How to Get Famous (And Not Have to Shoot Somebody)

one-shot (i promise the next thread i write will be an open thread)

The cabaret is rather simplistic in design, having only one large stage where entertainers perform for the denizens seated at the number of tables. The instruments, sound amplifiers, and turntables left around the stage have frost on them, and the rest of the area has a small margin of snow and slick ice spread about.

How to Get Famous (And Not Have to Shoot Somebody)

[Genevieve Cordova, continued from Story on the Radio.]

Here is a rough approximation of the tautology that has defined Genevieve Cordova's existence for the past day and a half:

I want to get home.

How much do I want to get home?

More than anything.

I can't get home without killing someone.

Sure?

Sure.

I don't want to kill anyone.

But I want to get home.

And so on.

Genevieve repeated this tautology, in her head, through the encroaching decay of sleep deprivation until she finally felt the full brunt of exhaustion set in and collapsed in a heap on the frozen ground.

The worst part, she decided upon awakening, was that it was only the second worst place she had ever fallen asleep.
