the outside.  Casinos were supposed to be pretty nice, so Angie hustled over to it with the energy that she could muster.

When Angie reached the front door, she pulled it open only to shut it almost as quick.  There was a lingering smell of salt and alcohol that she found extremely unpleasant.  Upon smelling that, she decided that eating outside would be a much more pleasant alternative.  She sat with her back against the wall, enjoying the shade provided by the building as she opened her bag.

She was about to unwrap her sandwich and take a big bite, but remembered that it was probably the best food that she had, and therefore should probably be saved for later.  She placed it back in her bag and settled on a chunk of bread and a Slim Jim instead.  It wasn't great, but at least it was nourishment, and that's what her body needed right now.

As she was finishing up her meal, Angie heard the distinctive voice of Ritzy Daggers coming from the loudspeakers.  She was shocked as Ritzy started listing off the names of the deceased.  They had only been there for a few hours so far, hadn't they?  She couldn't believe that anyone had started killing this early.  It didn't help that she started hearing names that she recognized, both as killers and victims.  Jewel Evans, a fellow artist, had killed two people.  Vahka Basayev, who she remembered as a big guy with tattoos, had thrown someone off of a tower.  What may have shocked her the most was that one of her classmates,  Marcus Redder, had actually killed another classmate, Eden Zahn.

Angie wasn't really sure how to react.  People were dying.  People were killing each other.  Her classmates were killing each other.  She should have expected this when it all began, but now that it was happening, she had no idea what to do about it.  She had no idea if she could trust any of her friends if she met them at the resort.  She wanted to, but there was no guarantee that she would be able to.

She zipped up her bag and walked away as We Will Rock You by Queen played over the loudspeakers.  Angie loved the song, but it failed to lift her spirits as she walked away from the casino and back into the realm of uncertainty.
