Victoria Crossroads

Day 1 - Open!

The wet market is located a short walk from the wharf, and as with most of the surrounding area the smell of rotting fish permeates its wooden walls. Rows of stalls which used to display the fishmongers' wares line the interior, although they are now bare. The stalls themselves provide good cover, although at night visibility within the building drops considerably as there are no light sources aside from large windows. The floor here is perpetually slick with water as a result of an ancient ice machine finally breaking down for good. There are also many hooks protruding from the various walls and many crab and lobster pots hanging from the ceiling. Buckets and wooden carts are dotted around the area, no longer being needed to carry ice, water, or fish for the residents. Collections of buoys, ropes, lines, boots and hats can be found hanging on back walls or discarded behind stalls, left abandoned by the townspeople.

"Okay, thank you!"

After replying in politeness, Lucy breathed slowly, and smiled back at Dan. Wasn't like it was real, but still. Lucy, now that she found someone, even someone who used to be as Dan, in this place that was willing to help her, couldn't let Dan go. She supposed she was like a parasite, clinging on someone who she liked even a little, and never letting go. But surely, others were doing the same? Lucy was clingy sure, but wouldn't anybody be as well? She was lucky she got attached to someone who was nice, she supposed. She wouldn't want to get herself attached to someone as unhealthy as....

Oh, what was the use in thinking about the past? When her life, past and future, was about to end anyways? The past was useless now.

Lucy followed Daniel uncomfortably closely, to make she didn't get seperated with him. Lucy hated being alone, and she hated being abadoned most of all. And sure, this...alliance? Couldn't call it a friendship. It wouldn't last, of course, Lucy's friendships never did stay and last, and of course, this one wouldn't either. But, let a clingy girl like her dream of friendship and love. Lucy stared at Dan, and then looked over to what he was doing. Oh, a role call?

"Couldn't you have better spelling and remove the swears..."

Muttering that to herself, Lucy tried to cross the swear word out, and then try to add a y and a o to the 'urself', but just as she was it crossing out (Which wasn't really working since Lucy didn't have the strength to 'write' with her sharp metal hairpin.), Lucy looked at Dan walking away, got a sudden spike of fear-induced adrenaline, gave up on fixing up Dan's spelling and wording mistakes. Instead, Lucy hastily, and harshly wrote a "Lucy" with a love heart over it on the list. Shaking her cramped up hand, Lucy ran up to Dan, and once again, followed him, like a stone in his shoe.
