That was the most immediate problem solved at least. Hopefully she wouldn’t have to worry about this group tearing into itself for the time being, they had enough issues and threats left to deal with without manufacturing more; still, she was going to be keeping an eye on Ivan just in case. It wasn’t like she didn’t understand his concerns about letting Lucia join them; she wasn’t blind to the problems that would bring either, but…
But nothing. He was right. Everyone else here just wanted to delay the inevitable.
Akeno turned her head as she saw something drop down towards Ivan out of the corner of her eye, looking just in time to see a shotgun of all things land directly into his waiting arms. She looked skyward before looking back at the balcony above them, but whoever or whatever had sent the gun tumbling their way was already gone.
Okay, sure.
“Let’s just get out of here before they throw anything else at us.”

Ivan nodded, followed her lead, pausing to look out over the flotilla, the veritable land mines of danger zones and corpses that they'd all left behind to get... here.

We stare through them and see the same as with all the others. Pores and fibers and hard sponge, things that shatter and break. A fragile, pulsing nothing.
We are sore and salted by the sea, wet. Our presence here is agony and boredom, punctuated by sharpness, boldness. We crave the sharpness again, only able to persist on its memory for so long.
