Melodie never really cared that much about music.

She always wanted to know the name of that girl that hung out with Astrid.

She always wanted to know what made these girls tick.

If Melodie was locked in a room with Jenelle, Astrid, and Yvette, and she had a gun with three bullets, she would shoot three of them, one time each, and then hang herself.

If Melodie was locked in a room with herself for too long she'd think about hanging herself.

It's such an dumb thing, people being unwilling to hurt other people. It's in her instincts, to be honest. If she saw someone she didn't like cry she'd want to make them cry harder. She liked making people uncomfortable. It made her feel powerful. It made her feel sadistic, like her favorite characters. Deep down, she knew why she liked Cyrus- she was attracted to violence, and she was attracted to bad ideas, and she was attracted to things and people that hurt.

If you give her a matchstick and a tank of propane she'd set the house on fire. If you gave her a gun and somebody she didn't like, she might shoot. If you give her a drink, she'd drink it. If you give her drugs, she'd take it. If you give her a chance, she'd probably take it, too. She was scared of herself. She wanted to be important. She wanted to be cool.

Mom once joked that she'll probably be a school shooter, when she bought really deep into the trenchcoats-and-punk-music thing. Maybe that was why they didn't have a gun.

Melodie was being edgy again because she didn't know how to be anything else.

Melodie was a kid that bit people. When she was twelve she was hugging Cyrus and she sunk her teeth right into him because she thought it was funny. He retaliated by almost giving her a panic attack. It was pretty funny in hindsight. Her canines are sharper now.

Half of the people she called her friends wouldn't give a shit about her.

She didn't know(her name was Sarah)'s name, and she never knew Melodie's name, and you know what, that was fine.

She wished that she built more connections when she was young. She wished that she was capable of being the best version of herself. She wished that she could be a bit more than she actually is. She wished people cared about her.

She wished that she isn't here, sometimes. She wished that it didn't devolve this way.
