Asha Sur: your friendly neighborhood goth nihilist! with her gloomy fashion and fascination with anything morbid, Asha is a kindhearted but somewhat off-putting presence at school. she enjoys the subculture's music from The Birthday Massacre to Bauhaus, adores bloody horror movies, and even draws her own slasher webcomic! (to little success or attention, but hey, it makes her happy.) she has participated in ballet classes since elementary school. she's bisexual if any weirdos want a romance thing
Asha thinks people are pretty neat, generally speaking, and loves getting to know people, even those she shares nothing in common with! her social net is wide and she has a very loose definition for 'friend,' for better or worse. you may only talk to her once every few weeks, but boy she'll remember your birthday!
Anzu Sakamoto: when you get to know this quiet, polite, drab, straight-A student: woah! she's like, really sour and kinda rude! maybe you regret this decision! when she's not hiding behind a non-confrontational mask and quietly glowering at the world, Anzu enjoys murder mysteries, true crime, anonymous trolling, and playing the bass. she could work in either a full band or just having a musician friend or two to jam with sometimes! also she's a lesbian
Anzu is dependable and loyal to anyone she finds tolerable enough to call a friend, but the general misanthropy boiling beneath the surface may make anything beyond a surface-level connection a tough sell. most of the time, she just wants people to leave her the hell alone.

Lili has a radar for the weird music people. She isn't a goth but she appreciates the music and is educated in the Bauhaus side of things at least. As two people with similarly loose definitions for "friend," they have good overlap and reason to know each other, and maybe even hang out
Come to think of it, Lili's musicdar would also pick up Anzu, depending on how much of that bass playing takes place around school grounds/if it would be like, a known factor, they could be music friends—I've been getting the feeling of having Lili be sort of quietly prolific at just recording jams and posting them and having musician friends from the school come around to play on the recordings, just kind of improv stuff, if that sounds like Anzu's kind of thing?

BB is also a little weird/out-there, but in different ways. She's into music but not really the same stuff as Asha, but that's probably a good thing because it means she won't be pretentious about it. She likely vibes with the more theatrical side of things. Maybe casual positive acquaintances?
Juliette is really actually not down for any of that stuff at all, but she tries to be on good terms with everyone and probably sees that Asha's a kind person in spite on the interests. Plus ballet is vaguely cool and respectable? Probably not close, but Juliette probably thinks well of Asha despite having nothing really in common, and would be down to have a chat and pretend to understand/care.
Sofia probably thinks all the gothy stuff is vaguely cool, though is very difficult to get to care unless it falls into the really surprisingly robust span of cowboy-adjacent goth material. Sofia is weird and sorta deeply cringe with the cowboy thing, but maybe that'd help them vibe, especially since they're maybe both a little unusual in how they socialize.
Anzu:
BB also plays bass, as well as keyboard. BB is kind of pretentious and annoying about this stuff, though, so they probably either get along surprisingly well or grate on each other's nerves terribly, and I think the latter is more likely but am down for either.
Juliette also does well in class and is serious and academic. She has a really really high tolerance for difficult people, but also has enough social/emotional intelligence to pick up and respect "leave me alone" signs. I feel like she'd probably do alright with Anzu, maybe internally wincing through some of the vitriol if it's externalized but honestly she has a cynical side too, especially about love. Juliette would maybe be a touch intimidated by/jealous of it if Anzu's out, since Juliette isn't, but hey, just adds some drama to it all.
I feel like Sofia would annoy/be annoyed by Anzu if their paths ever crossed, since Sofia is sort of weird, not academic at all, and deeply and embarrassingly into a stupid hobby. Also if Anzu was mean to anyone, Sofia would be mean back. That said, Sofia's actually alright at leaving people alone most of the time, so maybe it's not all that bad. Who knows?
