Power Details: Kincaid's genetics are a hybrid between a feline and a human - he has a tail, orange and tan fur, claws that can be sheathed instead of fingernails/toenails, and faster than normal reflexes. He is also capable of contorting his body to be able to land on all fours. Additionally, he has enhanced hearing, sense of smell, and vision in dark areas. Notably, his mouth is the same as a human mouth, though he has sharper canines than most and his tongue is rough-textured with tiny barbs, more blunted than your average feline but noticeably inhuman.
Limitations and Drawbacks: Without sleeping 13-16 hours a day, Kincaid can get lethargic and sleepy, though he manages to combat this with small naps throughout the day in addition to his big block of 9 hours per night. He is also red-green colorblind and needs a strict protein rich diet. His ears, while capable of picking up sounds at a distance, are easily overstimulated and result in him wearing noise cancelling headphones whenever he's in crowded places to combat this. His fur can take quite a long time to dry after bathing, and he's incredibly sluggish when it rains. Dangling items and catnip also distract him immediately. He cannot eat grain.
Appearance: Kincaid is 5'7", weighs 143lbs, and is covered head to tail in orange, tabby colored short fur. His eyes are a vivid bright green, and he has two feline ears sticking out on either side of his head. His body is lithe and athletic, moving with a fluid grace. He has claws on his hands and feet that can retract or extend, making gloves and shoes very uncomfortable. He usually wears hooded sweatshirts (with the hood pulled over his ears) and flexible pants with holes cut in them for his tail, and comfort is always his number one priority. Often, he can be found wearing a pair of red and white Beats By Dre headphones around his neck or over his ears.
When he was abducted, Kincaid was wearing a black hoodie with the words "Just Don't" in white across the front, faded to grey in the wash around the wrists and hood. He was also wearing a pair of dark green sweatpants and a pair of purple keds with five puncture holes in the toes where his claws have worn them right through.
Background:
- Kincaid was born to a post office worker named Simon and a waitress named Rhonda, and grew up an only child to a middle class family. Kincaid was a latchkey kid and spent a lot of time watching television, playing video games, and drawing.
- Kincaid faced a lot of attention - good and bad - for his gift. He responded to the bullying better than the adoration/fetishization of his gift, and tended to isolate himself for this reason in public and spent a lot of time indoors.
- He is near the top of his class in school. He has a following on twitch in the low fifties, and he's aware that he would be more popular if he leaned into his gift instead of insisting he not be set apart from other streamers. Kincaid usually streams adventure games with absurd puzzles, and frequently has 'dumpster dive' streams where he spins a live wheel and picks a game off of it.
- The only social activity he has is house league basketball. He likes playing competitively but doesn't show much passion in improving.
- Kincaid plays an off-ball two on the basketball court, and is the backup as a result. He's mostly brought in to protect a lead because his gift allows for quick steals and hard fouls, though when he started playing he popped the ball a lot.
- Kincaid loves math and science, and his second favourite subject is gym, though he believes that having such a thing as a subject in schools is ridiculousness bordering on insanity.
- Around school, he's seen as a loner and a bit of an oddball. As Kincaid has gotten older he's found that people are best left at arm's length, as rude or insensitive comments about his appearance are generally unavoidable.
- After school, Kincaid hopes to get into engineering, though he doesn't know which particular field he wants to work in.
Personality: Kincaid is incredibly smart and gifted when it comes to picking up new concepts quickly, but he tends to be standoffish, stubborn, and rude to his peers. He's intensely self conscious of his appearance and takes pains to hide his other-ness as much as possible. He's rude to people in the real life space, and his biting, nearly insulting personality he owes to his small success on his streams, where his prickly nature is a big draw. Kincaid prefers to be alone, not feeling like he needs social interaction to be fulfilled.
