A07: SOLEDAD FERNANDEZ

#1

Post by Cyber_HELPline »

Name: Soledad “Sol” Briana Fernandez
Gender: Female (She/her pronouns)
Age: 18
Hobbies and Interests: Websurfing, pranking people, roller-skating, surfing, cheerleading, jokingly flirting, anime, drawing in her sketchbook.

Appearance: Soledad is a 5’8, 145 lb woman with tanned skin, mischievous blue eyes, a small, rounded nose, and short brown hair complete with sidetails, and stylized into space buns. She generally has smooth skin, though not necessarily glossy. She has a slender, hourglass-like frame, with some tone on her legs and thighs thanks to her efforts at cheerleading practice. Her chest size is large. In terms of clothing, Soledad typically wears whatever she feels like and puts no real thought into fashion sense or color theory. On the eve of the attack, Soledad wore a purple crop top sweater, blue shorts, white socks with anime stickers decorated all over, and brown velcro-strapped shoes with two smiley stickers placed on the toe.

Background: Soledad Fernandez was born on February 12th, 2005 in San Diego, California, and is the elder child of Eddie and Phoebe Fernandez. Soledad’s brother, Esteban would be born six years later. She has a pet frog named Dee, one she obtained during biology class in sixth grade. Soledad was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) at the age of two.

Soledad was not always a free-spirited girl. In her elementary years, she used to be an ordinary, if not extremely awkward child who tended to follow rules and protocol. It wasn’t until sixth grade that something shifted in Soledad’s mind. Dealing with an overly strict teacher in her biology class, Soledad would watch as he bossed around other students and wondered what it would take to get through to him. One day, her teacher would trigger a nasty anxiety attack in one of the other students, scolding him for being uncomfortable dissecting a live animal, their big assignment for the year. That was the last straw for Soledad and she began to plan accordingly.

On the day of the assignment, Soledad received her frog, the frog that would later become her pet. Soledad pretended to work on the assignment, only to later toss him onto the teacher, causing other disgruntled kids to follow suit. That incident caused her to fail the class, got her suspended for a week as well as caused her to be grounded for double that time, but Soledad learned that day she didn’t have to conform to anyone and that life was better with her defining it and living in the moment. She also got a pet out of it, one that’s still going strong six years after the fact.

Soledad’s parents, mainly her father, never seemed to mind this new philosophy, though there was the occasional squabble with her mother when it came to her pranking others or having a poor grade on a test or report card. On the whole, however, Soledad generally has a decent relationship with her parents. Things with Esteban are far more complicated as Esteban is far more rules-oriented and straight-laced than Soledad, despite her best efforts to try and get him to lighten up. One time, Soledad planned Esteban’s tenth birthday party, and while Soledad didn't bother adding any sort of rules outside of house rules, Esteban still managed to find a way to make his party orderly and neat, even providing napkins and clean silverware and making the kids talk quietly. Regardless, Soledad still adores her little brother and knows he'll eventually come around.

Soledad came to Sycamore High School around 2020 after her family to San Jose, California. Not much has changed regarding Soledad’s school life, the main differences being her inclusion into the cheerleading troupe, becoming a positive, energetic figure to the group, her time as a member of the anime club, which helped sparked her interest in anime in general and being a member of the art club, generally creating high-quality art, including character references, backgrounds, and scenes. She also has several sketchbooks for all of her drawings and is currently on her fifth one. Soledad plans on going into illustrating graphic novels or writing for manga once she graduates, combining her love for anime and art into one. Her favorite classes include physical education, Spanish, and art.

Personality: Soledad is the very definition of a free spirit, believing that everyone, regardless of who they are should go about life however they please. This laidback attitude regarding life has often left Soledad with a chill, calm, fun-loving personality. Her free-spirited view on life can be a double-edged sword, however, as Soledad will often find herself being far too forgiving to people with questionable behaviors. She doesn’t see herself as an enabler, per se, but Soledad also doesn’t consider herself a good judge of character. When Soledad is focused on something and puts in the effort, Soledad is a capable student with a decent amount of intelligence. Unfortunately, Soledad tends to not try hard when it comes to class, thanks in large part to her not getting along with several of the teachers, and as a result, she barely skates by. She also has a noted lack of respect for authority figures who actively try to control her.

Soledad is a very friendly girl who will always stand by the ones who are closest to her. To Soledad, those are the ones who she will remember to the end of her days. Her family, especially her parents and her little brother Esteban also count in this group and as such, Soledad will always defend their honor.

Being bisexual, Soledad has found it hysterical watching the expressions of men and women shift from her advances, so one joke Soledad particularly enjoys is flirting in order to get a rise out of them. When Soledad comes across someone she has a crush on, however, she turns into the shyest, awkward person in the world, stammering, speaking softly, and showing none of her prior bravado.

Soledad was diagnosed with ASD at an early age, so as a result, Soledad can say and do things that may come off as odd or unusual to some, like not always looking at someone, being overly blunt with her wording, or taking things literally. Sometimes, Soledad could be vibing to herself, blissfully uninformed of something she did that confused someone. Soledad lives each day as if it was her last. Regardless of what’s been going on or what troubles may be approaching her, as long as she can take this day by the horns and make the most of it, Soledad is golden, even if it means getting into trouble so she can get that one prank out into the world.

Reputation: Soledad’s reputation within the school has always been tricky to gauge. She’s well-liked by classmates mainly because of her carefree, laid-back personality. Others who are less knowledgeable of her may recall some of her practical jokes, especially if they took on an authority figure (primarily one that classmates don’t respect). She’s not conventionally popular, however, despite her being on the cheerleading troupe and being relatively good-looking, mainly because some disagree with her usage of pranks and take issue with how carefree she is. Soledad prefers to be well-liked over being popular.

One thing that cannot be denied however is that teachers tend not to care much about her. In fact, most share a similar distaste for her for one of two reasons. One, they were the guinea pig/victim of a prank pulled by Soledad, or two, they feel that Soledad isn’t applying herself as much as she should be, citing how often Soledad tends to coast by based on luck and natural smarts instead of actively investing in her studies. Some are more frustrated than others because they feel Soledad is squandering her potential. A few teachers, mainly those who are in Soledad's favorite classes, are more lenient towards her, however, knowing her learning style and personality. Notably, in those classes, Soledad tends to fare much better and put more effort in.

Evaluation: "Maybe if this epic prankster uses enough of that duct tape—and has enough creativity in her empty head for it—she can make a whole new world of possibilities. That's the only way she'll stand a chance." — [POLK], Armory Programmer
