A Series of Unfortunate Events

Oneshot

This boat once sold novelties at a theme park, and much of the infrastructure remains, including old mechanical cash registers. The boat is still stocked with SOTF-themed knickknacks, as well as general maritime gear of various descriptions, though its organization is more than a little lacking; merchandise is often in poor condition, and is jumbled chaotically on shelves, in some cases overflowing onto the floor. The boat itself is boxy and open on the sides, and is more susceptible than most to the waves, rocking heavily whenever the weather picks up.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Well isn't this great?

You just reached 500 followers on Soundcloud, won the tennis match last Saturday, and now you're getting a once-in-a-lifetime vacation trip in the midst of the ocean!

Hell, you're even getting casted on TV right now, your popularity is gonna rise any minute!

Isn't this brilliant? Isn't it?!

Yea, it probably is.

((BC01 - Mateo Ormeño - START))

Mateo could feel the floor of the boat rocking gently like a cradle. He felt as his body was bobbing up and down, like a beachball in a wavy ocean. It was honestly relaxing at first, but after a long time, it started to feel slightly nauseating. He slowly opened his eyes, being greeted with shelves and more shelves of old SOTF merchandise and postcards. There are some which he could recognize the reference, some which he could barely remember. He turned his gaze to a megaphone beside him. Is this his weapon? Yea, probably, it doesn't have any SOTF logo imprinted on it.

Mateo continued to look around. It seemed as if he was located in the far back of a souvenir shop, maybe this used to be a shop boat?

Anyways, he should probably get going. But first, he might need to stand u-

BONK!

.

Oh wait, I'm not dead yet.

Mateo felt like the world was spinning around him. His body was now laying on the ground, with his bucket hat dropping beside him. He grabbed his hat and held both of his hands on the back of his head while gave out a small, yet agonizing whimper. He could feel a small bump on his head, where the sharp pain was coming from. He opened his eyes again and looked down at the object that fell on his head, which he met a medium-sized vacuum flask with the letters "SOTF-TV" imprinted in black on its metallic body. Frantically, he turned his gaze towards his right palm. No blood, great. He stretched towards the flask and picked it up in curiosity.

Where the fuck does this come from, anyway?

He looked up from the scene of the crime, where he was sitting. To his surprise, he was located right under a shelf, completely overloaded with SOTF merchandise, some of which were even placed near and over the edge, one bob away from dropping to the ground. Somehow, that reminds me of his table back in his home, clustered and untidy...

Frankly, seeing the chaotic situation of the shelf, he felt nothing but amusement.

Swiftly, he took his stuff and moved towards the other corner of the shop, which was free of any shelves and random dropping objects. He started opening and rummaging through his backpack, looking for anything to act as a bandage and cover his head for the time being. He did saw the first aid kit and some clothes, but he would rather use it in a well, more stable place. While he was hurriedly searching through the bag, he found an orange bandana, most likely representing his team. Swiftly, he wrapped the bandana across his forehead, covering the injured part, and kept his hat in the bag.

That would suffice for now.

Alright, what's next?

Nothing?

Well then, time to get out of here. All this rocking was going to make him puke.
