Limitations and Drawbacks: Alan is essentially powerless on his own, as his abilities are specific to enhancing the abilities of an ally. Additionally, Helping Hand can only be used on a single person at a time, and doubling the power of an ally's Gift will also double the drawbacks of said power when activated.
Appearance: Alan stands at 5’9” and is slightly overweight, weighing 192 pounds. He has a fairly stocky build and usually carries himself with a slight slouch in his back. His platinum blonde hair is spiked upward, with the tips dyed an acidic green color. His face is frequently characterized by blonde stubble from inconsistent shaving habits. He has fair skin. His eyes are dark brown in color, with irises that are frequently difficult to distinguish from the pupils. He has a rather prominent brow ridge leading down to a straight and pointed nose.
On the day of the abduction, Alan was wearing a white tank top, over which he wore a brown leather bomber jacket with a fur collar. He also wore a pair of dark blue Adidas track pants with white stripes running up the sides, along with a pair of white New Balance sneakers. In addition, he was wearing a pair of fake gold chains around his neck and a pair of black fingerless gloves on his hands.

- Alan was born in Bend, Oregon to Dimitri and Victoria Melnyk. His parents separated when he was still in elementary school, and has since lived with his mother and his maternal grandmother, Catherine, usually visiting his father on weekends, though these visits are somewhat infrequent. Alan has a strained relationship with his family, having grown increasingly distant from them over time.
- Alan’s mother works as a manager at a local restaurant and his grandmother is a former nurse who has since retired. Their overall household income generally places them in the bracket of lower-middle class.
- Alan picked up his interest in mafia films and series from his father, and continues to be a big fan to this day. He’s also a big fan of professional wrestling, enjoying the theatrics and bigger-than-life personalities often presented alongside a healthy dose of action.
- Academically, Alan is mostly unremarkable. It has been noted by multiple teachers that with a more consistent work ethic, Alan could be an Honors student, but as things stand he does well enough to maintain a C average in most classes, though he tends to do better with History than other subjects.
- More recently, Alan has become interested in ideals of entrepreneurship, fantasizing about one day becoming a self-made success story. To that end, he intends to study business when he completes high school.
- Alan is mostly thought to be a troublemaker and a bully, regularly getting involved in pranks and occasional disciplinary trouble. He has avoided anything more serious than a detention or two. He’s earned a reputation for being rather harsh towards underclassmen and certain classmates. He mainly does this to appease a dark sense of humor, thinking that often callous treatment is simply a matter of some dark jokes and pranks.
