This is it. This is how she dies. Not even from normal Program stuff. Not from getting shot, not from getting stabbed, not getting her skull bashed in-not even getting strangled with someone's pants or something similarly stupid. A heart attack. Embarrassment. Nerves. The tension was going to kill her where she stood.

Megumi didn't even know why it was making her so stressed! He already showed he probably wouldn't kill her, so the worst he could do is say no. The best she could compare it to was when you have a crush on someone but you never plan on confessing to them-the worst that could happen is rejection, but despite it you can't help but expect something like the world ending. It made her heart beat faster and she could feel sweat rolling down the back of her neck until-

"...Yeah, that'd be... Okay. Yeah. For a little bit."

Her mouth opened and stayed open for a moment. Not exactly jaw-dropping, but definitely being left speechless.

He said yes. He said yes! She wasn't going to be alone out here!

Megumi didn't even mind the extra orders, simply smiling and quickly nodding in response. One was simple enough and the other was already part of the plan, so it was no big deal! She could do this!

"Understood!" She said, tempted to salute, but Megumi knew how corny that would look, so instead she clasped her hands behind her back. "Do you want to lead the way Kawada? Or should I?"

It would only be fair to offer. She was the one with a bullet proof vest. She could take a hit. Shogo might not.

Shogo nodded his head again without missing a beat. "I'll go first. Still got some shopping to do, though it's gonna be harder if we gotta skedaddle from the main town area for a little bit. Can't be helped."

With that he turned around and continued onwards. The grass crunched under his feet as he walked with a casual but deliberate gait. "We ain't got all night, so..."

Megumi simply nodded along, smiling and letting out a light "Got it!" as she hurried after the older boy.

At this rate...it wouldn't be good, she knew it wouldn't be good, but maybe this situation wouldn't be as horrible as she had expected.
