A Brief Moment of Solace

One-off thread

Although not particularly luxurious, the two story building which comprise the officers' quarters is hardly spartan. Along with several well-outfitted bedrooms, the quarters contain a rec room, a small gymnasium, a lounge and a miniature library.

A Brief Moment of Solace

Sophie wasn't sure how long she spent in the bathroom, washing the blood off her crowbar in one of the many sinks.

It had definitely been a good couple of hours, thats for sure. She hadn't immediately decided to wash it the moment she came in, seeing as she was far too tired to put any energy into doing so, but at the very least she'd managed to lock herself into a cubicle before falling asleep. That being said, it was difficult trying to get into comfortable position when the only available seat was a toilet, which along with the occasional sound of gunfire made sleeping a difficult task. Nevertheless, in the end she'd managed to do so anyway despite all the distractions.

Once she'd awoken, the young girl helped herself to a bit of breakfast and got to work cleaning her weapon. Admittedly, there wasn't really much of a point in doing so, but at the very least it allowed her to get her thoughts straight. Right, where should I head first... Luke and Bryant are probably far away from the Officer's Quarters by now, so looking for them would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I could always just hang around the Quarters some more, seeing as it's already proven to be a fairly popular spot already.....

.....Then again, Juliet might still be hiding in the Mess hall. Could be worth paying a visit just in ca-

She was suddenly interrupted mid thought by the sound of the announcement playing out across the island, causing her to temporarily stop what she was doing as she mentally took note of what was said.

Nothing particularly out of the ordinary as it seemed. Brett Torres and John Ferrara both added another name to their list, solidifying their statuses as opponents whom she should be wiry of. The idiot announcer hadn't a clue whether she was Sophie or Stephanie, as usual. William Chandler had killed himself... Odd, she didn't expect anyone to do that at this stage of the game.

And of course, she was reminded of her sister's demise at the hands of... Ryan Montoya? No, that must have been a mistake. It had clearly been Luke who'd made the killing blow. Had she made some kind of misjudgement?

Then again, Adams had proven himself to be a complete and utter fool, so it made sense for him to make mistakes like that. Nevertheless, Sophie made a mental note to look our for this Ryan Montoya as well. It wasn't as if she was planning on making any exceptions when it came to winning this game...

"...It'd be lovely if you, say, turned to look at the camera and said your name. Future announcements will be so much easier, now that there isn't any confusion."

For quite possibly the first time since she'd heard mentioned during announcement day, Sophie briefly smiled. Not out of happiness or glee, but simply because she was mildly amused by the fact that they STILL couldn't figure out which of them was which. Well, why should I ruin the suspense? May as well keep them guessing...

So instead of revealing her name, Sophie simply removed her hairband and snapped it in two, looking up at the nearest camera and giving it a cocky smirk. "Make me."

After she'd finished cleaning her Crowbar, Sophie packed her bag and made her way through the door. It was time to make a start on her little vendetta against the rest of her ex-classmates.

And she had a good idea where to start.....
