Anthony took aim.

“Verity Stewart.”

"Nah, fuck that," Verity said, taking a step backwards.

[Applesintime]

And down she went, like a ton of bricks or someone with concrete shoes. Anthony started forwards, instinctually reaching to grab her, but it was too late. Didn’t matter, anyway. She was dead either way. The fall would kill her if Anthony’s bullet couldn’t.

For a long while he stared down past the railings, past the cruise ship, to the murky depths below. Even if she somehow survived that, the fall would break her legs or her arms or her neck and she’d drown and choke in her own blood or seawater. Nobody could survive a fall like that.

SS01: VERITY STEWART - DECEASED

Chris. Kaya. Verity. This had been so easy. Kaya had taken a bullet. Anthony had taken Chris’ head. And now Verity had taken a tumble. The Adam of the flotilla, the original sinner, was burning in Hell where she belonged.

Two left. And then he’d see London’s streets again.
